Can anyone tell me this without ruining the story?

I doubt Bleach will become like, THE top anime in Japan, but I expect more and more people will get into it. I don't foresee the plot declining anytime soon, and I have no idea whether it have the same fate as DBZ. I stopped watching DBZ due to the fact that it was the same thing over and over, but I have a good feeling that Bleach will not follow the same path, for the simple fact that it really doesn't have the same setup as DBZ.
i think DBZ has a few weak points that feed that repetitive feel. A) everybody uses the same damn move, a beam basically. everyonce in awhile it looks a bit diffrent, like maybe an energy ball but i mean damn. i miss Dragonball when they had like styles. Now everyone's the same race, and there powerups look alike and etc. I think that makes it fall a bit short. With bleach, they have styles, techniques, and diffrent releases on there blades which makes for some intresting fights and great surprises.

erm i think you need to be alot specific, in terms of what exactly? what scratches instead of blood? poor translation? huge chunks of episodes missing? what?
as 1st it has to get licensed then it depends on the licencee, n if funanimation, 4kids or toonami get ahold of it wave bye bye as they will screw up one of the best teen animes into something as boring n droal as rave master.
Narutos 1st 15 eps are currently being killed by dubbers but luckily they had aired 100+ before it even got licensed so i hoping to god tite kubos master piece will have another 80+ eps before its licensed for american/ english audiences, leading kids to believe its amazing as a crap dub n god like subbed.
I watched dbz dubbed every episode then i saw the orginals subbed they must of cut out 2 - 5 minutes of a few episodes n turned every trickle of blood into scratches!
(look at episode 127 of naruto they will cut the blood splatter n the trickles of blood on sasukes lips will become scratches i bet $2000 on it if toonami get ahold of that episode)

Can anyone tell me [why is it called BLEACH] without ruining the story?
Nothing to spoil, really. "Bleach" has no relevance to the plot, and is actually only referred to a few times in the story. Ichigo mentions that his hair is naturally orange, and is constantly being pestered by students and teachers for "bleaching" his hair when he's actually not.

Well, at least there are no Dragonballs to bring people back to life for the seventh or eighth time. Ever notice that no one stays dead for long. :rolleye09

Did you first see them on that .. I forget what it's called.. Cartoon Network, or whatever. Swimming adults. falhfe. Adult Swim?
Anyway, they cut everything to shreds. It's sad, really. I'll never forget the first time I saw Sailor Moon on there. [ Ah! There was a time when that anime was so insanely trendy... anyway ] Most of the episode was missing, and it usually had to do with side characters. CN seems to focus on main characters, in my opinion.
What really made me sad was when Michiru-san and Haruka-san became cousins that were a little friendlier than they should have been. I'd rather see normal lesbians than closet lesbians in love with their cousins ...
Beh. I'm rambling. ;D Sorry. :p:

Well...
I doubt Bleach will share the same fate of DBZ, in the sense that the Anime community now sees how much something can suck if it's rehashed... by another director...
But there is no doubt they will butcher it with their standard initiation procedure of dubbing all our favorite characters' voices with those of The Saturday Morning Hedge Hog. (I loved FMA until Toonami got to it. Pox on their families!)
...yeah... signature pending...

Why is it called Bleach? Hmm...who knows. Nirvana had an album called "Bleach", and I heard Kubo-san was a fan or something. There is also a band called Bleach here: http://www.highwave.co.jp/bleach/ . Anyway, I seriously doubt the name has anything to do with the story...or maybe it's one of those Engrish things where he ment something else. Who knows.
Or maybe he called it "bleach" because bleach covers things up, so maybe there is a hidden plot behind the 'bleach'. I give up >.>

I think they said on another thread that Bleach had to do something with Ichigo's hair. Check it...
However, it is true that bleach also gets rid of stains...
Ironically, bleach also ruins clothes. Relevence?

Lets not forget that DBZ had the highest rating ever in Japan at 22, the highest one right now is One piece at 11, naruto is at 8, Bleach is at 7.5(its a lot newer then Naruto).

Who cares about ratings? They usually totally go against what I like >.>

Ichigo use to get beaten up for being different and having bleached hair.. then sado helped him out and they promised to fight for each other..
But you can't truly know what they were thinking when they named it :p

Bleach is named after Ichigo's hair, yes. No, It will NOT have the fate of DBZ, bacause it does not get repetitive, and every episode launches the story forard more and more. I think there was only one episode that was not relavent to the story, episode 10, but even that was important cause it was mentioned in episode 11. Also Bleach does not have constipated powerups and stuff like that. The recaps in the beginning of episodes ever since the soul society arc started are getting tedious though, but I'll manage. I hope it does not show on public TV in america though, cause then all the idiots who don't even know what real anime is will think they're all cool and shit, Like what happened to Rourouni Kenshin when it was aired. If it gets liscenced for Cartoon Network I will stab myself with a Zanpakutou!!!!!!!

dragonball/z/gt were aired orginally back from late 1983! (that might be the orginal manga comics actually as most dbz posters have 1989 or just before) in japan that just as old or even older than some anime fans out there! n back then it would of been the best damn thing on tv so no wonder the ratings were so high.

so far bleach is exellent but its too early to tell really whether itll turn out like DBZ. i mean, a lot of really good animes turn bad after a long while because ideas start running out. bleach hasnt shown any signs of repetitiveness yet and is filled with heaps of originality but then, it is relatively new compared to other long-running series. we can only hope itll retain its high quality ^_^
ps. if bleach is licensed and subbed i think ill die *already depressed from naruto being licensed*

You should value the good things in life: Naruto was good while it lasted.
Now lets hope Bleach can go unlicensed for still a long good while.
If I ever make an anime, I'll never would get it licensed by those screwups...
Everyone should be equally happy with subs... No stupid chauvenism saying that things have to spoken in their language. Like most things happen in America, France and Germany... Well Japan too, but Japanese is a cool language. (at least better than French. I hate that language, not the people. I've had to study French all my life. Only to see now that it's stupid, useless and totally not cool to speak. But who cares. Belgium has it's weaknesses. Even if that weakness is called French.)

I have read the manga and so far (chapter 175) there is no sign of any repetitiveness
But there is the possibility that the next arc will be the last one. Due to current story development

Im almost positive that Bleach will get licensed, its just a matter of time. The manga is already popular and Bleach is doing well in Japan. But it might take a bit, I mean, just look at how long it took Naruto to be licensed
