Note the lack of Naruto on the list; personally, I don't understand how sooo many people actually like that show. I started watching One Piece (sub ONLY!) instead and that was better at first, but now it's getting into that same fighting-in-molasses problem. Meh. I still think it's better than Naruto, though...

Japanese people know that the emphasis of the name is on Evangelion, so they say Evangelion series in jap.

BUT Americans and other foreigners dont seem to grasp the name. They are simply too lazy to say the whole thing....and cuts out "Evangelion".

So yeh they are the same.

GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka - A funny, touching and insanely crazy story about a former biker-gang punk who grows up to become a teacher who wants to help the youth of Japan become better people. I love this series because it is one of the few series that can have you rofwl one episode then make you cry your eyes out the next.

As much as I love Sorimachi Takahashi as GTO in the drama I still think the anime is a must see because there are alot of characters that the drama doesn't include.

Highly recommended.

I suggest anyone whos a fan of the manga and started with it like me not watch the Gantz anime past the end of the third mission. Cause after that it becomes filler and ends with a filler ending at episode 26.

But what do you expect from Gonzo. They are never faithful to anime 100%.

GTO is a good anime the live action is spread over more episodes only 44 for anime the live action delves deeper into his relationship with the cute teacher he has the crush on while the anime uses more of his biker background the students warm to him faster in the anime than the live action and he's far more psychotic in live action than the anime.

both live and anime are good they both deserve being watched each for their own reasons as well as the comon story in both.

No one has mentioned the "Bad Company" mini manga series. It's set before Shounan Gumi, when Onizuka was only 14. It only covers one story, I didn't like it much because Onizuka is portrayed as a bit of a jerk.

Not sure if this is still true, but the live action GTO finale holds the record for the most viewers (in Japan) of all time when it was first aired.

I was wondering if anyone happens to know where I might be able to get this anime from, and if it's possible for me to get an NTSC format DVD of it (Club to Death Angel Dokuro-chan is the full name to my knowledge). I've been looking all for it on the net and I've come up with basically nothing so far, except for the official website (http://www.bin-kan.com/main.php) and that's all in Japanese, which I can't take classes in until college. So, if anyone can provide any help as to how I might be able to get my hands on the DVDs of it assuming they have english subs, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

*I was able to talk to someone I know and they said that it's still currently airing in Japan, and that the series itself has only been out for about a year, thus why I can't find anything on it. He also did a search across 200 anime sites with keywords and didn't come up with anything either, so I apologize for the thread unless any information comes up about the show in the very near future.

**2nd Edit: Why I nor anyone I talked to earlier thought of this, I'm not sure, but I finally thought of Wikipedia, and it turns out you can watch Episode 1-2 of the series under the name "Bokusatsu Tenshi" with english subtitles. Past that doesn't exist with english subtitles to my knowledge on Youtube, but I would strongly suggest watching what's currently available.

the characters were fun the story line was OK but the amount of extra episodes they packed on by having them convert to super, super duper and downright super super duper sayans is laughable.
when an anime loses as much as seven eight minutes of a total 23 minutes just to power up scenes while taking five off the start to recap last weeks episode theres not much left for new material.

yeah Pokemon's still going strong in Japan. Also, it went on for so long that the original dub cast's contracts expired or something, so all the old characters are voiced by new people.

it was an observation about the series.

second "MY hime" is how the files are listed (I can play the episodes and the Name is MY not Mai was done by the suber so go berate them for the error) regardless of the actual title I could have posted it in the Japanese characters instead but just how many would you have been able to read?

besides I could have pointed out the reason most likely for its popularity is the fact it was on every day in ENGLISH on cartoon networks and probably one of the first anime a lot of these people have seen or grew up with might have been the catalists for their choice since pokemon is not considered grown up enough to actualy list as a choice of anime and was probably watched just as religiously as dragonballz was the difference between these two series is pokemon had a lot less filler in each episode compared to DBZ

and if you dought me about pokemon just what do you think 13-16 year olds were watching 4-8 years ago? it aired first in the US sept 1998 don't tell me many parents were allowing dragonballZ for their 5-8 year olds and the 17-18 year olds were probably also watching it since 9-10 year olds were probably just as into it.

any series that has 50% of an episode used up to recaps and stock footage falls short of the term "best of".

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien makes me mad and depress, (Stopped at #7) I picked one side of the point of view and the next episode I regret the choice and it goes on. Not saying its not a good anime. Its like the movie, "The Weather Man" just makes me wanna turn it off, but want to continue it.

Yea, Air is really awesome. Thou alot of people don't like it becuase it starts off slow, with pointless side plots (or so it seems to them) but everything contributes towards the end. - Potatoe is an outcast pokemon...

I tried so hard not to cry at episode #11 but I broke down when Misuzu yelled out the word. Then at the end at the Misuzu walking part, I broke again.

But I have to say Haruko and Misuzu's voice acting is simply incredible! The best I've heard yet.

I personally loved the first few episodes of AIR, so beautiful the sideplots were. Things started to get confusing starting with the second arc, and were kinda boring and cliched. The third arc didn't suit me very well, mainly because Yukito was outta the picture.

Well I watched the first half of episodes when the characters were still in feudal japan it was medicore the story wasn't too good the characters didn't come to my liking too especially Tsuna shouting that hes Minamoto no raiku attendant blahblabhblah Nevertheless I'm interested in feudal Japan so I wasted some time on it than came the Tokyo series I watched maybe 5 or 6 episodes and stopped damn it was horrible, boring and so wrong the whole idea of reincarnating the main characters in such a distant future to the first series was in my opinion simply bad.

Kenshin is far from reality. Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki is impossible to do in real life. Irregardless of what brain damaged people say. You can't hit 10 (or was it 8 or 12?) spots in a second or two. I'm a die hard kenshin fan and even I know that's not close to reality.

Now if you're referring to Meiji Revolution Kenshin, when he was Hitokiri Batousai, then yes, he's pretty lethal.

Best with swords? Why it's obviously Gilgamesh. He has proficiency in every weapon style (of course, he doesn't like melee combat.) PLUS, he can alunch about 9000 at you in a flurry. Sure, he's not wielding them per se, but he's using them. And damn well, might I add.

Btw, is this list based on (canon) strength or popularity? It's canon that Hiko is stronger than Kenshin, period. Also, the final multi-attack move is KuzuRyuSen, which hits nine vital spots. You can't really compare characters from different anime without some sort of agreed-upon standard, and realism is cast aside in almost any anime.

In terms of realism + lethality, Hiko still beats out Hitokiri Bakumatsu Battousai; he's stronger and faster.

I don't like the english version even though Im sure the voice is descent. But according to me, Kenshin's voice in anime is the BEST SOUNDING VOICE I HAVE HEARD.

It's just me though. I really like how the womanlyish voice suits him well in the comedic moments and I LOVE the transition in the subtlety in his voice goes to when he fights. Yuo can feel an intensity when he makes his speach or when he's battousai, you can feel his utterseriousness of "Come, this would be a pathetic end to our first duel in 10 years."

Personally, this is the one RuroKen is the one show where I actually like the dubbed version better than the subs. I feel that the dubs gave Yahiko, Sonosuke, and Saito much better distinction, making their characters more manly, and more fitting to what they were supposed to be.

I belive in FMA and the war in Iraq. George bush is Edward looking for weapons of mass destruction. While the Bush Sr is thier pulling strings. Colin Powell was Maes Hughes who left/got killed by the organization. New York is Ishbal Iraq is the other city. Dick Cheyene is Al. and Osama is Scar. Or he can be Sadam. which ever yah like.
