noooooooooo,it looks like these spoilers are indeed true because rowling has been begging "true harry potter" fans not to read these spoilers and books are already leaked and sold.Oh well but i would'nt have mind the book if she went easy on deaths. Why could'nt it be all bad guys like those stupid death eaters that died lol.

Well I just found the spoilers on another site @_@ I'm so freakin pissed... I think these are the real ones they were talking about on the news (and ive heard some of this stuff elsewhere)

TToTT I'm half tempted when I get it to just read the ending and see if these spoilers were true... if they are someone will get shot >___>

I just found a spoiler on the internet and I found out who dies.
I won't tell you because I know you'll all hate me, and personally, I would be pissed off if someone told me the ending (even though I chose to read about it... >.>)
Four people die and one person who has died is actually still alive.
If I end up being wrong and my source of information is incorrect, I apologise.
But I do have one warning, be prepared to have a few boxes of tissues next to you when you read the final Harry Potter book.

Ack from what I read more people then that died o.o But most of them were pretty minor characters and death eaters (please dont take that as much of a spoiler, but you knew they were gonna get axed off sooner or later)

I know someone who dies. I never read it intentionally on the internet. My friend dropped it on me while talking online (grr). Apparently some guy at Walmart read the book and welcomed customers like, "Welcome to Walmart. (Name of character) dies." And, of course, he was fired.

LOFL :Haha :Haha :Haha I would've kicked that guy in the balls, thats horrible.

i am really really really disappointed of this book especially the epilogue and the deaths.I know the deatheaters are evil but so much kill offs overdid it especially some of the best characters ever.Oh well, for the final book it could have ended better.i will still buy it though.

-Quoted for Truth-

12 hours for me, kinda. Got it at midnight and bought loads of Red Bull as well so I didn't go to sleep and spent 10 hours reading it before I had to go to work, then I got home had some sleep and read the rest in 2 hours.

She better not die. Because I don't want to see Emma die in the movie.

Just finished the book (and series) and I just have to say that it was a MASTERPIECE!!!

The seventh book was undoubtedly the best in the series, in my opinion, and the chapter, "The Forest Again," had to be my favorite in the series.

So much occurred in such a "small" book and so much was explained that I am utterly speechless.

Wonderful ending to a wonderful series. I sincerely hope she doesn't continue with any more books ever because the series truly ended there and anything else would sully this magnus opus of literary achievement.

Artemis
07-22-2007, 07:46 AM
@Xion: She said in an interview that she doesn't plan to write anymore. She isn't ruling it out, because she doesn't want to commit, but she doesn't plan too.

But she said she may write other Harry Potter affiliated books. Like 'Quidditch Through The Ages', which was a book mentioned in the series. She may actually write it just for HP fans.

But, for now, she's a full-on philanthropist. :)

Xkavanger

Lolwait... wut?

Scorch: But ishi said that she won't say no to making more Harry Potter books :\

Imma look that up :)

Artemis
07-22-2007, 11:05 AM
@Kava: no more regular Harry Potter books, but more into the fan-type books. Like she's thinking of making novelty books.

Like she may write a book that appears in the library of Hogwarts, or write something that isn't related to the storyline, just more of a fun-to-own type book.

Hang on, Kava you done reading HP7?

adorkable
07-22-2007, 12:06 PM
I really hope JK does end up writing another book like Quidditch Through the Ages, if not continuing the Harry Potter series itself. But there was an epilogue already, yeah? So I doubt she'll write another one of Harry's adventures.

Artemis
07-22-2007, 12:16 PM
I reckon anything that involves Harry directly (like HP8) will be kind of too much. Like, the story is already over. Extending it will be just to... too.... basically overkill.

Voldemort was always the main enemy. He's dead. Let Harry and his gang live in peace.

We need to start a thread that permits talking about the final HP with spoilers.

Like a thread for those who have completed reading the final book, and we can all discuss it without having to say: "I can't tell because it would spoil it"

Anyone up for it?

Xkavanger
07-22-2007, 12:36 PM
Nope... had to stop coz I gotta work on the RP and do my h/w T^T

I'm a fast reader. But this time.. I want to cherish every moment. >_>

So that means Chapter 3 made me cry, lol.

go on then scorch, anyone who enters is at their own risk of crying.
btw over 60 ppl dies in the last few pages of the book alone.

Artemis
07-22-2007, 01:36 PM
It's a bit less that 60, M-50...

