Harry Potter is gonna end with Harry dueling with Voldy... using a light saber, lmao.
I went to a nearby bookstore today. There were ads on reserving a copy. Meh, I probably should've reserved one; I probably won't get one right away.

Im viewing this site right now it says the fifth movie will be released 11/7/07 (or do you say 7/11/07? i mean 11 July=p) , but maybe thats the Dutch release although i think it will be a worldwide release.

Theres no point in reserving one, I remember when the 5th and 6th ones came out I went first thing in the morning and both times there were massive ques for reserved where as I went in grabbed one of the books and took it to the counter and was out quicker than any of them.

Expensive for a book still
Sweeney
05-07-2007, 06:08 PM
Indeed. The best part of it is how many people are going to pay that within the first weekend of the book being out. Crazy how much money this series makes on books alone, not to mention toys, games and the movies

How many times have you read each book?
For me:
Philosopher's Stone = 8 times
CoS = 7 times
PoA = 9 times
GoF = 12 times
OoP = 12 times
HBP = 2 times
Poison Ivy

Yeah.. fair enough.. I don't own any HP books either....
I'm waiting for this last one so I can get the boxed set of all 7
hardback cover ones =D
it's gunna be expensive -.-
Can't remember how many times I've read them exactly, but I'd guess Philosopher's Stone three times and others two - except HBP, which ends up with pathetic one.
Nowadays, I don't to as much re-reading as I used to. And besides, I don't own the books but have only borrowed them from the library or friends that are more fanatic than I.
(Oh yeah, hi guys. I've been following the series since book one, which I fond from the library when no one really knew anything yet about Harry Potter. I've never really been part of the fandom, though.)

Well i'm 20 and yes i read Harry Potter. The books are good although i've read much better, both in style and contents. But i can't stand the movies... You know you get a certain feeling when you imagine things happening in your head, as if in some ways you're living what's going on in the book (only in good books i find). The movies just take all that magic away from me.

Yeah, book 6 is definately most read, with 5 right behind. Actuall,y I think my order of most read would go 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. I think they got better over time
Mercurius

I like 3 the most...
and 5 the least....it's so emo in some parts -_- Harry constantly acting like it's Armaggeddon...

am I the only one that thinks this?

Possible, because in OoTP some of the Order members did mention that Voldy was preparing for something worse than the Avada Kedavra curse...if I'm not wrong >__>

I reckon HP is for all ages. :)
And yes, I've read much better books - in style and content.
The movies are alright for me, but they tend to take away that part of using your imagination to create the images of the characters, creatures, setting... all that stuff. Everytime I read the books again, I always imagine Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione, etc etc.
Oh yeah, I don't even remember how I originally pictured Harry because of the movie.

they're mostly dialogues and stuff
I guess it's to suit the country's code of practice thing
Harry Potter is PG yeah?
yeah HP is PG. It always has been at least. I think the second one was a 12 because of the basilisk.
Hmm... some elements of the movie probably is too scary for kids... so maybe a PG-13? I think this next one should be; isn't there a scene where there're brains flying all over?
adorkable
05-11-2007, 12:40 AM
Soon enough, I reckon it'll go from PG to M. I mean, in Australia, the last movie was rated M-15. And especially because of all the snogging coming up in the next films - if they do not include those parts, I'll go fucking spastic. :)

And as for how many times I've read each... for 1-5 is countless times... but for 6 it's 1. :(

I read the first 2 books in English and i understood everything perfectly but i dunno, when i read it in Dutch i don't have to think i just see the story in my head like a movie.
On the other hand, a lot of people are gonna read it in English and I dont want them to tell me spoilers..

I'm gonna try to get the English version... if I can, lol.

Right. Your elven lady friend here have very good answers for that ^_^
1. Who do I want to ship?
Harry & Ginny, Herimione & Ron ^_^
2. How many books have I read?
Your elven friend has all the complete sequels of Harry Potter so I have read all of them, the only lacking book to it is the last and final installment: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. (correct me if mispelled!)
3. Movies. Books?
Your elven has all the movie sequels and books of Harry Potter. So i'm a real harry potter fan!

