A thread for the different teams to say thanks and to congratulate/commiserate each other on the previous debate. Just trash this if you don't want it, Akin.

I would like to start by saying 'bad luck' to Nichigosan and RukiaRod. I think it was very close, and you guys were certainly formidable opponents. But you had a very difficult case to argue (seeing that its always difficult arguing to bring back things that have already been banned) and although you did it very well, Fect decided in our favour in the end :)
Personally, I didn't even mind the times when you were sarcastic, as I thought it was all part of the fun =)

EDIT: Itsovernow is away atm so he can't come and say thanks and congrats to you guys, so I will say it again for him XD

So, thanks to Fect as well for judging - we must have given you a load of work, because those posts were certainly not short. I thought it was very helpful that you gave a critique of each team's arguments - it gives us things we can improve on, as well as justifying your decision to both sides.

And thanks also from me to all the people who got Team Debates set up here. I never thought it would happen, hence a rash promise made to colour all my future posts pink. I haven't kept this... O.o but anyway, the system seems to be working really well, so good job to Fect and akin, I guess, on getting the mods and admins to put it in place.

@maximoose and itsovernow: yieh, really good job you guys...honestly, after itsovernow's first post, i knew we were finished. You hit us head on and we were kinda running the whole time so you guys deserved it. As far as the sarcasm, i really want to make it clear that it wasn't personal. Of course it's used widely in debates cuz it's just another way to smack down your opponent, so, yeah, only did it cuz we were desperate ^_^.

That was a butt-load of fun though. Concerning the topic though....emmmmm....a bit ruff aroud the edges. A note to future debaters, research it first to make sure you can do something with it (i know we'll do that next time before we jump right into it *smacks nichigo* X_X)

Sooo, good job you guys, look forward to a rematch XD. ANd itsovernow, more props to you - you really got me on my toes cuz you're arguments were reeeaaaly good....

You guys did awesome. I had a hard time coming up with any good arguments following your refutals. Hats off. Mad props to itsovernow for knowing his stuff. I'll have to remember not to pretend I know something about an English Brigade especially when i'm arguing with a Brit ^_^

Thanks to everyone who participated - I had to think pretty hard to come up with arguments against some of yours...especially the crime rate statistic, but you probably did pick the harder case to argue.

Yep, I don't mind sarcasm either...goes on all the time in debates on CB - 'intimidation tactics' or something XD.
