Well it is for some because you dont have to watch the anime to understand and appreciate the movie but for some you do like Evangelion I watched a little bit of one movie and I was like WTF but I know its a good series because all the good things I hear about it and I'll watch the series then watch the movie and then maybe I'll like it.

I completely love Adolesence of Utena (aka, Revolutionary Girl Utena the Movie). The Ah! My Goddess movie is also one of my favorites. As for movies not attached to a series, Perfect Blue was awesome.

And... *gulp* Inuyasha movie 3 (come on! It had blood and zombies and felt like a BOY'S anime! Unlike the anime which started off good and became a total sexual tension fest with one shot youkai baddies and a really annoying prime villain ._.')

Anything that's made by Miyazaki is worth watching. My favorite movie of his would have to be Spirited Away. Princess Mononoke was awesome too.

Eh.. But generally, I'd say Ah My Goddess the movie is my favorite as of now.

Perfect Blue has to be one of the best Anime movies I have seen (even though it Scared the SH*T out of me the first time I watched it

Love it X3 number one favorite anime. Seen all episodes and now reading the manga. The manga is quite different than the anime, and is suppose to go on longer. ^^ can't wait till the movie also.

I loved this manga while it was being scanlated~ granted, it does appear to be about football..and although that is part of the occurances it is surrounded in, it's mainly about a youth named Sena, who throughout elementry and middle skewl was nothing but a gopher to 3 bullies~ he was forced to run and get whatever they needed, and he didn't kno any better. Well, now young sena has entered highschool, and meeting a cheery fat fellow who loves football, he reluctantly joins~ planning on being the spy/coordinator for the team (he's a thin guy, who doesn't like the whole idea of being tackled, for any reason). Well, things change after the captain of the team shows up~ now, to truly understand the cruelty and awesumness of the captain, you'll have to read this manga. Oh yeah, and i'm not clerifying what happens next~ Lol. FIND THIS MANGA~! tiz truly inspiring and hillarious. (Btw, if anybody has a chapter past 40, plz lemme kno~)

Yeah Im talking about air one of the other anime that i am watching with bleach. it pretty good i just got the first 5 and man im telling you that its worth watching it they us computer graphics. and the art is alsome

Yeah, i'm loving it too~ it's one of those anime that you never quite kno what's going to happen next, but it's slow enough you dont get lost in it all, lol. I'm really enjoying this series ^_^

first i ever watched was Vultron, way back in the day. I used to get up early to see that whenever it was on mornings, and then for a while it was playing hte last 30 minutes of skewl..so i got a tape and recorded it, every night, lol. Back then i didn't kno it was called "anime", but i loved it~ then i saw dbz and was like, "OH! I LIKE THIS KINDA STUFF ^_^ Reminds me of vultron" and shortly, after the discovery that it was all called anime (ok, ignored the dislike of sailormoon), i started a mad dash to try and find more.

you poor saps~ sounds like the majority of you got stuck watching it the first time on cartoon network~ twas so much better in japanese, subbed. They ruined gluttony's voice, and thus changed his character for many people >_< he used to have an innocent child's voice, which gave him a kind of naive, innocence about him~ dispite talking about eating people. It just sounded like he was hungry and didn't kno any better >_< i thot he was pretty funny~ then they changed his voice to some kind of psycho in america @_@ grrnezz

Fan service galore combined with lots of gunfights and hong kong action movie style fight scenes. Good stuff, and it makes me wanna go get Mezzo Forte (it's predecessor).

There was no real reason for Misato and Kaji to have sex but they did. They could have just alluded to it, but they showed legs flailing and moaning noises. Not as bad as it could have been but I think Anno was just being a hentai for a little while XD.

I watched DBZ as my first anime, though at the time I didn't know it was an anime. The second anime I watched FLCL (Furi-Kuri)... that scarred me for life. I had no clue what the hell was going on... still don't for that matter.

As far as FLCL is concerned, u are not alone. But i think that ever once in a while we need a completely almost senseless anime to stir things up.

I posted this because I'm cornered and cannot decide so I'm asking thee the great people at club b.

