well for me guys become attracted to me because of my voice, actually it is true,
my voice is really girly and really soft so i believe that when i go to any place that is new to me and start talking everybody would stare at me because of my voice

also my laugh is different and uniqe, thats what they say

i would be attracted to a guy that has kinda long hair, but not that long, i hate the guys with rough or hard voices,
also i like the guys who wear nice shoes, so if the guy is really cute and his shoes are awful, i would just forget about him and i do not like guys with beards or mostashe

hmmm.....well over the years the items most commonly brought up.

first attraction has consistently been my eyes.

But a couple of years back when I was 12, girls mostly liked me because I'm a good dancer.
nowadays, I guess because I look fine and am mostly a happy (and unarrogant) person. Or maybe because I perform on stage whenever I get the chance with whatever I get the chance, but I never thought about it actually.

To me, girs don't really have to look super hot. I think people are beautiful as soon as they look happy. Some people can think arrogant super star persons look good but I really don't think so.

Only a few guys have been attracted to me (that I know of) and I'm not sure why. I don't have the best attitude, and can honestly be a real *****, but I'm also really funny my friends say. Attraction, in my view, is based upon a person's likes and dislikes. Also, reaching back into pre-evolutionary period, it's a basic need to find the most suitable person of the opposite sex. Well, this question is a lot harder to answer than the typical "what do you see in a girl" threads. It requires a pretty good knowledge of how other people (particularly the other gender) thinks of you.

If I were to answer it though, I would probably say it would have to be my originality. Most of the girls I get hit on by are usually strange to a certain level. A type of girl who falls outside of the boring norm.

Then, they always try to understand me. lol. Silly girls, why do you always try to understand people?

Well, I do a lot of really outrageous things. 1. I consistantly dress in all black and where 3x pants that I DO keep on my waste with a good studded belt. I also where anime shirts alot and have a lot of anime merchandise (like backpacks, wallet, and key chain like things) that I keep with me that are related to anime.

Sometimes I go out whereing a Kimono (a really nice one too, but what's the point of having nice things if you don't use them?). And once I week I'll go to fencing on the bus and carry around and exposed practice saber, which usually gets a lot of attention.

Well, apparently, people like my laugh. I got the award for best laugh at project graduation for high school (which the class votes for), and I was quite surprised. I have no idea if it's actually an attractive laugh or not . . . but apparently it's good. After I recieved the award, a girl friend (no, not girlfriend) sitting next to me said, "I love it when Kurtis laughs." (My name's Kurtis.) :biggrinlo That made me soooo happy. Just getting the award was a pleasant surprise, but that comment just made it way better and really memorable. It's not often that people compliment me in ways like that. They usually just say things like, "You're really smart," or even, "You're a genius," or the worst, "You're way smarter than me." And, they might think it's a compliment, but I hate it. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the attention, but it's not true. I got good grades in school because I worked hard, not because I happened to be smarter than others, which seems to automatically assume. (Though I do seem to have a natural adeptness at math.) If they said something about my diligence, which I'm proud of, I would love it. But my favorite teacher is the only one who's ever really recognized that. Yeah . . .

But I've had a couple female peers like me over the years, so I guess I'm not completely unattractive, eh? I'm just not sure what it is about me that might be attractive, because no one's ever told me . . .

Well, apparently, people like my laugh. I got the award for best laugh at project graduation for high school (which the class votes for), and I was quite surprised. I have no idea if it's actually an attractive laugh or not . . . but apparently it's good. After I recieved the award, a girl friend (no, not girlfriend) sitting next to me said, "I love it when Kurtis laughs." (My name's Kurtis.) :biggrinlo That made me soooo happy. Just getting the award was a pleasant surprise, but that comment just made it way better and really memorable. It's not often that people compliment me in ways like that. They usually just say things like, "You're really smart," or even, "You're a genius," or the worst, "You're way smarter than me." And, they might think it's a compliment, but I hate it. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the attention, but it's not true. I got good grades in school because I worked hard, not because I happened to be smarter than others, which seems to automatically assume. (Though I do seem to have a natural adeptness at math.) If they said something about my diligence, which I'm proud of, I would love it. But my favorite teacher is the only one who's ever really recognized that. Yeah . . .

One day in psychology class, our teacher had us write lists of all the things that we look for in potential mates (or whatever) or what we wanted in them or something along those lines, and then she wrote them down on the board, without revealing who wrote what. The problem was that she separated the sections into male and female (which I think was the point). There were only something like 6 guys in the class. The girl sitting behind me (who, actually, koinkidinkilly, is the same one in the other story :p—though, it's not really that coincidental considering how small my class was) was easily able to tell which ones were mine, probably along with everyone else in the class. Part of that probably had something to do with the fact that I was the last one to finish, and she was able to keep track of it. Anyway, one of the probably fifteen things that I listed was intelligence. She just announced to the whole class something along the lines of it figuring that I would want someone intelligent, in a tone that's hard to describe, implying superiority in my own intelligence. Like other people wouldn't. By including intelligence, I didn't mean at all that I wanted someone who was superior in intelligence to most other people. I didn't mean someone who could solve a math problem as fast as I could. At all. I consider the girl who spoke to be perfectly intelligent. I meant someone with whom I could hold an intelligent conversation, or . . . I don't know how to describe it. Um . . . I hope you know what I mean. But, anyway, uh . . . I can't remember exactly where I was going with this. What attracts people to me? In general, the one recurring theme I've heard from my friends is that I'm "wise beyond my years".