05-19-2007, 05:24 AM
Hi everyone
Big Harry Potter fan (only the books) I've read every book a lot, so I have all the little details stuck in my head.
I think dumbledore is dead, the way it was written had a tone of finality in it. Also the spell Dumbledore cast on Harry lifted as well, also his portrait was in the Hogwarts Headmasters office, and it wouldn't appear there unless he probably died. However I doubt its the end of Dumbledore, I hope to hear a little about who he actually is and I think he will talk from his portrait as well.
Unfortunately theres only seven books :( I'm pretty sure JKR has said that.
If you guys want to hear my opinion on anything just ask me :P
whats the big deal about ginny being pretty in this book? are you lot going to **** over her or something lol? jks.

I really have high expectations for the upcoming film. Some would of already lost their high expectations because the other four films weren't that great, but for some bizarre reason, I really think that this one is going to break that trend. If not, then I'd obviously be very disappointed. XD

I love Harry Potter, it's my favourite series. I'm just disappointed I only own books 4 to 6 :(
As for pairings, I love Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, as well as many other pairings but most of them are gay pairings :p For those who are shounen ai/yaoi (boy love) fans, we should get along very well~!
What are people's opinions on the final book? Do you think Harry will die? Because personally, I'm hoping for J.K. Rowling to bring back Sirius (because supposedly someone is going to be brought back). I am convinced Voldemort will die but I have an incling that Harry might die in the process, if not, soon after. Also, Ron and Hermione have to get together or I will throw the book at the wall T_T Then pick it up and brush the dust off... But yeah, I would like to know what you guys think about what will happen. I'm asking this because I can't be bothered looking at all the pages... >>lazy<<

The books actually aren't that long, I realized, it seems longer because the text is bigger than other books...or, at least thats what I think. And even if it is longer, I like that better, it really gives you a sense of accomplishment once you finish a long book. xD

Do you guys think that there will be anything after the last book? Like a side story, or something? I sure hope so.

The movie might be heavily editted, since th book is so long.

Lol, Harry Potter for reading books? Lol, I had a friend that did that. His teacher didn't care. At the end of each grading period, we get a test on the book we read, and it's worth a lot of points. I got a small question (sorry if is asked already, I can't stand read 111 pages of the thread).
As the first book states. Hermonie is a all muggle born, which means her family had no magical powers whatsoever and hence she had been a normal little girl before the letter to Hogwarts arrived. Now heres the kicker, why would Hermonie's parent let her go to a... school for WITCHES AND WIZARDS? Isn't that pompous? I'll discard it as a prank if I receive such letters.
Also, the Hogwart express in the beginning of CoS (Chambers of Secrets), was supposed to be in... well another space, like in another world, how would Harry and Ron be able to see it when they were in London sky?

Wow, good points. Lol, I guess that is rather odd, eh? I never realized that. Btw, is your name written in Chinese or Japanese? Because if it's in Chinese, I know what to call you.
Lol, ok, Fei Yun, about the Hermione part: I don't know, her parents were probably delusional or something. You can say the same for Lily (Harry's mom).
For the flying car part: Wow, I really have no idea how that happened. Lol.
err i guess for the herm part id agree with guy.
the reason why harry and ron can see the train is cus they can see it normally. cus they are wizards and can see it on platform 9 n 3/4's they can see it when it moves, just like pig can see it when he comes to deliver siriuses letter at the end of prisoner of azkaban.

There are many sites and e-books claim to be HP 7, but many whom had read it found out to be only a fanfic (though beautifully written) and thus I doubt the version your friend had read are any other than the fanfics.

06-29-2007, 09:17 PM
Yeah no one likes her anyways :P
But I am interested to see how she is in the movie.
i think harry even might not get killed in the end...
remeber the prophecy, sth. like - one must die by the hand of the other, both cannot live at the same time... (even though this prophecy doesn't exclude the possibility of harry dying as well - think voldemort and he will probably kill each other at the end...)
about snape - think dumbledore told him sth. like if it would ever come to a situation like that, that he has to do no matter what, just to help harry fulfill his destiny, even if it ment killing him (d.) in the process
this was probably disscused before, if it was, nevermind it:)
another thing, know this a bit far fetched but...
you all know how voldemort tried to kill harry when he was a baby, because of the prophecy... then he also "gave" (influenced) harry with his powers, right?
now, we all know JK and her incredible plot twists that surprise us every time (at the end of every book)...
so... what if, just what if, harry was a horcrucs?!?! sth. like when v. tried to kill him, he gave him more than just his powers... maybe even a bit of his soul
that would be very very interesting, and in JK style also
analog
06-30-2007, 10:19 PM
Yeah I wouldnt be surprised if Harry is a Horcrux, and I wouldn't be surprised if he died, even though I would be sad.
I just want to keep thinking that Snape is good and he did what he did because Dumbledore told him to, but I just don't see Harry or anyone forgiving him though...
Heh, I like to keep thinking that Snape is evil. Dumbledore makes mistakes, doesn't he? Lol.
due to prior posts, feel like i owe other infos:
also 20, and read HP, so what...
books are far better than the movies, and i don't like that radcliffe character - HP doesn't look like him, nor does he act as DR portrays him.
sorry DR fans, he doesn't cut it, at all
the only 2 characters that are perfect in the movies are McGonagall and Snape... Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman = perfect match, they're also the only ones that i picture to myself while reading the books, others are either bad or too pretty (like hermione, unfortunately... grrr)
like you can see, i'm very critical when it comes to HP movies cuz i read the books xxx times...
:rolleye09
analog
06-30-2007, 11:28 PM
Yeah I am like that to... I guess I try to look at the movies of what they are, but I don't really like them. I don't think DR does a bad job its just that the screenwriter doesn't do that great of a job... I think they should just make it a series each chapter or two a 1/2 hour episode, then they could fit everything, that would be cool.

