*ahem* To watch on the 2nd disc the special feature "Distance: The Making of FF7 AC". It actually explains things too vague for American audiences and helped me understand it a little better.


As for my own opinion, the eye candy was great, acting (Japanese) great, and the dubbing came out for the most part well. No real complaints, but I was always a little dissappointed with the storyline.

This is an anime that I watch and I was wondering if any of you guys watch it or have even heard of it. Here's a plot summary for those that haven't seen it.

Plot Summary: It is the dark century and the people are suffering under the rule of the devil, Vandel, who is able to manipulate monsters. The Vandel Busters are a group of people who hunt these devils, and among them, the Zenon Squad is known to be the strongest busters on the continent. A young boy, Beet, dreams of joining the Zenon Squad. However, one day, as a result of Beet's fault, the Zenon squad was defeated by the devil, Beltose. The five dying busters sacrificed their life power into their five weapons, Saiga. After giving their weapons to Beet, they passed away. Years have passed since then and the young Vandel Buster, Beet, begins his adventure to carry out the Zenon Squad's will to put an end to the dark century.

This anime is currently being subbed by Anime Keep for those that would like to watch it. I will say that the first couple episodes aren't that great but it really picks up around the third or fourth episode.

I personally enjoy the first episode, the well done opening, although not too flashy, highlights moments of the show that seems worthy of attention, as well as the great song, which strums action and adrenaline which is to be expected in later parts.
The ending chills down with a touching little number and very chill out beats, and sweet relaxing vocals, while seemingly highlighting the mother and daughter's feelings of unable to be together.
The action showcases little, but fluid animation from Gonzo is highlighted as well as showcasing the importance of the attention to detail armor of the WitchBlade when awaken.

A lot of Japanese anime has cursing in it, that is eventually toned down when it is licensed and comes to american audiences. And yes, one piece is a pretty bad dub, a lot of the things in it are censored and a whole arc (or several episodes) was taken out when it came to the US.

You should check out Ouran High School Host Club. Its funny and has that nice touch of romance into the mix. I agree with Chobi. I think Ouran is the best new anime out this year thus far.

Characters:
Animation is done by Studio DEEN, and their high quality work shows in Higurashi. The character designs were very well done and their behaviors are original. The characters ooze personality when the voice actors show what kind of people they are, how they interact, and the way they speak. Most of the main character's friends show a slight, ominous feeling about them.

Story:
The story begins with Keiichi Maehara, an ordinary school student, who has just moved into the town of Hinamizawa a month ago. Life seems ordinary in Hinamizawa until he hears of murders in Hinamizawa which left Keiichi to explore more about Hinamizawa's history. The story progresses at a slow pace with a not-so-tension filled atmosphere for the genre of horror and mystery. In fact, it has much more comedy than I had expected. The first episode is light-hearted and is a nice introduction for the characters. Not much of a plot is revealed until later in the episode, which makes an extreme turn in the atmosphere around Keiichi.

Animation:
Studio DEEN has once again done a great job with this anime. The animation sets the mood and the colors are vibrant and lively when needed to be. It really is eye candy and is enjoying to watch.

Music:
The OP, "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (ひぐらしのなく頃に)" by Eiko Shimamiya, has a mysterious, dark feeling that sets the mood for the anime. This set me back a step because I didn't feel it started off correctly because the beginning of the anime had a light, comedic feeling to it. It certainly did not feel "mysterious" or "dark". But this opinion may change later as the plot progresses. The song itself is extremely well done and has a memorable tone with a great video to back it up. The video itself gave away how the characters truly are which made it spoiling for me. The ED, "why,or why not" by Hiroyuki Oshima feat. Rekka Katakiri, however has a nice slow beat to it and is sung completely in nearly fluent english. The song has a nice beat to it and is well done. The video is abstract and compliments the anime well. I'll be sure to add these two songs into my collection once they are released.

Verdict:
With what I know from this series and what others are telling me about this series, this was one of the few anime I have been looking forward to this spring. I'm expecting alot from this series and I'm sure I will recieve. I was wowed of what I have seen so far and I'm sure others will be too. The plot twists are interesting and intriguing to say the least. I'll be following this anime closely and I strongly recommend watching this series.

well i loved gundam seed in my opinion it had one of the best stories
gsd didn't really meet my expectations till the last moment where x20a strike freedom was unleased now that was cool when he took down all the zakus.

gundam wing hmmm that seris was okay i guess wouldn't say my favourite the unfair thing about it is that the gundams that appear in it only appear in that anime i mean would it be cool to see strike freedom (kira yamato) vs wing zero custom ( heero yuey)

the G gundam seris is also callled the burning gundam seris it was dubbed
plus it got kind of boring after 20 epidodes i mean using the same move shining finger to defeat enemies it slighty better after damon gets burning gundam or god gundam he learns burning erupting fingers or in japanese godo finger no different to shining execpt it blows up after execution and the last episode was the greatest because of the special move he uses (spoiler)

gundam x is one of the best mainly because the story line no flashy moves like the g gundam seris but battles like wing and seed plus its romanced based

Ouran huh? It seems highly recommended and it has its own thread so it must be good. Anyway, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (Kare Kano)is one of the best romance anime/manga ever. Unfortunately, the anime only has 26 episodes and you have to read the manga to continue the story. BUT you will not be dissapointed!
Its about a high school boy and girl who start out as class rivals but their feelings change eventually and sparks fly. The story follows other students in the class and their relationships as well. Laugh, cry and just enjoy!

