Sorry to make another announcement but me and Unholy are on a bit of a roll.

After 7 months of things happening, and not happening, the Bleach FanDub is almost complete! Here, as a teaser for you guys, is a small clip from the upcoming release due out sometime this week. Hope you all enjoy, watch and review please. This is the first we've tried compiling so it may not be the best quality... but as this goes its going to get much better. Cheers.

Me and UnholyGodn spent most of the night gathering sound effects and compiling all the voices and music tracks.

Interesting outcome. Albeit short the trailer was quite good. You guys ought to continue dubbing this. Good job on this people and keep it up :).

as an anime elitist i absolutely hate dubbed anime, and wasn't looking foward to the fan dub, but after that trailer, i can't wait to see it. you guys are doing a great job so far. it sounds awesome. keep it up.

Er... couldn't we find someone that's actually a woman for the part of the little girl ghost?

The compiling wasn't all that bad, though. I quite liked it, though the file size might have been a bit big for such a small file. In the end, you guys are going to have to find a way to shrink it significantly.

Could have almost sworn I heard some sort of Cartman impression for one of the punks. Didn't really convince me that they were tough street punks, but then again, I guess their lines aren't all that important. I am a bit dissapointed with myself, though. Wish I had my current microphone back then, because the quality of my lines is pretty bad. I also sound pretty flat. Then again, might be just my self abusiveness coming through.

Hmmm.... well, except the little shim's voice (XD), and the fact that the street punks sounded like they were high... and the fact that a couple of times Ichigo sounded high too... it was good. I wonder how will it be after you guys release the full episode.

you'll need to run all the tracks through a mixer to set the sound levels a bit more evenly when the punks were talking in the background the sound level was too low I know this is a lot of work and you've definitly done some nice work.

I have a problem. When I try to watch the preview, the video works but I get no audio, and I get the following error message:

Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)

Can anyone point me in the right direction of the proper audio codec?

We shoulda mentioned that a few of the voices were just temporary 9most noticably the female ghost) since most of them were done by me in like 3 seconds, we do plan on ironing out audio issues like different volumes as well as work on our encoding for the final release, this is just a sneak peak at what our skills are like now, and we are rapidly learning and improving as we go :)

PS: hope you like the sound effects, took me ages :(

PPS: The punk voices are going to be random, its a funny scene, and they need funny voices :) if you lsiten, they are funny in the anime too :P

the sound effects were good just be very sure to have a well documented data base to keep them in you'll need a lot of them and it'll be alot easier if they are well tag'd.

Just watched it, Ichigo's voice is good, not bad, however I don't think its deep and aggressive enough, its weird I've heard the exact same sounding voice in a real dub that was bad (not saying the voice was bad) even though none of you have done anything like this before, please just make Ichigo's voice a bit deeper and for when shouting a bit more agressive, listen to him in the original, also please don't make little mistakes like saying oni-charn, its pronounced oni-chan, please fix that, overall it was good, I liked the 3 guys voices XD.

The ghost was done by me in like 3 seconds for god sake, its englsih so we wont be even saying oni-chan in the final version, wish people would stop nit picking freaking filler voice.

Ichigo is a fifteen year old boy, his voice shouldn't be all that deep. Morita Masakazu's take on Ichigo is not the same thing I'm going for in this fandub. I'm twenty years old and pretty much using my casual voice for Ichigo, but with a bit more of an axe to grind.

I'll try to see what I can do with everyone's suggestions for the next episode, though. So far, it seems a few people don't think I'm deep enough. I'll work on that, but I'm not going to dive all the way into the deep end of the pool.

This is annoying I want to say this but I don't want to offend any of the people subbing it, but I feel I have to so hear it goes. Ichigo's voice reminds me of Joe from the Yu-Gi-Oh dub, when he says you bastards he reminds me of Edward Elric from the Full Metal Alchemist dub. And you saying "Morita Masakazu's take on Ichigo is not the same thing I'm going for in this fandub" which is basically "I don't agree with the original voice actors representation" you're doing exactly what most dub people do and are going to fall into exactly the same hole, and will immediatly stray away from dedicating the dub to the original by having a completely different voice tone, representation of age, you'll do different levels of shouting or showing emotion compared to important scenes in the original where you could by doing so do just as well as the original or completely **** it up, for example the scene in full metal alchemist when Ed finds out what Fry Tucker has done with his family, nowhere near as emotional as the original because they wanted to represent it differently, please try as much as you can to keep the dub an exactly accurate dedication to the original.

Sorry if I offened anyone in that, just want to express my opinion, and help the dub, and thankyou for saying you'll try to be a little bit deeper.