woot~
i pre-ordered the book yesterday \o/
now i'm a bit scared, can you read mindes?
lol...
yes, the best solution is to make HP a series - lot of potential
(or make it a good quality "cartoon" - but not an anime, since it would be a big problem to film all of those chapters and books in a short time)
and i would also add fillers, yes fillers - like sth. funny happened during snape's class, exloring Hogwarts,... but i wouldn't go too far, not to ruin the original plot
and also, like kenshin, preordered the book yesterday X.D

Here's my thoughts on Snape:
I still think he's on the good side. He's just acting as a spy for Voldy but really he's spying ON Voldy (don't take that in a wrong way >.>). In the fifth book when Dumbledore pleaded to Snape before he killed him, Dumbledore was actually pleading for Snape to kill him, not let him live. This was to prove to Voldy that Snape was "still on his side", as there was no other option at the time.
Yah think Harrys going kinda emo? Kinda ruined the 5th book for me.
Ive watched all the movies and read all the books. Think the 5th movie will be any good? Harry gets kinda emo in the book...
Indeed. I think Harry is turning kind of emo... But I don't think he's ruined the fifth book. He acted like a bit of a bastard but he's still the same little Harry :3

06-30-2007, 11:59 PM
I wouldn't want fillers, I think if they just stayed true to the books, maybe had some narrator to say parts where time would pass or what not, I think it could be good. I would like real people but filming all that in a good time would be hard to keep the same actors... but I cartoon might work.
As for the book yeah I need to preorder lol, I want to go to release with some people, but they still haven't decided which store grrr...
Nah, Voldy would be able to read Snape's mind. Snape may have mastered blocking-his-mind (forgot the term), but I bet Voldy can penetrate it.

Well I know they said he was one of the best at it, and I am pretty sure even someone said that even Dumbledore can't read his mind because he can block it... but maybe I am remembering wrong...
I don't know... even if Snape mastered Occlumency, this is Voldemort we're talking about. Voldemort is the strongest wizard the world has ever seen... so I think he can see through Snape.
hm, even though Voldy (what a funny nickname, lol) is one of the strongest wizards, snape is also a wizard with "dark" powers (not really a little ray of sunshine...), he's full of knowledge on black magic etc., so maybe he can resist (?)
plus, he's one of the best in Occlumency so i think Voldy can't do *hit

Yeah its been said he is one of the best, which is why Harry had to take lessons from him, even though they both have such a strong hate for each other.
But I still stick to what I said, that he could stop Dumbledore or Voldy from penetrating his mind, Voldy might be the most powerful wizard ever but there has got to be some things other people can stop.
GoldenFire
07-02-2007, 08:03 AM
hmm I think Dumbledore is potentially the most powerful wizard, he even admitted it in book 1 at the very beginning.
As for the question on what side snape is on, I'm pretty sure I know the answer by reading some of JKR's responses to certain questions.
Theres lots of points up for debate on both sides of snape being good or evil. Example you could interpret a lot of snapes actions as good, for example not really hurting Harry or give him to Voldy when he's had the chance.
Bad points include the personality of snape, it just doesnt suit him to cling onto dumbledore while everyone else kind of hates him, especially after the 6th book. It's a given that snape is very good at occlumency, since he has deceived either voldy or dumbledore.