Well to put it simply, I have watched FMA and Tenjou Tenge recently (in 4 days)
and I'm wandering wheter should I read the manga or not because both of them finished at a very shitty place.
If possible can someone give me detailed info about the manga of these animes? I'm going to enter university exams so I have to study very hard (at least 1-2 hours a day) so I do not want to waste it with reading crap. So In short if you suggest the manga of these anime, why? and is it worth the time?
I'd app. it a lot if someone can help with this cuz I'm really puzzled.

Both are good mangas. Tenjou Tenge manga is uncensored and it's well past the point where the anime tried to end and is still ongoing. FMA manga is extremely different from the anime, although certain key points from the anime are derived from the manga. It's still ongoing as well. Most people including myself prefer the anime over the manga, but the manga does have some better explanations for some things. Also the world doesnt revolve around Ed as much as in the anime.

well there is supposed to be an fma movie comin out this summer--so it will wrap a helluva lot better than the anime...and who knows when the manga will finish...me too, i enjoy the anime better than the manga--the manga spreads itself out too much since it doesn't revolve around just ed...too much to keep your eyes on, at least for me...

as for tenjou tenge, not a big fan, so i don't know

I loved the ending. It was perfect, the symbolism and all. Absolutely amazing, better than some big bang BS. It was so final. Though I do admit, I'm upset that the movie won't continue where the anime left off, I wish it did... ;_;

awesome anime o_O; welp it was kinda slow on first ep, but as it progresses, it gets alot better. I like the music too, I also like its a stop from all the action animes I watch (bleach, naruto, champloo etc)

Oh and similiar to bleach and naruto it has a hint of romance too, tad bit more then naruto but not too much.

anyone ever heard of Lumen Lunae/Gekkakajin? It IS yaoi, I do warn, but if you like demons and not just crossing the line but destroying it, then this is a pretty cool manga to check out. Not many people know about it, but I was wondering if anyone here has heard of it?

Just like Raikaze. I saw DBZ first. Then I started saying "woah, anime is kinda cool" and got into Rurouni Kenshin (around the time the scanlations first came out) but the thing that hooked me on anime was Evangelion.

The first anime that I watched was Gundam Wing/DBZ.

well to tell you the truth, i like the FMA manga better, but maybe that's because i've tried it first..as far as i know..the anime and manga were pretty much parallel until mid-way through the anime..adn then they went off in two different paths.
the FMA manga doesn't seem to be slowing down, and i heard it's going to continue for about three more years. i think the ending's going to be way different too, and if you've been reading the recent chapters, then you will know why
so i like the manga better, but i don't really compare the two, since they are too different

I've always assumed that the movie takes place after the end of the series, but now I'm hearing that in the trailer(which unfortunately I don't have a link to) there is a clip of Al in his metal body, so it seems likely that it'll just be a filler, and take place during the time of the series. -_-Which would suck, I mean we already know what happens to them during the time span of the series, no need to tell us more, arrg.

By "Sketchy Manga" I mean manga that has a sketch-style about it's drawings. My friend Sarah says that she prefers manga styles like Yû Watase's- clean edged and very detailed. Personally, I enjoy the sketchy style like Hanazakari no Kimitachi he (casually known as Hana-Kimi) and CLAMP's art. Yah, I probably seem like I'm rambling, but I have a point, I promise! If anyone has any reccomendations, or wants to post what type of style they like better, feel free :winking56

Speaking of tenten, I myself never saw it but my friend showed me this sites with edits the english manga had done. Ok, removing sexual stuff I can understand, but they went as far as editing out the word "kill" to "bash"

Ok, there's about a hundred other manga out there that aren't as graphic and use the word kill. Oh noes! Someone threatened someone's life in a manga revolving around fights!

Well thinking all the way back it would probably be something like Thundercats or old gundams or anything else in the late 80's early 90's that came to the US. The first one that I actually watched that I knew was anime besides the anime movies on Sci-Fi channel a long time ago was Sailor Moon.

hey everyone...i'm been looking for some different anime shows to watch, but with so much out there, i just don't know where to start. i do know that i would like to watch gundam seed (if anyone knows where i can download this, i would really appreciate it). so this is why i would like to know what you guys recommend. what you love, what you hate, and whatever's left in-between. and to help you out a little, i'll list some of what i've seen that i have really liked.

here goes:

naruto, bleach, samurai champloo, fullmetal alchemist, cowboy bebop, trigun, berserk, witch hunter robin, inuyasha, x, rurouni kenshin, samurai x, fruits basket, prince of tennis, flcl, full metal panic, flame of recca, hellsing, escaflowne, and ummm...some others not worth mentioning.

but i have downloaded kyo kara maoh (on the advice of a shonen-ai fan friend of mine) and paranoia agent. any word on if these are good or not? i haven't had the chance to watch them yet.

