Ha talking about nans. Mine from my fathers side is very english. She wouldn't eat anything thats foreign. She only eats english food.

Yeah she only eats foreign foods that have been around since the war time. My nan refuses to touch all other foreign foods tho. We took here out to a Chinese restaurant once and she made them cook her chop chips and peas even though it wasn’t on the menu. Then after the meal she complained to the waiter "that’s the worst chop chips peas I ever had"... It was so funny in that slightly embarrassing way, we haven’t been back to that place since.

Ha.. It’s like she finds it insulting to her traditional British culture. She says she hates curry, she complains about it all the time! Then one Christmas I got her drunk on snowballs and she admitted that she eats curries all the time when no body else is around... why? She’s completely out dated tho. Some of the things she says to people are just awful. I really don’t go to see her anymore because I find her really old fashioned thinking incredibly offensive.

Just like mine, incredibly offensive. My nan seems to slag off my mother, who is asian front of me forgetting that I'm part asian.

Yeah I know what you mean, it smells pretty bad. The way the jelly moves around in your mouth before you force yourself to swallow. I can’t understand why people eat it either. Its one of those things your nan loves to eat at a carnival or local fair or something.

Oh yeah? Well I dare someone to eat fermented fish. The smell is enough to make me pass out. >_>"

Yeah I’ve been researching into fermented fish a little over the past few weeks to see if that could de-thrown you but alas foetal eggs still prevails... Why would anyone want to eat rotten fish anyways?

well us Japanese ppl eat fermented beans, so why not bring on the fermented fish?? (j/k) I would have no idea what that would taste like let alone smell like... >_< but as long as it tastes good and becomes a regular delicacy, i'd be willing to try it out.

I eat something similar to natto...it's fermtented tofu, instead of the actual bean. ^-^" it's sort of bitter...but it taste really good when it's extra spicy and you are suppose to eat it with rice. ^-^"

As for my fetal duck egg, yeah no one can touch that. ^-^"

Trust me you don't want to try eating fermented fish...if you happen to get it on your close/skin etc...you are going to smell like it for 2-3 days. Even after washing/take a shower 3-4 times.

So yeah plus the smell is overwhelming

I've tried to buy them but I don’t think you can get them over here. I found a site that exports them but I could only buy packs of 2 dozen or so. Even tho its impossible I worry that they would be somehow incubated by hot pipes and continue growing in the mail. Then I'd crack my egg open to find a very red fully grown chick. I'm not sure if I could eat that. especially if it had thrown up on itself whilst being boiled to death...

Nothing too fancy. Just snake, sliced jelly fish, and whole baby octopus. I've been offered a live leach in sauce, but turned that one down. ohhh and I ate a golf ball sized chunk of wasabi once.... don't highly recomend that one. Fell out of the tree I was in. And I've seen the chicken fetus thing before. Quite repulsive in appearance. Once again didn't try that one. I would have in highschool, but I don't have that iron stomach any more.

Heh, to get good food in asia it usually depends where you go for food, the will be restuarants that have stinky tofu and it tastes real bad, then there'll be those guys out on the streets with their mini stalls selling the same shit but only it tastes heaps good. Strange I say, its a CONSPIRACY!

Why? is it somewhat illegal or immoral to eat/drink a rodent? Did they think it was some form of devil worship... we all get mistakenly accused of dabbling in the occults from time to time. If I had to drink a rodent I’d insist on being able to soda stream it first.

I got a brevel pie maker for my 14th birthday... I didnt really ever eat pies, just the wonderment of making you own pies... I had no other option. Then I realised that making pies really wasnt worth the effort. I dont think I ever managed to eat anything from it. Got a toasted sandwitch maker the year before... I dont know why? cheese and acorn toasties... I had to take the fuse out of it after that for fear of what I'd make myself next.

To prepare them they leave them the whole night in like a bucket full of corn grains with a lid on, they eat all da corn dats inside and the next morning when theyre cooked they pop up like popcorn and look all funny like, (taste like **** from what i remember). Well, i have drank something that was really weird
Me and a couple of mates once made what we called "The Ultimate Drink".
It consisted of loads of different fizzy drinks (Pepsi, 7UP, Fanta, Cherryade etc), Yoghurt, tea, things we could find in the fridge such as Cheese, cream, butter...we also put like different spices and seasonings into it, curry powder, salt, pepper, garlic......

basically, it was the most disgusting drink ever....

just the thought of it is making me sick =X

I ate Squid Salad... But I liked it!

It was raw and had a distinct flavour of soy sauce.. I dunno what the sauce was exactly, but it was light and red o_O
The squid was raw and it was crunchy and chewy
Imported from Japan ^-^

Yeah that a food..not a mistake because there are a lot of people that eat it. >_>" It grosses me out, so whenever my mom cooks it I just stay over at my friends house or something. >_<"

Ah I remember what it's called in English, it's called Balute egg. Basically Fetal duck eggs. >_<"

Dood...that's a filipino delicacy. Lol. Anyway...and Balut isn't the english word. The english name for it is Duck egg. The filipino name for it is Balut. Anyway...that stuff is actually pretty good ^-^ Don't get me wrong though...I don't eat the bird...I just drink the juices inside and eat the yolk part ^-^ MMM....add it with salt and its delicious!

Hmmm...but the weirdest thing I have ever eaten is cow tongue. >.<;;; Ehhhh...my bf's family LOVES that stuff >.<;;; It tastes really weird and nasty >.<;;;

The weirdest food i ate was a soup with a bull's dick. It's called 'soup number 5' and they say that it is a love potion because it's more powerful than a viagra.

well one time my mom bought some doggy treats for christmas for my 2 dogs, however, they looked like normal cookies, i had one, i tasted a bit funny, but seeing as how i didn't know it was for the dogs, i kept eating b/c i didn't want to waste what i have already started, and my mom saw me eating the doggy treats, and she couldn't stop laughing, she told every relative we have, and now i have this "doggy treat eater" reputation.

Weirdest? Maybe "Balut" (fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell), I don't find it weird though. I just eat the duck embyro without even noticing it. Good with salt too.

Something on my desk... i thought it was a piece of the pizza bun i had been eating moments earlier. Whatever it was, it was bun coloured but didn't taste like bun.

Finished eating it before i could stop myself though... I would have guessed half an eraser, but the texture was different. :D
