I don't watch Naruto, and obviously I think the fillers have gone way to far. Either end it or stop viewing it if fans are disatisfied with the content. Might even ruin the whole show, which probably has already.

Just look around on some torrent sites to find the episodes. It may be hard to find it but just type in something like "dragonballz episodes bittorrent" on google and I'm sure you'll get some results.

And I'm currently smack dab in the middle of the Rurouni Kenshin saga, so this list may be subject to change.

a few on youtube. you can dl them by going to the comp section on this forum and look for the topic called dling off youtube. it should tell you how to do it. it comes out on .flv file, you must convert it, you won't wanna dl flv player.

And i looked, the expected number of attenedants for it's first year was originally 600-1000. then they riased that number from 1000-2000 right before the convention. Thye ended having over 4,100 people in attendance first year! the previous record was about 350 for a firt year con.
This year is goign to rock, i better see you guys there.

Lol, I'm not sure if I like to complain, but I got very turned off when Naruto's voice wasn't as angry and frustrated yet still fun easy going as his japaned counter-part. I think they totally ruined Kakshi's cool yet mysterious yet authoritarian voice. All they captured was the lazi-like part and even then it wasn't that great. I don't really have any big complains with any other characters. But those two are kind of important.

X-1999 the Movie makes GREAT conversation. I freaking love that movie, and I adored the series (in a serious way). Everything about the TV series was amazing: soundtrack, voice acting (Japanese version), animation, and plot. Ahhhh. <3
But yes, X-1999 is one of CLAMP's great works, and I believe there is a separate topic where all of their series are listed.

why: no anime has ever gone soooo deep into the issues of the human nature, mentality and sociology via a disguise of MECHA...or has ever really criticed itz own culture (anime freak culture) so effectively...i've yet to see an anime with that integrity...

Oh! I'm a bigger fan of Op than Bleach actually you can find me lurking around the Arlong Park forums. :D Yeah! One Piece was the best manga I could ever get into! I've got colorwalk 1 and the red and blue data files.
What's your favourite arc? For me I like the Enies Lobby arc at the moment but for my favourite it would have to be the alabasta arc!
Usagi-

Yes I know of the R and L in Japanese, but his official name is Zoro, also he was ZORO in Shonen Jump, but then when 4Kids decided to change his name to Zolo, so did SJ! That is why I'm so mad. Also, they nearly ruined the story by saying that Kuina, the girl who Zoro considered a rival when he was young, did not die like it said in both the anime and manga but she became like sick forever and could never fight again. So whats worse, living knowing you're dream will never come true or death. Swordsmen would probably say "death" That is PRETTY messed up.
But anyway, I have to say that Luffy is one of the funniest guys I have ever seen. Like when he tries to get Sanji to join and he declines, and Luffy yells "NO I DECLINE!" then he says later "I declined your DECLINATION!" XD.
They changed it because of copyright details. You know Zoro? The movie.
That's great!!! this is first time I find someone in a forum who liked One Piece. In fact I've started my forum's life in Club Bleach XD. Anyway, it's nice to find someone who likes One Piece as well.

You're tottally of topic...
btw i like bleach not because it has action, but rather the great story and plot twist...if you have read the manga you'll notice that even the dialog is thought up PERFECTLY...every small detail is in place from the start...
most animes have a place when i realize : wait one moment...now this happens, but it can't because this and that happened before...
Bleach doesn't have such moments...

Having seen X the series just a couple weeks ago, I'd have to say that it's not what I was looking for. It's supposed to be an action series, yet the action was poor. The main character never came out of the shell for the whole series, and it was basically carried by the side characters. Also, it dwelled too much on the whole "Destiny" theme which was too overdone and very boring.
I'm not saying that it was crap, just that it didn't meet my expectations, which is rather low.
Sarteck
05-24-2006, 08:33 AM
Never read X (never even heard of it until now, heh), but my [very limited] experience with CLAMP manga has been a bit unsatisfactory. It's not the content, but the artwork.
The only two CLAMP titles I've read are Chobits and FLCL. While I personally love the anime of both of these, the mange is VERY lackluster in terms of artwork, as if it were half-finished. VIZ, on the other hand, has very detailed and pretty awesome artwork [again, in my very limited experience of Bleach and FMA].
Then again, I prefer anime as a staple and manga as a supplement, so I'm probably biased. XD

He uses this 2 get rid of the Japanese criminals but, the japanese military inds this out and trys 2 capture him 2 use his Death God like abilities for military reasons.