Edit: and yes like Byakuya7 I also think the sound clips go well against the animation, that was well done, and I liked the 3 guys voices a lot as well.

I just saw the trailer and I have to say that it's very well done. The voices fit well with the characters and the compiling of the sound clips is accurate and flows well with the animation.

For what it's worth, I think your voice (ichigo's voice) is well done for english translation. I wouldn't change it in anyway :D

Well, Sciky, despite all the negative sentiment, comparing my voice to Vic Mignogna was actually a compliment. I'm one of many who think that the dub for Fullmetal Alchemist was equally as good as the Japanese one, and in some aspects, better. For example, I preferred Vic's Edward to Paku Romi's.

Does that make me some sort of heretic? Give me a break, of course it doesn't.

However, when I say "I'm trying to do something different than Morita," you're extremely out of line in saying that I'm also saying "I think what Morita is doing is wrong." Do not put words in my mouth. What you fail to understand is that Japanese is a different language than English. They are incomparable and as such... well, you can't compare them. What works in Japanese isn't going to work in English.

By the way, most "dub people" do a good job. The only people I would shake my finger at is 4kids.

...Ichigo isn't SUPPOSED to sound like Rambo, you know. :P I thought he sounded really natural; and of course the English VA isn't going to sound just like the Japanese VA (a dub CAN be good without being exact). Great job, Kagebu. XD

I have complete trust in Kagebu to portray Ichigo with as much emotion as calls for, and never falter. I knew some people weren't going to like the dub.. (mostly the people who refuse to say dubs are any good) but thanks for the criticism anyway... at least we know you're concerned about it. No we aren't making it the same as the Japanese, so get over it. We WILL make this good.

SHUYIN, PLEASE!!! REad the posts before flaming the damn thread, I have said at least the 4th time now, THE GHOST IS A TEMPORARY VOICE SO THAT WE COULD RELEASE THE TRAILER, IT WILL BE REDONE FOR THE FINAL. The girl ghost is just my voice with the oitch raised and echo added, far from anything we want in the final.

PS: I'm hoping to work on a more complete trailer, hopfully work out a few more bugs I'm not quite happy with and release the trailer fully like on the Bleach Portal front page and get more opinions on it, we want to make this really good, so the critisim is really good, but please read our replies before making a critisism already answered many times.

PPS: We'd appreciate it if you removed the YouTube video untill it is complete so we dont get this out while its unfinished, people will take it as final work etc and diss the crap out of it and wont understand, when it is ready for You Tube, Hamstar and I will do so, thanks for looking out for us though, just wanna keep this thing forum bound until we have a more rounded result for everytone to see, mabey even a longer sample.

I've gotta say, the voices of the "punks" kinda bugged me a little, mainly because they acted a little too unintelligent and their voices weren't very clear.

I like!!! make it more...It will probably beat the real english dub if/when it happens...keep this up and maybe people might hire you guys :) I disliked the females ghost (yes I read the posts and know why so I am not flaming...merely stating the points) I did like the punks...except for the one who got his head thumped into the ground...he sounded weird...I loved ichigo and find tht way more fitting for a teenage student then what the japanese use...although I will miss his aggresive sounding voice I like what you have done and can only say keep up the good work

Well..... it was crap.... The only thing I like or 'who' did will would be Ichigo's voice. The 3 guys, just sounds horrible. One of them were kinda of in the voice synch I think. Anyhow, good luck with it, since I know your all new to it. Hopefully understand that this is simply my opinion on the matter.

I am not much of a (fair) dub critic, but I can say that I'm quite impressed with what you've done. I mean, you can tell it was hardwork and you pulled it off. Great job with the sound effects, too. ;3

We are working on releasing a final version of the Episode, HOPFULLY tomorrow, if not this weekend. We might release another trailer but probably won't be worth it since we are so close to completion, if we have to delay for whatever reason, we'll definatly give a better trailer.

I really liked the job that Kagebu did-- I think it needs to be a tad more... "rough" (mean?) to fit Ichigo, but it's a good voice for anime. I can actually see him voicing a lot of characters.

The punks, while silly (and they're supposed to be), were way too hard to hear-- you may wanna play around with a mixer or something to make them easier to hear.

this was pretty awesome.. i mean i've read the posts and i know your going to fix it up.. just mainly work on the different volumes of the voices.. cuz one is too loud and then one is too low... i kept raising and lowering the volume lol.. i like ichigo's voice.. he did a good job! and even though the girl was a dude it's pretty good as well... and the punks are supposed to be stupid guys.. they were stupid in the original and their stupid now too... i like it when that one punk was like "aaa dude!" lol! good job! i'm scared of hearing my voice though.. even though i'll be on for like 2 seconds.. cuz i'm only the reporter lol!
