anime actualy has more inteligence in its surealism than 90% of live action.

it probably has a lot to do with how much time and effort are put into anime's compared to editing live action but it also has to do with anime writers are willing to allow their imaginations to work unlike so many live writers who over the years have followed or fallen into the same old same old rut.

what makes anime fun to watch is the comedy so prevalent even in the most serious series. the work thats put into producing the anime is also another reason I like them as well as the storylines of the animes i happen to follow.

Depends on the character, I'd say. Many characters are badass with guns (Rebbie from Black Lagoon, anyone?) and others with swords (GILGAMESH! ALL HAIL THE KING OF HEROES~!)

I think swords, because the speed of them depends on the skill of the user, I don't think a person can manually make a bullet any faster, if we are talking realistically, guns.
In anime terms, swords pwn guns.
There are exceptions though, I haven't seen many anime with guns, but for example: Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star.
He pwns with guns, but then in the same show Suzuka pwns with swords, it's a hard one, but swords gmv.

Anime terms I'd say both, swords because (depending on what kind) you'll have more strength and you'll be able to strike someone faster. Guns because there are a lot of skilled gunners in anime, where they dont have to take their time to aim and fire.

I don't know how yuo guys say DBZ had better fighting than DB. When yuo look at DB fights you see strategies and then here and there you see a complete blooper strategy that pays off that leaves you laughing. The only thing DBZ had to offer was quite litteraly big explosions, big fireballs and more powering up. Other than that, I disagree there was better fighting.

I have to agree with Byakuya with this one. Dragonball was special in a way, because it mixed fights and humor into a wonderful package. Wolfwood and Livio (Lazlo) are my favorite characters in the manga series and I dare not mention the anime too much. I don't like it like I love TM. Trigun Maximum is amazingly great. I've been collecting it for years and I cannot wait for volume 12 to be released.

I think volume 10 is my favorite. Wow! that was... sheesh, what a great volume. Total carnage.

If it's in the context of manga/anime.... Guns. I cannot draw them and I envy those who can and draw them WELL, like Yasuhiro Nightow, creator of Trigun.

The art in the second season is different from the first's: instead of soft pastels, the colors of the second season are bright and just short of shimmering. It's a significant change, but not unwelcome. The characters may be the same, but the art director did something new visually, something that would make the two seasons look different.

That said, the after seeing episode two - not to mention that little quadruple morita-flip in the beginning of episode one - I'm happy to say that the second season has all the madcap physical comedy and heart-wrenching loveliness of the first.

The second season won't have the same impact if you've never seen the first. There's an easy way to fix that, though: watch season one!

I notice a lot of people here also watch Fate/Stay Night, through observation of number of Fate signatures. I am wondering:

i) What is the name of the music right at the closing credit, and where I can download it? Also what is the music at the end of 14 and where can I download that and was it meant to explain something?

ii) Was Archer Robin Hood? If not who is he?

iii) What did everyone think of the ending for fate? I thought the ending was very well produced and touching, but a lot of people think it was too sad. I DID read "Anne Freaks" manga two months ago, though, and that may have completely desensitized me to any magnitude of bad ending (by bad I mean a well produced ending that is perhapse a little on the sad and / or nasty side, though that is a lie, the ending for Anne Freaks was downright vicious).

iv) As University does not start for another month, I have watched Bleach (Which I love), Kenshin (Which I like), Onegai Teacher (Which I hate and did not finish) and Fate Stay Night (Which I quite like), can anyone recommend me a good anime?

I forgot what the name of the last ending was. The ending in ep 14 (assuming that's Archer's "death") is called Hikari, I beleive. Archer is Shirou from the future and an alternative timeline, I liked FSN but the game is clearly superior to the anime.

I would reccomend 2x2=shinobuden for a good laugh. It's random, sparratic comedy with no point. Uh, not too sure on what exactly your tastes are so I can't quite reccomend stuff too well.

I agree that with anime, there is a lot of truth in it, and deals with real life issues, which I like. As well, I also enjoy the emotion that is protrayed in the anime (facial expressions with the huge eyes, interactive character design, etc.) On top of this, anime / japanese animation doesn't concern itself with what it cannot do. This with some expert 3-sword skills, well what more do I need to say?

Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing): Very skilled pilot of Gundam 02 Deathscyth Hell, so deadly he's earned the nickname "God of Death", and even so he's still a freindly and optamistic character.

I come from South Africa and haven't seen the anime but the manga is on sale here. It doesn't look that good, I wouldn't buy it...(But then people might say I'm wasting my money trying to finish my Dragonball manga collection.)

well, besides the fact that 4kids kinda messed around with OP, I think OP is generally less popular here compared to Bleach, because of its "less handsome" characters...a lot of anime fans come off as shallow..this is true, especially when characterization is overlooked.

