I really liked the first one, second one was more appealing. The third one was kinda disappointing though. Looking back at the first 2 games, I thought the graphics were really good, even for an old game.

Ya, AoE was really fun. However, they lack custom maps like SC and therefore make it boring after a while real quick.

yeah AoE II was great. The third was a major let down IMO wasted good money for it to. :(

I thought the scenario editor for AOE3 was more complicated and harder to use. And I found the whole game too complicated as well. Should have stuck to the simple style like the first two.

I still have it and I still think it is great, it's about the only decent PC game (except for WoW) I have.
Because I always game on my Xbox...

I say aoe3 was one of the best game Esemble Studios made. I just love AoE3 for its graphics plus new things such as, builing a deck, upgraing your level so you can get new deck cards for you to use when you have XP points during the play, etc... Oh and dont forget about the cannon stuff, I just love when cannon fires.. :)

AoEII was awesome. Esemble kinda went downhill after that, not that AoM or AoEIII are bad or anything.

Aoe 2 was the best among three with it's conqueror's expansion because of the campaigns

I have the second one and though it was pretty fun.

I didn't like how the third seemed exclusively for colonizing America and didn't buy it. (I like to play as my Asian and ancient civilizations)

I have to admit, AoE is one of my favorite strategy game franchises. (other than Command and Conquer, of course)

- Age of Empires 2 was good, because of the realativly simple gameplay, and the campaign mode was awesome. (especially in the expansion as the Huns)

- Age of Mythology was also a good game in my opinion because of it's introduction to new elements: God powers, favor (a new resource), myth units, heroes, diverse civilizations (on how to collect resources, and strategies). Although, in my opinion, the expansion with teh Atlantians was total hax! (way too powerful)

- Finally, AoE 3. The good side of this expansion was the introduction of gunfire warfare, as well as large scale battles. (try playing the Russians, lol) The Home Base was also interesting, but after a while, was a litte tedious. Overall, still a good game.

I read about AoE3, it didn't appeal me much. 1 was a classic, and 2 was probably the best one (200 population was the greatest thing ever. MASSIVE BATTLES. especially on team games., made for some epic fights, haha)

I did not like the 200 population limit. I wish you could go over that limit. I thought having 200 men wasn't enough.

Yeah but if you go over 200populations, the server is going to lag majorly.

I used to edit my map, creating a scenario and placing more than 200 mamelukes and crossbowmen the computer slows down but when the pop. is low it turns to normal... The fight is too bloody and i lost half of my men

Yeah true to that. Guess that is one really negative point about having a large number of units in the map.

I prefer making my own map. I meen you can put limited units or yours and emeies and let them have battles. But I goto Death Match only if I wanna play normaly. But usualy I like how the units I created fight each other in my own map. Its cool...

**Tip: NEVER EVER put 'ranged' units when you want to build army in your own map... THey give EXTRA EXTRA lags, but if you have 500 orl ittlebit more of infantry units, its doesnt lag much but in my case I dont get any lags.**
