Have they stopped showing filler episodes in the anime? Also, are the fillers blatanly pointless like in Naruto, or do they just deviate slightly from the manga? If they are showing pointless fillers, does anyone have a clue as to when they'll pick up where the manga continued after episode 60 ish? Thanks.

Nothing related to the manga. Since the anime was dangerously close to where the manga was, we had to go through a filler arc, and my friend trust me. The fillers are going to last for a whileso no point in complaining.

They're pointless but personally I think they're way better than the Naruto fillers. Nobody knows when the fillers will end but they'll probably continue for quite a while.

They're completely different than the manga, and in most people's opinion they are just plain bad, but from what I hear they have more of a storyline than the Naruto fillers, but i haven't seen many of the Naruto fillers. It's like comparing no-plot pointless episodes in Naruto to a failed attempt at making a dramatic story in Bleach fillers.. both bad in my opinion, but it's worth it as long as they don't change what happens in the real arc that will come up once these are done!

The thing with Naruto fillers is that it brings the background characters to the front so to speak. So if someone has a favourite background character at least the filler can satisfy some sort of craving for them to have a more meaty roll.
As for Bleach who cares at least Ishida's in it. ;D

Well that's what Bleach fillers do too, Ishida's not a backround character but he's a supporting character and they show him to a huge extent in these fillers. They also show Shunsui, Ukitake and the Myori playing with computers a whole lot too.

Has an amine ever over taken a manga? I mean I assume all these fillers are so the manga can produce more comics. And also tell a story that's not had a chance to be expanded.
I wouldn't say they show him a huge extent although this story does seem to revolve around him. But it keeps me happy cos at least he's there. At least there's a paletable story in there.
With Naruto my favourite character is Kakashi and the manga he's been out of it alot, but the content of the storyline keeps me reading. I kinda lost interest with Bleach Manga which I won't go into here.

Yes, anime has caught up really fast as an episode is worth abt 1.5 chapters manga is the main thng here, anime comes after And also tell a story that's not had a chance to be expanded.

I don't mind Ichigo at all, I mean the story is mainly about him, but like an orchestra you need the backup players to make the music come alive. I don't think I personally hate anyone in Bleach...Maybe Mayuri for cutting up Ishida and poisoning him grrr! I thought Shinigami were there to protect humans. Mayouri seems to have permission to experiment with anything he sees fit!

In Full Metal Alchemist the anime overtook the Manga and so they merely deviated slightly and concluded it seperately to the Manga, but both endings were equally valid.
Bleach is going the filler route, but it's doing it far better than Naruto, there's no nonsensical bakery episodes, each of the episodes is part of this new story 'arc' and actually have a purpose. Bleach fillers are 10x better than Naruto fillers but still not exactly wonderful entertainment.

i was kind of disappointed when some people were saying about how ep. 78 was filler. other than the renji/ichigo rematch, they did delve deeper into the bountou storyline; why they act the way they act, the purpose for needing ishida, etc. actually the part about needing a quincy i think they should flesh out more. i haven't had the chance to download ep. 79 so maybe they'll talk about it more then.
in any case, filler or nonfiller episodes i equally enjoy watching. gives me a reason to download something onto my computer :)

Episode 78 is filler, everything relating in any way to the Bountou is filler. The "real" storyline as such ended with episode 62 or so and who knows when it will be resumed? All I can say though is that as a Manga reader, it's worth the wait. (Subliminal message: Read the Manga! :redbiggri:musak:)

that being said, i wish there was an easy way to read the manga instead of being stuck at the computer............unless there are official manga books that can be bought.
well really i had the fillers, and fillers will always be on every anime i think. they are sometimes funny, but actulaly most of them sucks. anway they are not really good, but watching it is quite fun. i think the hollow parts on bleach were just fillers? coz they are quite boring and suddenly aftr the menos grande the scene starts to change. it turns out to be against shinigamis not hollows anymore. so i think the hollows are just fillers.

This gives me some Bleach to watch while the manga moves ahead.
I agree with most of you... the Bleach fillers are barable. I give them credit for trying to make things interesting with a story and some drama. I give them tons of credit for not repeating a bunch of hollow slaying and bankais. I wouldn't want Ichigo to be called the "one jutsu wanderer".
Considering how close the anime is to the manga, we are in for a loooong filler season. Naruto got hit with over a year of filler and I think we'll be in for a year or more also. :(

Full Metal Alchemist was a good quality anime never read the manga though.
But there did seem to be errors in the fact that Al wasn't allowed to go near water but in the flashback episode where Ed and Al are sparring with each other, Ed manages to throw Al into the water fully. And I'm sure Ed said he never won a spar with Al but that scene just totally confused everything.

I think the fillers are good for the story. I mean each story needs a character building process. Though Ichigo learned a lot of things while in Soul Society, he's losing it more and more as he's back in the real world. So now he knows that he is needing to train more on it. Just like how he couldnt use his bonkai against the modified souls.
So I think the fillers are good for enriching the story, plus allows to focus on more characters. It will give everyone a more well-rounded scope instead of entirely focusing on Ichigo and Rukia.

Ah, but the Manga doesn't focus merely on Ichigo and Rukia, that was only the Soul Socuety arc...
As for fillers... ah, come on now. There are two other option for the anime other than fillers - a break (like Tsubasa Chronicles) or a deviation (e.g. FMA). I'd say, a deviation isn't good - they rarely come up with anything good (FMA was the only I saw with a good ending, so far), and a break would be annoying - we would have less Bleach to 'do' (as in drugs). And the fillers aren't all shiet. I guess it isn't that bad.
P.S. I still think reading the Manga is da best. After all, fillers are still fillers, and what will you do if you want to know what actually happens?

I think there's nothing wrong with fillers and like you said it could just not be on at all. I think if there was no Ishida arc I would still not be watching it. I stopped before the whole Aizen thing came out because I had read the manga and Ishida more or less get sidelined. At least he's here with a not so sidelined part. Although how they get back on track will be interesting.

Yeah I am more of a manga fan with Bleach... but honestly I enjoy the fillers and have no problem with them... I say the same for Naruto although am somewhat bothered by the bombardment of fillers... but meh... like I said I enjoy them either way...

I don;t see why people have such a huge problem with fillers, the manga is still there churning out chapters if somewhat delayed but at least they are being released. What's wrong with that? I mean do people who hate fillers prefer to wait weeks on end waiting for the next couple of episodes to be converted into animes and be happy waiting? I doubt it.

Which was the first episode of this 'filler' that people seem to dislike?