You might want to try Evangelion too. People around Virginia seem to think that you have to watch it if you want to call yourself an anime fan. I personally haven't seen paranoia agent yet, but a good friend of mine said he was enjoying it.

Do you know where to find Saiyuki OSt cause It's been a life time I can't find them anywhere! I thought that maybe you know cause you requested for the anime Episodes. I never found his episodes on the net, but I saw most of the episodes on MtV (the Italian one). They are re-doing them I don't know actually the day but last time I saw an episode was 2.30pm

The first anime I've ever watched was Fist of the North Star. I believe I was only 4 or 5 at the time, and it gave me some pretty bad nightmares. 1. Too many to name. Current favorites are Full Metal Panic and Bleach, but there are a lot more

2. I first saw it when I was around 8 or 9, but I didn't start really getting into it until about a year ago when I was kind of reintroduced to the anime culture. (I am 18 now)

3. When I was 8 I watched Sailor Moon, the one that I started watching last year was Inu Yasha.

4. I was really obsessed with Sailor Moon at the time I watched it. Inu Yasha I liked a lot too, but I got bored of it.

question 2: It was a bit after InuYasha was first released in Japan. I started watching fansubs of it here, and I've been downloading and watching them like crazy ever since. (and I do buy the ones I like when they come out...so I'm not a total freeloader) (Note that the first would have actually been Sailor Moon, Transformers, Pokemon, or something like that. I just say InuYasha because that's when I started being 'obsessed' with anime.)

There's that one Anime called "Air"... about that guy chasing a thousand summers or something.. Brownie points for you if you can figure out what really happens at the end (it's kinda confusing), but I liked it though I didn't really understand the plot.

here's a good tip. when you're searching for a song, or for lyrics, try typing in this method:

Search: [lyrics beck moon on water ] [Go]

just do ya know, thas my ghetto text version of google, hehe. point is in the syntax. first important thing, you're looking for lyrics... narrow it by saying beck, so its lyrics from beck.. then add what you deem necessary... not i didnt type the... google cuts it out of the search so dont even waste the keystrokes.

Hey~ yeah, i've been watching the raws of PoT and it's over :-( the ending sucked, and since I don't own any of the manga I'm not sure but I heard that the manga is going on with the national tournaments? in any case PoT is still ongoing on Shonen Jump so i guess the anime just kinda concluded... (badly)

I get mine from Dattebayo and Live Evil. They were the first to have 'em, so I got 'em. =)

But the series? Off with an awful strange kick! I mean, come ON, the voice actors are a little off for me! I'm so used to a sweet little kawaii Sakura-chan and a dorky immature Syaroan!

The voices change the characters so much - it's a good thing, too. I mean, I THINK Syaroan's seriyuu is a GUY this time? Yay for puberty!! =P

But, I do think the manga is more indepth than the anime. The anime just kinda throws you off. Haha, this is me reviewing the first episode! =P

I'm just kidding, though. I love the series in general and CLAMP totally rocks.

Syaroan in goggles makes me salivate. :3

I'd have to say [in no real particular order due my lack of memory], my first anime was Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and DragonBall Z. Just because they all aired at about the same time. Well, sort of. Pokémon actually aired later, I think.

But my first manga was definately Sailor Moon. And I definately got hooked over one episode of the series. I'm a nerd like that.

And sadly, that it where the obsession began. Though Sailor Moon is a thing of the past, I still have a soft spot for it. <3 <3 <3

anybody have any idea which group wld be subbing this in english? managed to get the chinese subbed ones, and i must say that the anime rocks~ can't really read chinese subs as fast as english ones tho.....

anyways, MAR is based on a manga done by the same mangaka as Flame of Recca (Anzai Nobuyuki) It's abt this boy called ginta who gets transported to another world/dimension....

this is one of the best animes out htere in my opinion.
it has a very interesting mix of history and future[for lack of beter terms]
two young friend grow up in a war torn world and bring it peace.
this anime and a new graphics card hooked me on anime ,i'm seriously sick now.

find it and watch very cool