Okay. So Dragon Ball Z was my first anime, and then it was pokemon. But to me, Ranma feels a lot more like my first anime than either of those. In fact, it was my third, but I never really enjoyed dbz or pokemon nearly as much as ranma, and I didn't even know they were anime at all until I had already gotten decently through ranma. I thought they were just another cartoon.
Of course, I'm speaking about ages ago. Thus, I decided that I would really like to watch through ranma again. I tell you, now that I'm older and I have a more refined sense of humor, Ranma 1/2 is even BETTER than it was the first time I got into it. Of course, back then we'd just read the libraries copies of the manga. Now I'm watching the series. Also, I never got passed like 20something. So now I'll finaly get to see what happened in the last 10 or so manga I never read.
Unfortunately, it's MOSTLY dubbed (cause I'm a pirate and only buy anime on the rare occasion that an anime like Spiral can't be found on the internet anymore; damn those torrent sites and bearshare), but I was surpised that the dubs weren't...... well, they weren't as bad as I expected. They could be better, but they are good enough, with few exceptions. However, from the episodes that were in Japanese, I can say that I do love the Japanese voice acting way better.
So, anyone else have anything to say about Ranma?
Is there even anyone here younger than 23 who knows about Ranma? hahahahah... lol.
Anyone currently watching .hack//roots? I think its far better than Signs, since in the beginning, it actually talked about the gaming aspect of The World for a bit. Also, there are great fansubber encoding the episodes at great resolution :D. Beware though, it eats alot of power

hmm...the first time i watched ranma, i was like 14 or something. It was the same with me. Ranma is probably my first real anime. I mean I watched dbz, pokemon, samurai pizza cats etc. before ranma, but they were way too Americanized by tv producers.
i noticed that one of the english voice actors for ranma is currently the same guy for inuyasha. which is kinda amusing since ranma and inuyasha are both created by the same person and the characters look kinda similiar.

I know of 2 other .HACK series: Sign and Legend of the Twilight Bracelet (or something). But roots? How old is it? What is it about?
A link to the subber would be cool, I liked Sign a lot.

lol. Why wouldnt there be people under the age of 23 who don't know about Ranma? When I was in middle school and didn't really know anything about the anime world. I'd say the first anime I ever watched was Cardcaptors that was dubbed. I really loved the art style and I wanted to find out more about this art. While searching the net I came arcoss Ranma. So thats how I found out about it. But just last year I started watching Ranma due to the fact I could actually download anime at pretty decent speeds. w00t NO MORE DIAL-UP!!! I justed finshed season 3 and I really love this anime.

Haha, I know about Ranma, mostly because I'm obsessed with Urusei Yatsura (another one of Rumiko Takahashi's mangas), and I stumbled across a few Ranma episodes while looking for UY. :doindadom
And Ranma pwns. <3
You can start roots now, watching SIGN somewhat helps with the unanswered questions in Roots.
Roots was released recently and is a prequel to .hack//gu, a game for the PS2.

lmao. Well, the reason why I said people under 23 is because it seems like only older people seem to know about it here where I live. Anyone I talk to about it who wasn't in my little circle of friends didn't seem to know what I was talking about, even if they were an anime fan. Even most of the people I talked to at an anime convention didn't know it or know much about it. >.> lol.
Also, le gasp! Samurai Pizza Cats was an ANIME!? WOW I thought that one for sure was just a cartoon. Sonic was also a big shocker for me. lol. I thought that was also NA (North American).
@Pipp-ork
Lol. That's how I found out about Inuyasha. XD If it wasn't for Ranma it could have been a couple months before I got into it. Thankfuly, I got into it before the mainstreamers did. lol. There's always a certain level of pride in that.
Hey! I'm trying to find a website with torrents or e-links of Cyber Team in Akihabara. I would like to get this anime but there's no way to me to find it.
Do anyone have any ideas about where I can get this anime?

The graphics are amazing O.O however... I liked it... but It wasn't the best. If u have pretty graphics for a game or movie yet it doesn't make sense it still sucks. I even played FF7 and I still didn't get wat was going on! And I watch things that have a STORY thats confusing but AC was just confusing. And I wasn't really fond of the slow-mo type action, I thought those action scenes would have been better at a faster pace. Only watched the Japanese Version though. Haven't seen the english version yet
Advent Children? I think it's available since October 2005... Or is it a new version? I've already watched it... Really, it's very good...

