Old-Timers...

Not suprisingly, many of the people I've seen on this site (and most sites in general) are fairly young, usually teenagers. However, there are also quite a few of us who have stayed true to our lameness and nerd-dom (yes, I just made that word up) on into our late twenties, like myself.

What, then, is considered "old" on this particular forum? My age, 30's, 40's, beyond? Are you an Old-Timer, or a Young-Whippersnapper?

Personally I think it's good that we're seeing more so-called "old" members of the anime/manga scene. The more adults that understand being a fan, the better - especially because it counteracts the negativity of those who think we're just sitting around watching "dumb childish cartoons" all day.

I really enjoy video games, the internets, and some animes/manga. I hope I will continue to like them. Most of the old folks I know don't seem to stop and smell the flowers enough, in my opinion. I hope I don't end up having a life that involves dishes and laundry-- unless I happen to be trying out some lame new game, hopefully just a rental.

I never really got into it myself until after I was well into my early twenties. When there was supposed to be some convention around here last summer, I tried to explain it to my mother that it was to me like a Doobie Brothers' concert was to her... ...but then she asked me what kind of drugs were going to be there, so I don't think I explained it very well. XD

And I would say "Oldish Young," yes. Like an "New Oldbie." Er, would that be a "old newbie?"