Its like... I watch it late at night and turn the sound really loud and when Rena just happens to burst out yelling from no where, it scares the hell outta me. I am expecting good from Higurashi. Very good plot/storyline. The characters are chibish but that is what makes the anime freakish. Cute but scary. The twists are very nice. I can't wait for more.

You can't; the latest scanlation available is 1-86. There are places, however, where you can download chapters 180+. As for the inbetween... you can:
1. Learn Japanese and get the RAWs
2. Learn French and buy the French scanlation
3. Buy the official English translation (worth every green I paid)
4. Wait for it.
I haven't yet found any place with chapters 86-180 for ddl.

Midori No Hibi (or Midori Days) is pretty lighthearted... though... weird. The Manga. The reason the anime story is currently different is because it was almost caught up with the Manga and it isn't allowed to overtake it so they went on a seperate storyline until the Manga gets far enough ahead for the anime to go back to that storyline. The current anime story is called a "filler" because that's all it's supposed to do - take up time for the Manga to get ahead.

That is because as of right now, there is only 5 eps... and I gotta say - it looks better than before.
1. The girl actually looks good (I dig girls who look like that... :biggrinlo)
2. There aren't 463278654278956432096702678-3947630 digidestined people with random digimons (ending of season 2 - all those girls and boys who git Digimons... lame)
3. The dialuges are better than in the original (the main protagonis (whatshisname, the one with Agumon) has a better way of speaking (the original Tai sounded like... well, like an idiot)
4. The mat fella (although his name is Touma now, not Mat, his Digimon is different (thank God, I hate Garurumon to my bones, I like Metall-Garurumon though), and he is different from the "original" Mat - he's like 100% at everything, quite, kind hearted... just my view of a sideline character.

Anyway, I think this season is better than Digimon 1-2, and 4, but I don't know about 3... I liked Digimon Tamers best of all (especially that good/bad guy one... what was his name... the Impmon fella).

Ah, thanks for reminding me... Anyway, most people who are sure that Digimon is bad because of the earlier seasons.... this one's better. Like I said, it's hella better than seasons 1 and 2 (which had NO logic whatsoever, used the same plot, and copied the Digimons (sorta like the Gundam Series)), and is better than season 4 (which... is... well... you know, when you watch something REALLY bad?).

i don't know if i allready asked this question, but i remembered a very old anime, it was mecha and one of the main chars used something like a knife to summon a robot from somewhere and fuse with it...

if i recall good there were other robots in this anime, one was a lion robot, and when this robot fused with it it became something else...

Season 1 was cool, but it all stop with Season 2, i guess.

Season one was exactly like DBZ up untill after the Cell Saga. The story, although slightly cliche, was still well made, the whole plot, though quite predictable, was still well amde, and the ending was final, in the sense that there shouldn't have been anything afterwards (goodbye everyone, we've done our thing).

Digimon Season 2, although it started out good, quickly became the same as DBZ after the Cell Saga. The story was drawn out, the Digimons were simply copies of the older ones, and the whole "Egg Digivolution" failed to catch my attemtion. It truly became a horror when they reurned the old style Digivolution. After all, I'd say nothing againt a new form of evolution, but... to use the same old thing all over again? And the ending was the worst - they returned the archnemesis from before, with more power, and the same goals. Oh please, talk about recycling... I did find the "DNA Divovle" thingy quite cool though.

Now, Season 3, altough it began at a slow pace (and a repetitive one at that!) quickly grew to become better. What was most important to me, was the fact that they didn't return the old characters (which I hated to the depth of my bones). They actually used new Digimons, with (finally!) new abilities and new forms. I also liked the "fusion" evolition - they actually looked cool. And the one thing I truly admired there was Impmon. I dunno why, but this typial anti-hero villian/good guy truly appeals to me. And he looked really cool.

Season 4... after one episode, I decided that it was time to scrap Digimon. This was a complete repeating of Season 3's final forms, with a lame plot.

Season 5... it has began at a good pace, there is less "Digiworld" (which I enevr liked... a "new", "imaginary", "perfect", world... no. Just no.) stuff, and the characters actually appeal to me (especially the female one! :D).

I think I summerized everything I had to say...

since i read about the manga timeskip. i just couldent keep watching fillers anymore. watched untill the "Ghost Mission" dont remember name.

I think that was the episode with the ghost named Nobuseigi or something...

I'm watching them... the Kiba ep was OK.
I'll tell you one thing, I would rather watch Naruto fillers then Bleach fillers... I don't even know what's going on in the Naruto manga, but I do know what's going on in the Bleach manga, and watching fillers of that will make it so I don't want to watch Bleach anymore...

The best current speculation is 208 will be the last filler. which would be the end of season 8. But knowing the guys making it, they could end anywhere from next week to sometime in 2008.

i thought the cgi was good, although watching the dub a second time i realise now that cait sith has a scotish acent, which is fricken hilarious... i missed that the first time. although i do have to say that Aeriths voice was to "holier than thou" i thought i would of worked better had it been more playful and innocent.

Well as in fillers, if u stay updated to the episode releases in Japan, right it is at episode 184 I believe, all of them are fillers come from like way back in like episode 130-140 or so.....somewhere around there.