This makes me very sad. While it's kinda cool that most of my friends and peers think of me as a nice person with helpful advice who can also be fun, I haven't heard too much else. (I also sometimes wonder if they don't think I'm old or something...?)

On occasion I've heard I'm handsome, and that I have a nice facial structure.

I think a total of three girls have had a crush on me for reasons I don't fully comprehend. However, from what I can gather, it probably had something to do with the fact that I offer "words of wisdom". Hoorah.

Don't get me wrong. That's great to hear. It's high praise and I hardly feel worthy of it. God alone knows why people keep saying it.

But I guess personality wise, I'm boring. The best description that my friends have given me other that being a sage is being "weird".

Trust me, this is not a good thing. When your friends consider you strange even among weird people... it's just scary. My personality isn't exactly lack luster. it just doesn't appeal to anyone in any other manner than friendship.

OK, now that I've actually read the whole thread, I'll respond to some more of the things in it. :p

What makes me special huh?

Well the fact that I stay quiet for long times. People then think that I'm totally out of it, but when I find a good chance to talk I make sure I do that well. Its the way I put forth my conversations and my overall knowledge tends to impress people around me... Unfortunately though it also marks me as a nerd at times, which makes me 'uncool' at times ;).
I'm kind of like that, I guess . . . I'm really quiet. Since I already mentioned one award at my project graduation, I might as well say another. Quietest. I'm much more of a listener than a speaker, and I just love to hear other people talk. I wouldn't say that I'm anti-social, because I like to be around people (though I like to have time to myself, too), but it probably comes across that way sometimes, because I speak so little. And, of course, again, the term nerd. The more familiar with someone I am, generally, the more I'll talk, and I'm especially shy with girls whom I like . . . Because I am shy, which is undeniably part of it all . . . I've been slowly trying to overcome that at least somewhat.

You, know, I've heard that before, and . . . it works the other way, too. In case you hadn't realized. I generally like girls who are shorter than me or short in general more. I can't tell you why, but, there it is. Maybe it's cuter? . . .

i do not know, why do people say that peopel become attracted to them just because of thier personality, come on be real, at the first time you see the person, there is must be a specific thing that you become attracted to him or her, you do not know the person's personality from the first time.

This is true, and that's where physical attractiveness is usually nice. It gives people a chance get to know others' personalities and then decide for sure if they like them. One girl who liked me quite a few years back was someone I met from out of state, and she was apparently attracted to me the first day . . . I slept over at the place she was staying for a couple of nights, so we saw a good amount of each other, but, me being my shy self didn't show too much of my personality, and I don't think we ever talked directly to each other until after. She just knew me as being quiet. She later said that I was cute when I was sleeping . . . Something got her to like me before she knew me.

And I'm not physically attractive. For one thing, I have acne that I can't get rid of. I find it ugly myself. I hope that won't last too much longer. Speaking of personalities, I think I tend to have one that agrees with everyone. I don't know of anyone who actually hates me or even dislikes me at all. That doesn't mean that there isn't someone, but I just don't ever really do things that would get people to dislike me. Um, I also got the award for the friendliest male. (By the way, I just looked at the awards and now remember that each category was awarded to a male and to a female. Also, because I think it might be important when considering these things, the class was 60 people.) It probably sounds like I'm making it up at this point. :sad: I think those are pretty good evidence of what my peers think of me, though . . . this one and the laugh one were eye-opening for me.

Anyway.. yea I know what you mean, a girl must be able to have a intellect about her. My last EX was a year below me and she could easierly out smart me. I felt something imperior to her at times, and when I asked her why she's still going out with me when I'm not as intelligent as she is, she responded with,

"You may not be as text book smart like all the other guys, but your wise, and like you've said in the past Wisdom and Knowledge are two different things".

Well, she definitely has confidence in general, but I don't think that she does when it comes to intelligence. She was the (co-)president of our class, being the only one who didn't even seem nervous at all to give a speech at graduation (of course, I'm sure she was, but it didn't look like it; she did it so easily!), and, as I said before, she's accomplished some pretty great things. I mean, I was second in my class (this is out of 60, remember), and she wasn't even in the top 14 (I don't know past that), but I swear she got nearly as much scholorship money as me. It's just that those things don't include getting really high grades, so she doesn't think she's smart, and you're right . . . I guess I would have to try to reassure her. I never got the feeling that she liked me at all, which is why I never asked her out (along with being shy and not being able to help but feel that she is way too good for me, with me still thinking that she's perfect (for me? For anyone . . .)), but, even liking her all those years, I don't think I ever gave her a single hint that I liked her. Maybe if she knew that someone so supposedly "intelligent" as me was attracted to her she would feel a little better about herself . . . I don't know . . . maybe not.

Yeah, except that wouldn't happen. Considering that I've pretty much liked her forever. And my feelings haven't changed at all . . . they've just gotten stronger. But, at this point, I'm just going to let it go (even if I still think about her all the time :rolleyes:), because we've graduated, and, I probably made a mistake, but . . . well, we're both moving on with our lives already. I will see her the week before I go off to college, but that wouldn't be a good time to "let it slip" that I have a crush on her.