Yeah I am rereading them all too :)
Well I am not sure it necessarily says Dumbledore is the most powerful, Hagrid does say something like "the greatest wizard" and that Dumbledore was the only one Voldemort feared. But I think Dumbledore has even said that Vodemort was more powerful then him.
Dumbledore: "Voldemort had powers I will never have."
McGonagall: "Only because you're too - well - noble to sue them." (HPSS Ch.1)
Thats all I felt like looking up now... but just before that they even say Voldemort feared Dumbledore, or so they say...
GoldenFire
07-02-2007, 09:23 AM
I understand what you're saying but, after McGonagall said that Dumbledore turned red and said he hadn't blushed like that in awhile (on his earmuffs). That means he didnt really disagree with the statement :P it was more implying that what McGonagall said is true. I did also say the potential to be the greatest wizard, doesn't mean he is :) but in my opinion he is. In book 5 dumbledore seemed to have to upperhand throughout the fight with voldemort too.
Also on another note, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I know where the real locket is (one of the horcruxes).
analog
07-02-2007, 09:27 AM
Yeah I think I know the locket that you speak of and where it is as well, its been somewhat mentioned before but was a small detail.
As for Dumbledore I always thought he was the greatest wizard as well and he was one of my favorite characters, but I was just saying its really hard to say who is with the data we have, plus Dumbledore is now dead. With Dumbledore's injured hand I am not sure he could have defeated Voldemort in book 6 if they had met.
GoldenFire
07-02-2007, 09:34 AM
hmm I see what you're saying, in that case it depends when in the storyline you are talking about. Currently Voldemort is stronger because dumbledore is dead ^^. If you are talking about when he injured his hand, then perhaps Voldemort has gained an advantage, but you do only require one hand to use a wand, and I guess it also does depend on how much damage dumbledore did receive, perhaps it was more than just his hand.
I think you're right on the locket, its described as being heavy.
analog
07-02-2007, 09:45 AM
Well I believe somewhere it said that he just wasn't himself and he wasn't reacting as quickly, but I am not sure where it says that but I am almost posative at some point someone or he himself says something about not being able to react like he used to and such, plus I don't think it was just his hand injured it was said to be powerful so probably internal damage as well?
As for the locket, yes the one they couldn't open no matter what they did.

It's true, I know Dumbledore isn't as strong as he was before since everyone say he's aged and getting old and stuff. But in book 5 he was old and he showed he was still holding his own against voldemort quite comfortably. I agree with you that when he was younger, he would've been considerably faster and had quicker reflexes than he does but that just goes to show how powerful he really is when he was slightly younger.
I want to read a bit more about dumbledore's history in the next book, like who his parents were and what he did in school. I'd also like to see his portrait in the headmistresses office :P
analog
07-02-2007, 10:03 AM
Yeah I will be interested to see what his portrait says or does if anything. I think Fawks might play a somewhat important role though, he flew off so maybe he will come back and help Harry again, somehow give him info? Who knows. More about Dumbledore would be very interesting, wouldn't be surprised if he finds out some, but I don't think all will be revealed, still mysteries on that, but to help find things Harry may need to learn more.
I understand what you're saying but, after McGonagall said that Dumbledore turned red and said he hadn't blushed like that in awhile (on his earmuffs). That means he didnt really disagree with the statement :P it was more implying that what McGonagall said is true.
nah, he was just feeling flattered i think (you know his realtionship with Pomfrey...)
i mean, he knows he is one of the best, but it isn't in his (humble) nature to acknowledge that fact, it wouldn't be Dumbledore then
+ rep - love it when ppl know their HP facts
analog
07-02-2007, 10:54 AM
Well he is defiantly one of the best, I mean the only discussion you can even consider is Dumbledore or Voldemort, but I think it just depends on the time that they fight. I could see either of them winning in many different circumstances, Books 1-5 I give the nod to Dumbledore but Voldemort is also just trying to get his powers back during that time so who knows what it would be like if he was 100% or at what he was when he killed Harry's parents. Book 6 is a toss up, Dumbledore is injured and it appears Voldemort is back, who would win, we will never know.
He said there that he was flattered McGonagall would say that, and he hasn't felt this flattered since Pomfrey complimented his earmuffs, I believe thats correct.
in any scenario, think Voldemort would've won (meaning kill Dumbledore)
just due to the fact that the only person with the abilities to kill him, is Harry (it is all explained in the prophecy)
but in a normal fight/duel, it would i agree, depend on many different circumstances like you've said blah blah.....
analog
07-02-2007, 11:16 AM
Yes I totally forgot about all the prophecy stuff that would be involved in that, but yes I would have to agree with that.

