View Full Version : Blank water

Sometimes I feel blank like water.
Yet within those ripples dreams are born.
And when the seasons pass I change.
To embrace the thing called life.

To gaze up to the moon from my surface.
Or to touch the sun in his fiery throne.
And to count the stars in theyr cradle.

And as the years pass by.
The ripples will reach distant shores.
And those ripples may come back to me.

Asking me to tell them my story.
Or my name.
Or even telling me that they’d like to see my face.

And I’ll tell them:

Look at the sunset with the lines of distant birds.
That’s my story.

Listen to the heartbeat of the earth.
And you’ll hear my name.

And if my face you wish to see.
Just look at the water.
Those ever flowing ripples of colour.
Those are my face.

R.P, that's a wonderful poem. I loved it tremendously. Besides a few spelling mistakes (but whoever needs to change them), the stanza which I dont particularly get is the last one:

And if my face you wish to see.
Just look at the water.
Those ever flowing ripples of colour.
Those are my face.

Could you explain to me? Please :biggrinlo

Hey Iladys.

Thanks for the kind words.

Hmm how to explain it? Imagine the face of a lake(or any body of water for that matter). It has different colours depending on what weather there is, what time of the day it is,what season it is, what grows around the lake etc. So you can say that the colours are like moods or feelings.

Now to explain what the ripples are. You throw a stone in the lake, it creates ripples. A fish jumps out or a waterbird lands on the lake, they create ripples. Or it could be a light breeze that creates ripples (or a storm/tornado anything that moves the water). Think of the above like experiences. Yes a ripple disapears after a while but the energy of what caused will always remain in the lake (The stone will go to the bottom. The fish lives in the lake and the birds may breed etc) changing it forever even in the most minute way.

And feelings and experiences are reflected on your face aren't they?

So to make long things short: colours+ripples= moods/feelings+experiences. and these are reflected on peoples faces.

Hope that I explained it clearly, :D