Anyway, we'll wait for a few more days, when more people have finished the book.

If it spoils you, it's your own fault.

Geb
07-22-2007, 02:16 PM
magnificent book, LOVE the ending

the only thing i resent JK is killing Fred.... argh!! you can't kill one of the funniest characters in the book... *tears*
she could've killed McGonagal, Flitwick or even... Hagrid... i was very shocked when he died
ah

another thing, i think there should've been more action or whatever when Snape died.. idk, just have a feeling that the whole Snape thing ended up too quickly

We need to start a thread that permits talking about the final HP with spoilers.
you can do it right away... imo

scorch 50 died in just the battle for hogwarts, about two in the ambush at the start from the orders side, about 5 from the death eaters, voldy kills gregorovitch and a couple of others himself, take them all together and you get what I said.

Yes.

The seventh book was 100x better than the sixth.

I'll assume you ignored the overarching themes and issues dealt with in this final work of the epic series. You know, the ones about confronting one's death, learning that nothing is black and white, and not to mention the whole amazingly well-done plot revelations and humanization of characters.

The sixth book did not have any of that.

Guy
07-23-2007, 03:02 AM
Personally, I thought the sixth book was the worst of the series so far... It was the only book that I didn't reread over 2 times. The only poignant scene from it was the scene where Dumbledore dies.

It is also the only book I didn't read over two times aside from the seventh (mainly because I read the other five six years ago or so and just got around to reading them all again, nothing personal against the book).

And yes, the sixth was not exactly my favorite either.

adorkable
07-23-2007, 05:04 AM
Imo, I reckon the sixth book was actually pretty good. I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn't my favourite. I haven't read the seventh book yet, so I can't say that it would be my favourite (we'll just have to wait and see...). My favourite would probably have to be the fourth or third book.

Guy
07-23-2007, 05:53 AM
Haha, I might be the only one here, but I think the fifth was the best so far. Rowling really made Umbridge a truly evil person, and I could feel Harry's indignation.

07-23-2007, 06:03 AM
The fifth book took me forever to read! Haha, I don't know why, but I was just really not into it. One of the main reasons why I didn't like that book was because of Harry's *****-fits and him yelling at almost everybody. Imo, it was a pretty boring book too. The battle at the ministry was the only intriguing part really.

I present...

THE HARRY POTTER DISCUSSION THREAD!!!!

You may ask, 'how is this different from the one we're using right now?'

Well, my good people, this will allow full discussion of the final Harry Potter book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Without the need for spoilers, yes, you can talk about ********'s **** and how ******* and ****** have *******!!!!

Haha, I might be the only one here, but I think the fifth was the best so far. Rowling really made Umbridge a truly evil person, and I could feel Harry's indignation.

The fifth book was my second-favorite. Right after this one.

And yes, the evilness that was Dolores Umbridge truly made me get into that book. I wanted her to die a horrible death...sooooo badly. I was disappointed when I found out she was alive in the sixth. :(

The fifth was an extraordinarily good book.

Night Prowler
07-29-2007, 09:47 PM

Geb
07-29-2007, 10:05 PM
ok, i saw the movie, thank god..... it took me longer then i expected... c c c

(movie as just another movie in the cinemas)
it is great!! the best HP movie so far, really enjoyed it, great new director, like his style very very much, excellent !! great effects, new actors (Umbridge, Luna)
one of the best scenes was when Dumbledore held his welcome speech and Umbridge interrupted him (*cough cough*), and then Alan Rickman's face...... priceless - Severus Snape ftw!!!!!!!!!!

(movie as in a HP movie edition)
hm, the book was to big so they had to cut lots of stuff, too bad...
didn't like the changing in plot (Cho = snitch)
the part when the Weasleys leave - even tough the effects were cool, think there should've been more stunts they pulled in the book (e.g. the swamp thingy...)

The Movie was good. The effects and music were absolutely brilliant and Dolores Umbridge was amazing

Tough (can't blame them) the movie felt very rushed...so for me the 3th movie is still the best.

_Natla_Uryu_
08-12-2007, 05:55 PM
I liked how they chose the perfect Umbridge. I liked the second movie. I just wish that they would make a perfect fanatic's edition and put every single thing in a movie that they would in a book.

But... I believe that would be hard to do, but... I don't like how some parts contidict what happens in the book... Sort of like, in the movie, it says Neville gives Harry gillyweed. Dobby gives it to him in the book. I haven't seen Peeves or Winky.

I find it rather boring.