IMO, far better than SIGN on how it started. In the beginning, it was delving into the game mechanics (PKers & Guild). Now, the main character is in a guild, and the guild's purpose is to search for a legendary item, Key of the Twilight. As for the manga, lazy to look :D. I'm already addicted to the HD 720p quality.

currently FMA comes out in one of those manga magazines in Japan (i can't remember the name of it right now), but a new chapter comes out once a month...there's a group called "ZOMG Fruit Tree Alchemists" that scan and translate each chapter, i highly suggest any FMA fans read it! the website is http://zomgfta.com/, go to the projects page. currently there's 59 chaps, number 60 should be out in like 2 weeks.
at first the plotline is similar to the anime, but with a lot of extra stuff, and then after about halfway through the anime they completely branched off the plot of the manga and made a totally different ending (and the movie) and all that...they completely omitted a bunch of stuff, while adding in some others...and the current manga plot is REALLY crazy at the moment. i love it though! apparently arakawa actually told the anime producers to change the anime and make their own ending, so...that's why its different.
i absolutely adore both the anime and the manga, but...i wanna say i actually like the plot of the manga more. it gets slightly complicated, but it's really interesting! and the drawings are so much detailed (especially ed's famous angst...which occurs even more than in the anime.) i don't think the manga's boring at all, so everyone who likes FMA and hasn't read it, should do so! (sorry, done rambling! i'm a big fullmetal fan, i get carried away :biggrinlo )

Is the whole song or just the intro to the anime...?
Asking the wrong person. If you got the OP episode, at least look at the translation and compare the length to see if its only the OP or the whole song.
How does it look? Is it a part of a hakama or is it a separate obi?
Also, which character is it you're aiming for? (Some of them tie their obi different than the others...)

In the 17th century Deshwitat, the main character and vampire, is betrayed by his friend Kalutika and inprisoned in "null" space for the rest of Eternity. Three-hundred years later he is released from his eternal prison by accident and has a thirst for "Kal's" blood. Accompanied by Millenear Sheffield, an excommunicated excorsist, Remi Do, the daughter of a paranormal investigator, and a long time friend, he starts on his long quest for revenge (and possibly some world saving in the process).

I have noticed that other than a few exceptions [Bleach, Naruto, and a few others] Animes have been getting worse over the years. I realize that this is probably because the manga-ka are running out of ideas, but I mean come on man, some of these are just plain rediculous [examples: pretty much anything on 4kids TV]. So I want to have a spot where we can remember the good old days with the classics [examples: Tenchi Muyo, Dragonball, the first season of Digimon, Gundam Wing, and many others] does anyone remember any of these old classics or have anything to say on this alarming issue? if so post your opinions here.
Does Robotech count? For me it was the show that got me into anime in the first place. While it took me awhile to really get into anime if it had not been for getting up at 5am to watch Robotech on TV I would never have gotten to where I am now.

There are a few goods one recently. The old days also have this problem IMO. 13 Kingdoms (Juuni Kokuki) is one of my favorites if not the best adventure type anime ever.

12 Kingdoms, not 13 :P, your on a roll with the typos.
I've always loved Dragonball, and the first season of Digimon was indeed awesome. The situation however, is not as simple as you've explained. It would seem like your source of anime only shows Naruto and Bleach, and maybe a couple of others. I believe Adult Swim constantly shows reruns of the established big names, like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist, and a few others. If you're talking about new anime from Japan, there are constantly new awesome ones coming out, just look around.
For those of you who's watched Fox kids back in the days, remember Monster Rancher? I dont think they actually finished showing it, the show just seemed to stop randomly, but I loved it.
^ man Monster Ranchers, that is very old school :). Oops for the typo :p. Not all anime are targetting the main audience which I assume is the teenagers (13-18). There are some mind bending ones like GITS and Ergo Proxy that just requires the love for thinking, suspense, sci fi, etc. I guess your genre isnt that "wide." The only anime I dislike would be romance & drama.

XD
MONSTERS RULE!
Eh, but if you're wanting to talk about the classics, we should get more centered on time, because the ones mentioned [examples: Tenchi Muyo, Dragonball, the first season of Digimon, Gundam Wing, and many others]are fairly contemporary--not that any of those series aren't worthy enough.
You want classic, you should be talking Kimba the White Lion, Astroboy, or the very awesome Rose of Versailles (released in '79).
The only anime I dislike would be romance & drama.Aw, why? For me, I can't dish out any of my favorite older series without going into romance and drama. I've always been a fan of those genres (just as much as action and sci-fi) and actually seeing the grassroots of Shoujo in Rose of Versailles, I've appreciated it more.
You know it's a classic when it moves you regardless of age and time and well, when it's just damn awesome.

You can either sew it on or use a glugun and glue it on but if you want to paint it on I would try useing fabric paints cause other types of paint will wash off or peel off or run cause they arent ment for fabric.

I wanna make a costume of Creepy Science Guy [Kurostuchi Mayuri, I just like calling him that], but I've never done this before and have no clue how. Like what materials should I use? Should I have make-up or a mask? Is there stuff that can make me look taller and more in shape?

