Err.. I want to buy and read the Battle Royale book (saw the movie already), but I was wondering a few things?
-What is covered in the book? (novel, not manga)

I mean.. where does the book end? Does it include the BRII storyline? or does it just have BR? And is there a BRII book?

I never read the manga. And doesn't it technically already have 2 survivors? Kawada died on the boat.

p.s. Watch the movie, and watch the boat scene at the end. Kawada's having a boner.

you said it's novel, but how come there is a manga for it? anwyay manga is only for japanese comics, if it isn't then i think it would be called graphic novels.

I'm assuming they're 2 different things by this, how they're on different pages and diff covers, etc.

Well, I have volume 1 of the manga which was written and drawn by two people with Japanese names and reads right to left and has katakana sound effects in it, so it was probably translated from Japanese, so yes, they probably have them in Japan.

I really dislike it though, it's horrible hentai manga and the drawings are ugly.

As to the book, I am considering reading it.. any opinions?

Do NOT listen to whoever says the manga is bad. The manga, in my opinion is equally as good as the novel, and I would know since I own all 15 volumes and the novel. The novel is friggin' awesome and only covers the story line for Battle Royale 1. Battle Royale 2 was an original concept created by the director of the first movie; it had nothing to do with the author of the novel. In my opinion, the movies are the worst. You should pick up the novel and if your still craving more Battle Royale goodness, I *highly* recommend the manga!

I believe Battle Royale is the only book I've read start to finish and enjoyed it.

BTW, I absolutely hate reading books, but BR was just too pure awesome-ness to quit.

It isn't a hentai manga... it may have a few more "adult" images, but they are not what he story is based around at all.

Personally, I absolutely loved the novel. It took me only a few days to finish it. I ended up reading it last November. The manga, on the other hand, wasn't something I could really get into. That was probably because of the art style. But the movie fits the novel to a T. They match up pretty well. However, I haven't gotten the chance to see the second movie. I'm looking forward to watching it, once I have the opportunity.
