I was just wondering one thing. I've looked around on many threads and I have been ancountering the word filler. I don't wuite understand this since I'm quite new to the anime world but I think that it means episodes of a serie that doesn't follow the manga. Correct me if I'm worng, but I read in a thread that the fillers would end in the early 90's or 100's and then I thought that they would end the Bleach anime!

So please explain what it means.

Sincerely// SK

filler = episodes that arent in the manga. If im not wrong the current filler arc is from 63 onwards, not sure when it ends, sucks, and is utterly not wartching.

The Bleach Anime is based on the Bleach Manga... so in order to let the Anime continue they got to know what happens in the Manga...

BUT the Anime was getting up with the Manga, so they introduced the Filler arc a (stupid) arc that has nothing to do with the manga. Made to allow the Manga to get space again between the anime and the Manga.
It starts around Ep. 65

I was talking to a friend about the Naruto fillers and my guess is that they inserted the 2year gap in the manga so the anime could do what they wanted for 2 real years while the manga has time to tell a story and get on with it. I have a feeling that Naruto fillers will continue for another year.

The problem with fillers is though that although people know fillers are rubbish they still download them and watch them and then moan yet again.

I stopped watching Naruto because the episodes are boring, but it allows the sub cast to come fourth and have stories of their own. But only if you like the sub cast. I don't watch most of the Bleach fillers and Ishida is my favourite. I don't really read the manga's because at the moment all the limelight is on everyone else. If u don't like it don't get it. Simple, but we like to moan don't we?

Fillers are basically anime episodes that do not have to do with the manga.

Most people think that fillers are anime episodes that do not do anything to the story. That's false, however.

How close was the Anime to the Manga after the SS Arc?

Well, there were like two or three more episodes that like summed up the SS arc…don’t know if you can count those as part of it…im unsure..
but after that it went into a filler arc which was not in the manga at all so I guess that the manga is not close at all to the current anime…also anime characters were introduced as well as everything else that goes with a filler.…was that your question…im unsure about that also…
im a very unsure person lol

No I meant they had to make fillers cause the Anime was catching up to the manga. I mean how close were they? 10-15 episodes away figuring episodes are 2-3 chapters.

I really don't have any problems with fillers in general. But they have acquired a horrible reputation with popular anime such as Naruto and Bleach. Anime progresses naturally faster, so I wouldn't complain with the occassional arc or two. What I do mind, is that the low quality work the animators and story writers put into them.

Fillers are a means to gap between the anime and the manga. However, they are now seen as a break in which the masses are forced to watched BS while the staff pays no attention to the production, probably getting laid. It is the chance for the creators to expand the storyline and give further depth to the characters. Instead, they decide to dig plotholes and feed their cast crack. So much crack, that the cast mutates into deformed abominations. I'm not asking for much, but it wouldn't hurt to redraw a couple scenes if your inking pen leaked, instead of making your viewers wonder why Ichigo is talking to the state of Italy, since Rukia's face resembles a lop sided boot.

Naruto filler has made me resort to drowning myself in 'Naruto Goes Away and Comes Back Totally Emo and Shags Hinata' fanfiction because seriosly, WHY DOES EVERYONE SUDDENLY LOVE AND APPECIATE NARUTO?! And Bleach filler makes me cry because it is forcing me to conclude that Orihime is AS USELESS as everyone thinks.

I think everyone can agree on the quality of One Piece (DAMN YOU 4KIDS) fillers. They are strategically placed during the plot, and are usually centered around character relationships, and give the viewer insight on minor characters (Koby Arc). I thought it was really creative of them to base an arc on their RPG game. They are never more then 6 episodes long, and are used as a means of relieving stress after important events. We get it. We do not need 70 episode plot relief. All that makes me feel is that you rushed the anime and you need an equal amount of episodes for the manga to catch up.