Dragonball and the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Those are my absolute fave oldschool. Once I get some eps of Ideon from my friend, that might be among them as well.

old school anime.....the oldest i know are things like the guyver(not the recently remade series, the original from the early ninetys) or tenchi(muyo eing the oldest, tokyo and the recent add on to muyo were recently made)
we cant compare stuff we see on cartoon network, since its always inevitable that the original content will be edited/changed to fit the age group.
the original tenchi is way funnier then the cut version.most recent anime are great, like keroro gunsou, yakitate japan and even things like disgea and magikano.its all a manner of your own personal tastes and preferences(like im a comedy/romance nut,but not one for dramas and such)
lets not forget one piece and detective conan have been going on for 264 and 400+ episodes, starting in the ninetys, and are still going strong today.

Well,Mayuri isn't in that good a shape so that doesn't matter. And the costume itself is very big so even if you're not in good shape, most people won't notice. Now if you REALLY want to make yourself taller than you'll have to change the costume. You'll have to use plateau-heel boots instead of using Waraji.
Next, you'll need a shinigami outfit. Now you can either make it yourself or buy it.
If you want to make it. You'll need to to make a white kimono,a black kimono and a black hakama. You will also need a white obi but that's easy to find. There are numerous sites that have patterns and instructions on how to make them. You'll also need some Tabi (white socks in 2 sections) and Waraji (straw sandals). Your local Chinese market should have some. For costume materials, you'll need something thick, light and comfortable. I'm a fan of polyester myself for Shinigami cosplay because it's quite easy to work with,is just as comfortable as satin and lacks the bad shiny-glowy effect of some other materials.
So now you have a basic shinigami outfit. Now,make a captain's haori. Check the internet for instructions on that. Find a katana and attach it to your obi infront of your crotch.
If you have cash to spare or can't make it yourself, might I recommend
http://www.qqcosplay.com/BLH/blhtwewhw.htm This will get you the basic costume and the haori for $162,a modest sum.
Now for the hardest part, the face... Now normally I would suggest make-up for the added touch of realism however in Mayuri's case... make a mask.
Now the for the mask itself,I would suggest getting an unpainted ceramic masks that looks him and paint it yourself it your liking. You'll also have to add the gold goatee thingy yourself. For the hat, just find a nice white hat that fits the model and cut a part of it off.
That should make you a good Mayuri.

thank you. I hope this works. If it does I'll post a picture of myself in the costume. There is something else I wanna ask. Do you guys know any good places for a Bleach Convention in my area? I live in Minneapolis. They might have one at the Mall of America, but I'm guessing that the more likely location would be the Minneapolis Convention Center.

So is anyone here watching this anime? I read about it in an anime magazine and it sounded pretty interesting, so I peeked into a few episodes. I was instantly hooked.
Noein is a piece of art.
Story: The teenager Yuu is a typical emo kid who lost the joy of living. He has a good friend named Haruka, but his mother is pushing him so hard to getting to a good middle-school that he doesn't know if he can stand the pressure any longer.
One day, Yuu and Haruka are invited to a nightly trip to the cemetery by their classmates. Everything goes normally, until a couple of strange men in grey robes appear. They claim to be searching for the "Dragon Torque", to "save the timespace they're from". The men are in fact travelers from the future, where the world has turned into a wasteland which is constantly attacked by the evil force Shangri-La. The dragon torque, which was located in Yuu's and Haruka's dimension, might be the solution to defeat Shangri-La.
One of the time travelers, the silent Karasu, however, notices that the dragon torque's energy is coming from inside Haruka. He seems to have an attachment to the girl and refuses taking her to the future. That moment, Karasu's collegue Atori (who is fanatic and completely lost it) appears and wants to kill Haruka to get the dragon torque.
Karasu manages to fight Atori off, but before Yuu, who was watching the fight, can ask him a few questions, Karasu just says "You cannot save that girl. I know that because I am you" and vanishes.
After that day, Yuu and Haruka are pursuaded by the time travelers from the dimension called La'Cryma and only Karasu is willing to protect them at the cost of his own dignity and safety.
So much for the story. Worth mentioning is also the art style of Noein. It's not just your generic big-eyed chara design, but something very different. Simple drawings and gorgeous CG effects are adding to another, the combat scenes, which are fought with special powers abusing the very laws of time and space, are sometimes only frame-per-frame animations of simplistic sketches and crude lines. That may sound bad, but it just adds an incredible ammount of style into the anime. You'll see insane camera movements, which let you feel you're inside the battle and exspecially the animation of characters like the demented Atori are terrific.
In my opinion, Noein is a series every self-proclaimed anime fan has to watch.
So start discussing it already.

A lot of animations in the past such as Batman and Xmen are technically American anime but why can't American studios come up with real series today?
There used to be He-Man, Thundercats, GJ Joe, and etc..
Today all we get is the corny made for kids CG based animation that I can't stand..
It would've been nice if a studio takes anime serious, instead of dubbing all this Japanese anime.