07-02-2007, 02:17 PM
Hmm, either way its a close call. I've always had the impression that Dumbledore was a greater wizard, of course voldemort is right up there. It's just the overall feeling I get, especially when Dumbledore was navigating his way through the cave near the end of book 6. It mentioned that he seemed slightly disappointed in voldemort since he is limited by his fears of death and darkness, dumbledore has shown he can avoid to killing curse, but I think I'll reread the fight in book 5. I do believe that Harry was being exploited by voldemort in the fight, if it was only one versus the other then things might've been different.
Also I do know that Dumbledore blushed because he was flattered but he didn't really disagree with McGonagall which is what I'd expect he'd do if he didn't think he was able to do what voldemort has done. It's kind of similar to when he briefly told Harry how he injured his hand and got the ring, he said something like 'forgive my lack of modesty'. It just has a similar tone, but I guess that's my interpretation of it.
It's kind of similar to when he briefly told Harry how he injured his hand and got the ring, he said something like 'forgive my lack of modesty'. It just has a similar tone, but I guess that's my interpretation of it.
bout the interpretation you were mentioning - i read translated HP books... so there might be little mistakes here and there in the way certain sentences are translated, maybe they are important, maybe not, that's the problem
but the bottom line is, you read the originals by JK, her very sentences and thoughts... mine are translated - so there could be some misinterpretations by me due to the fact that i'm reading a "second hand" book per say
so my impresion on Dumbledore is different than yours:)
(dou i personally don't really doubt in our translators, hehe)
Dumbledore is not the strongest wizard. Proof? Snape killed him.
And no, Snape is not nearly powerful enough compared to Voldemort, otherwise, Snape would have been the one destined to take Voldy down.

Well Dumbledore was only killed because he was already very weak from drinking that potion so many times, I mean Harry who could barely apparate, had to apparate them back because Dumbledore was weak, plus part of me feels that Dumbledore let it happen, I mean Draco disarmed him and then he told Draco to do ti and kill him, but when Snape came, he pleaded.

that was a very childish and amature thing to say...
reread the books, again :toocool:

Childish and amateur? No, I don't think so. If you think otherwise, please post proof here.
@analog: Good point, Dumbledore was weak at that time, but I still can't understand why he would choose death. I mean, if the plan fails, Dumbledore's death meant nothing. (of course it probably wouldn't fail... because I guess it's suppose to have a happy ending)

I really believe that Dumbledore realized the situation and he just didn't want Harry to be killed he knew he was more important, maybe he didn't have time to attack and save Harry or whatever the reason he wanted to protect him. Now also he knew that there were many Deatheaters who were coming up at that very moment, who knows.
Hmm... yeah, good point, but I still find it hard that Voldemort can't pierce Snape's mind. I mean, isn't he suppose to be the strongest wizard after Dumbledore?

it isn't about being powerful enough at all!
again, it is in the prophecy (always the GD prophecy...) - the only person that can get rid of Voldemort is Harry, because Voldemort chose him as that threat to him (not Neville!) and activated the prophecy back then when he attacked him and his parents - it was never about choosing the strongest wizard of that time
"power" was never relevant here, just the other person at the end of the prophecy
when you think of it, Harry was never some kind of big big wizard, very advanced yes and with lot of potential!, but still to young and with undeveloped powers... (maybe in 10-20 years)
he's that "powerful" and "strong" because he holds the key to destroying Voldemort
(think that kind of covers it; and sorry i can't explain better..., my "good" english limits me..........)

even though V. is the strongest wizard in the world right now, it doesn't mean he holds the monopol on every aspect of magic... so i think Snape has been fooling him quite well with his Oclumenccy

I would have to agree with everything that Geb just said, well put.
Plus Harry clearly has never been all that powerful, I mean a lot of people are better then him at many things, but the truth is only he could every destroy Voldemort, and Voldemort fears him because he knows that, which makes Harry all that much more dangerous.

Ah, so it's the curse prophecy that Dumbledore must die or else he might interfere with Harry vs. Voldemort? I see.

Being the strongest wizard means that you can't suck at one area of magic. So maybe Voldemort isn't the best wizard at penetrating other people's mind (I doubt it), but even so, he isn't an amateur at it.

