okay, I have heard really good things about GITS and I was a little confused about the order of the releases. The movie GITS is that the start of the whole GITS anime series? and GITS:SAC is that the first or second series of GITS?
also I would like to your opinions on GITS/GITS:SAC... :winking56

Hes about robot cops who hack into people, the people they hack into die,its stupid a waste of time.but the animations are nice, it just needs a better story in my opinion.

This is another anime that I watched some of 5 years ago and now I'm finishing it. It's an okay anime but not amazing or anything.

Well the Ghost in the Shell and GITS: Innocence are not linked with the events of the GITS: SAC, 2nd Gig or Solid State Society. Main reason the companies in which that produced them. Manga released the GITS and Innocence, and those events are based of the graphic novels. Now Bandai released SAC, 2nd Gig, and Solid State Society, those were written specifically o released on tv and dvd.

The movie technically comes first, but it isnt linked to GITS:SAC or 2nd gig or Innocence. Most of them are amazing, though. Feel free to watch them in whatever order you want except for Stand Alone Complex 1st and 2nd gig.

I'd say that GITS: SAC is as close as it gets to a Hollywood blockbuster, where the action and suspense is enough to carry the series, and understanding and identifying with the plot will push it to Masterpiece level. I haven't seen any of the movies, so I can't really say anything about them, but I absolutely loved SAC 1st gig, the 2nd gig was a bit messy tho.

Really? I heard that the 2nd gig was better than the first.

If you cant deal with "understanding and identifying with the plot" then you probably will not enjoy the series

Reason I liked 1st gig better is that I feel that there's a lot more coherancy in the plot. Plus, who doesn't love the Laughing Man?
The dude in the 2nd gig is kinda effed up imo, plus it ended weird.

I think both were amazing, though it could be my indecisiveness speaking... each had different things to offer, but were still a lot of fun for me to watch

Laughing Man is one of the greatest characters. <3

This among some of the first anime I've watched... It starts off slow but the story gets deeper and more interesting up until the very end. Definitely recommend this one but you really have to be patient with this one.

I do like Major Motoko Kusanagi... but Togusa is my favorite. He adds a bit of spice as the only human in the midst of cyborgs

I really like them both... Inner Universe is kind of the dark theme, which I like... both have nice rhythm and lyrics though...