Lex: Don't look at the art, style, or whatever (newbies tend to dislike it). The story is what matters. It's good. Read or watch it. And then you'll slowly start to appreciate Eiichiro Oda's unique artwork (he's a great illustrator). The beauty of it comes later.

Yes, many people dismiss One Piece cause of its unique artstyle but thats what so great about it. And Oda has explained why he made this artstlye, he said something semilar to this.

"I made the characters design goofy cause, even when the story gets really intense and very heated people can look at the artstyle and feel alittle of the seriousness go away and ease their hearts"

But even tho thats the case One Piece keeps as much of an emotional impact as any other anime/manga, and in my opinion. More.

One Piece is a great story, a great adventure, and people need to look at the artstyle as a breeze of fresh air. I promise you, by the time the Arlong Arc is over, or art most the Alabasta arc you'll love this.

But alas some people just wont listen to this. Here are that bad points that attack One Piece.

- Its long, this is no short story, 420 chapters and 272 episodes and no where near ending. Plenty of people like this cause they know they wont feel sad for it ending cause its gonna be going for awhile, some however don't have the paitents or don't think its worth it.

- Its about pirates, which has been overplayed alot in the west. However people don't realize One Piece is different, none of the characters or anything SEEM like pirates, not in personality, speech, or looks.

- The english dub, 4kids burchered One Piece by removing any tabacco or acholoic use. Elimiating blood and cussing. Cutting over 50 episodes of content including a arc very important to the story causing plot holes. Hidious voices, and overall downplaying its comedic, action, and emotional impact. (Spikes = Poision Suction cups; Whale = Iceburg; Cigarette = Lollypop)

So really One Piece was kinda screwed for good in the West. If a good dubbing company had gotten it and put it on adult swim or toonami with understandable edits then it would probably be popular.

to nikuwadoko: o...ok...maybe some of them look like shallows...while many of them r really handsome! well, don't tell me zoro is not ,nor is ruchi,sanji...a host of handsome men in the work--i think its style of illustrating is allright, which i did not accacpt as many other guys did ,and now i do not only accapt it but also ,even can feel a acut as well as atractive wildness in it!!

right,many factors exist,all of which buuhan has put on the table.
i started watching one piece when it was announced for british tv.
fte 5 eps,i thought"WF,how is this crap popular"
after that,i decided to get some of them onlin,t see if it was a difference...what a difference.i was blow aay by he sheer changes.everything made sene,characters were given more depth,i understood why nami was so to over ellemare,ad her pain,ompad tothe dub sayin"shes in a dungeon" crap.itslike am did not care.i had no ida of the pisode amountstill i looed i up,but i just took some paience,an watchd each episode on my days off.its a process,that pays off big time,although,if people complain about lenght,ask why they keep up woith naruto(in its 190's)and bleach(90's),although they are put off since they would rather watch these 2,whereas i take one piece as first priority,because of how much i prefer it.

You right, Sasuke didn't attack Sakura when she tried to stop him from goign to Orochimaru.

And it was Sasuke who saved Sakura from Gaara. And good thing Sasuke saved everyone from Haku back in the day.

Also, to bad Sakura didn't stick up for Sasuke when the 3 sound Genin attacked after he got his seal.

and Sasuke is always saving them like when he went to Chidori Naruto on the hospital roof.

Man, so many times Sasuke has selflessly fought for Sakura nad Naruto.... i dont think i can count that high...

only things Sasuke has done for the team was tell everyone to run from Orochimaru, and take out the two ninja's at the begining of the Zabuza arc.... But Kakashi could have done the later and just let Sasuke show off his stuff.

The One Piece manga releashed by Viz is kinda botched I hear, and then the anime got ****ed up. I think the only reason Bleach is popular here is cause a bunch of narutards got into it and spread the word.

I remember a time when people said "You like Bleach? Dude...that shit sucks! It's boring!" then soul society arc started, a narutard came along, read it, posted about it in her DA and loads of people were all "I'LL CHECK IT OUT!" At that moment, I knew elsewhere, the same thing was happening...and thus, Bleach became a TRENDY KOOL ANIMU! Anyways, back on topic.

A lot of people also can't get into one piece cause of the art. I for one wouldn't mind reading it, but I just can't stand Eiichirou Oda's art style. I don't hate it, it's just...an aquired taste that i just can't aquire.
There are a load of english speaking one piece fans, just not many make websites. I guess it's cause of arlongpark.com (or whatever the url is)

I also agree with the main view of Naruto X Hinata, simply because Sakura got her 'just desserts.' She blew off Naruto like nothing, and (ironically) was treated the exact same way by Sasuke. So, neither Naruto nor Sasuke, but maybe she'll begin to like Lee more... :3
