Forgive me but I am new, I've watched ep 1-62 and I love the series but they're a couple things I am not certain about.....

1. Uhara, he was responsible for turning Ichigo into a hollow correct? If so, why did he decide to do it? Was he aware of the issues at Soul Society with and if he was aware then most likely he knew Aizen would back stab SS.....

2. If he knows so much about SS/Aizen and so forth that he would turn Ichigo into a Hollow then isn't there a pretty good chance he'll betray his conrads and join Aizen?

Urahara did not inted to transform Ichigo into a Hollow. That was an accident. Of course, I'm sure that he was aware of the potential side-effects of the Shattered Shaft, but he could not predict whether or not Ichigo would become part Hollow.

And also, he did not know that it was Aizen who was planning sutff. His intention was to make sure the Hougyoku (what Aizen was after) would be returned to him, safe and sound. And as I said, he wasn't sure that Ichigo would become a Hollow, but he was aware of it from the very beggining. If you read the Manga, you'll see a few more plot twists that explain further upon Ichigo's Inner Hollow.

It wasn't an accident really, it was Ichigo's own fault for being unable to 'activate' his Shinigami power. Although they didn't tell Ichigo before they cut his Chain Of Fate that he could possible become a hollow around 72 hours after being thrown into the pit.

But Ichigo's weird transformation made Urahara decide not to kill him off yet. (The mask was being formed first, instead of the body disintegrating first..)

1. I think he probably knew of what would happen. If you read the manga like what was said before you will notice he is definatly holding information (again) and he generally makes his plans seem like mishaps. He was aware of something happening in Soul Society but wasn't certain what it was completly or who for that matter.

2.He would never betray his comrads (would be a good plot twist though). He isn't full hollow and as you will see in the manga it will tell more.

I'm not too sure on the not being certain. If he wasn't certain he wouldn't have run away. It's clear that Urahara is certainly moving people about like chess pieces on a board to his own advantage. The thing is this all would'nt have happened if Urahara had not used Rukia as a container for his 'experiment'. But it is also clear that Urahara sees potential in Ichigo but what end? I have'nt a clue.

Urahara is a sneaky dude and I wonder if he's really like Mayuri but does things in a roundabout way.