Hmmm...well I <3 Hermoine/Draco and Hermoine/Blaise pairings ^-^ The hotness that is slytherins *grins*
I've read up until book six. I can't wait till the last book comes out...so I can get the box set. Anyone else getting the complete box set? *blink*
And I'd rather prefer the books over the movies. I was quite disappointed with the 4th movie. *sigh* But I guess it was expected...since the movie had a time limit...and if they stuck to the book and added more...they movie would've been super long...but I wouldn't have minded. Btw...is it me...or was Voldemort out of character in the 4th movie? *blink* Come on...VOLDEMORT...saying "friends"? *blink* The word friends isn't in his vocabulary... >.<;;;

yes, he was too "happy" to be alive again
shuld've been more reserved, cool and dark
Ralph Fiennes gave him too much emotions...
but nevermind me, i'm more into books so i always criticise the movies
(even though HP movies, as just movies, aren't bad at all :redbiggri )

The 1st-3rd movies weren't that bad actually. It was the 4th one that really got to me. *sigh* I guess I was expecting too much. *shrug* Oh well...I'm kinda not really looking forward to the 5th movie...cause that's when Harry starts to turn emo *sigh* Emo Harry should die...IMO...

I like the book, I hate the movie.
I think harry is the last.. soul part of voldemort, and the kill he used for it is Harry's mum. It would make sence. Harry is gonna die. Yay!

I didn't like the third movie... but I didn't like the third book either, so, I guess it was to be expected. Too little action, no Voldemort either.
Either the fifth movie will be incredibly long... or a lot of it will be cut down. I wouldn't be surprised by either. However, I'm willing to give it a shot because that's the book where Sirius dies.

Well they have said the time for the movie already, I can't remember off the top of my head but its not that long, thats the problem with the movies, they must appeal to the casual movie goers, the people who don't read the books but want to see the movie, and to appeal to them they need to keep the movie fairly short. Now i know I wouldn't mind going to a 4-5hr(or longer) movie, just have a intermission or something i dont know lol... But I think you must look at the movies seperate from the book and look at them alone because you can't expect the greatness to be in such a short amount of time...
Yeah, if you judge the movies by the book, then the movies are pretty bad and don't really follow it. However, if you view the movies by themselves, they're not really that bad. I like the special effects and music, so I guess that's something to look forward to.

It's official! Actress Helena Bonham Carter will star in the upcoming Harry Potter film. The fifth installment of the series, entitled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will have Bonham Carter playing the evil Bellatrix Lestrange, follower of Potter's nemesis Lord Voldemort.
Before agreeing to adapt her novels for the big screen, Harry Potter Author J.K. Rowling insisted on casting all British actors. London-born Bonham Carter, has recently appeared as Mrs. Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the voice of the bride in The Corpse Bride, and as ape Ari in Planet of the Apes (all directed by her American husband Tim Burton).
Other additions to the growing cast of characters include George Harris as Kingsley Shacklebolt, Imelda Staunton as the new dark arts instructor Dolores Umbridge, Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks and newcomer Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood.
Famous British actors returning to their Potter roles include, Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid, Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, Alan Rickman as Professor Snape, Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall, Emma Thompson as Professor Trelawney, and Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort.
British television director David Yates is directing the film, now in production. Order of the Phoenix is expected to hit theatres next summer.
OMGWTF?! That's creepy, no wonder you were schocked.

I contridict myself by saying that not ALL actors in the HP series are from the UK
I remember one being Australian (Coz I just watched HP and the PoA XD)
The Fat Lady in PoA is Australian :)
Aussies also make the mark in the movies
Edit: I'm creating a Harry Potter RP for those interested, go to the RP thread to sign up ^-^

then Hermy and Ronny will get married (under Harry's will and the love for each other)

They were talking awkwardly in front of the shrieking shack XDDDD

i think harry even might not get killed in the end...
remeber the prophecy, sth. like - one must die by the hand of the other, both cannot live at the same time... (even though this prophecy doesn't exclude the possibility of harry dying as well - think voldemort and he will probably kill each other at the end...)
like i said before, Harry will most probably get killed (being a horcrucs and all perhaps), but there is a possibility that he will live but then it wouldn't be a fitting ending for HP series...
(but i'm a sucker for happy endings so if he lives, he lives! lol)
and btw don't you think it's strange that no one else is going to die besides V. and H., i mean it is a war going on... - e.g. some other big characters like McGonagal, Snape, Hagrid, Malfoy, Weasley family...
(maybe by those 2 characters, she was thinking only on the most impotant ones - Harry, Voldemort, Hermione, Ron...?)
