*sigh* this is getting tiresome. Im not a sasuke "hater", I just find girls obsessions with him ludicrous. This thread is about "Whats so great about sasuke?", not "Fanboy rant thread". The people who can't structure and argument come here, say "ololololo sasukes great" or "olololololo sasuke is gay". See, now heres the problem(s) with people on the forum these days.

1. They like to think that they're oh so shallow opinions matter. Ie: "Sasuke is teh greatest!1!!!1!!111one". Of course, they don't give reasons because they either have none, or a too stupid to realize they should probably have one.

2. They're total lack of a structured opinion drives them to take the ones of others, so that they seem to have a reason too. This leads to the obscene mob mentality that generaly degrades the conversations in this forum to "Pro scub vs. Anti scub" situations.

3. You (or others) might think you have a voice of reason, and that your possibly valid opinions just might make it through the soft gooey tissue that is the masses unshaped, fad following brains. But they wont. You, my friend(s) are just bugs on the pavement to these people. Your opinions dont matter, my opnions dont matter. These people shall talk on and on about the same thing without even hearing you.

So, in short, be quiet, cause no one is listening. Sure, they may sound like they *heard* you, but they didnt. They took parts of your post, made them theirs, and then pissed on them. THANK YOU. JESUS CHRIST. And in UC, the Gundam wasn't even some end all, be all mobile suit towards the end. It was AMURO who was dangerous, NOT the Gundam. And as you said, the Ground type Gundams weren't uber suits either. Shit, they were basically rejected mass produced versions that were replaced by the GM if I remember right...

In these new series, it's the Gundams that do the fighting. With all these laser canons and shit. Plus the suits are just assaninely designed and ugly.

If I had to choose between the ORIGINAL Gundam and whatever fuckass design (LOL STRIKE IGNITED FREEDOM JUSTICE HARBINGER GUNDAM!) I would choose the original. But then again I've never been big on the appearance of Gundams or Feddie suits (Jegans aside, those are pretty badass looking)

Hell, GELGOOGS were supposed to be as powerful as the Gundam, if not SLIGHTLY better. Why did Zeon lose? They ran out of good pilots by the time they were rolled out. They were literally sticking rookies into them because they had no other choice.

Also, 08th MS team wasn't the first Gundam show without a newype main character. You guys forgot Christina Mackenzie from 0080 and Kou Uraki from 0083. :(

Also, I kinda like Strike Freedom's design. Its wings are actually used for something unlike the original Freedom. I think. I forget. Either way, I still hated the way the show ended. Destiny had such a promising start. I actually LIKED the first ten or so episodes, before Kira reared his ugly head again.

Ah well, screw Destiny. I honestly think (The original) SEED is at least better than Wing, but then again, almost anything can be. If people want to see an alternate-universe Gundam show done RIGHT, they need to check out G and X. Turn A doesn't count since it was meant to unite all previous Gundam shows. (This means not SEED because it came out after.)

I'll give SEED at least a couple props. A few songs were really nice. A couple of the mecha designs were also pretty cool, namely the GiNN and the (Strike) Freedom Gundam. Impulse comes next (Though Strike started the idea, it's a little fugly) with its variable pack system and the return of the CORE FIGHTER SYSTEM. The Dom redesign was pretty bitchin', too.

Honestly, Strike Freedom isn't too different from the Hi-Nu Gundam. Just add a couple of hip railguns and a gut mega particle beam gun, and you're just about there. Difference is that Amuro isn't afraid to kill when necessary and doesn't go **** up things in a self-righteous bitchy fit.

...That's about it, really. I hated the idea that the plot changed according to popularity ratings, model sales, and the director's wife's bitching.

Maybe it would have been more popular in the US if more people read the manga and watch fansubbed versions of One Piece. One Piece(Japanese version) is my favorite anime.

There are 2 reasons that I would consider to be most important for this topic.

1. Characters ~ One Piece has characters that are more childish looking and strongly creates that effect to give many people turn-downs on the show. Bleach on the other hand, has very mature characters, and it's the shinigami captains' appeal that takes Bleach to the next level. If Bleach was a story based completely in Kurakara town, and had nothing to do with Soul Society, then it would be very average.

2. Time ~ One Piece is too old. It was released in 1999, contrary to Bleach being released in 2004. Now, 7 years after the release of One Piece, you really cant expect there to be many more forums about it. There just isn't any more new things or new fans for any major sites to be up. by 2011, I would expect Bleach to be in the same boat as One Piece is now, assuming that it doesn't all of a sudden become the biggest thing in America.

Yes, many people dismiss One Piece cause of its unique artstyle but thats what so great about it. And Oda has explained why he made this artstlye, he said something semilar to this.

"I made the characters design goofy cause, even when the story gets really intense and very heated people can look at the artstyle and feel alittle of the seriousness go away and ease their hearts"

But even tho thats the case One Piece keeps as much of an emotional impact as any other anime/manga, and in my opinion. More.

One Piece is a great story, a great adventure, and people need to look at the artstyle as a breeze of fresh air. I promise you, by the time the Arlong Arc is over, or art most the Alabasta arc you'll love this.

But alas some people just wont listen to this. Here are that bad points that attack One Piece.

- Its long, this is no short story, 420 chapters and 272 episodes and no where near ending. Plenty of people like this cause they know they wont feel sad for it ending cause its gonna be going for awhile, some however don't have the paitents or don't think its worth it.

- Its about pirates, which has been overplayed alot in the west. However people don't realize One Piece is different, none of the characters or anything SEEM like pirates, not in personality, speech, or looks.

- The english dub, 4kids burchered One Piece by removing any tabacco or acholoic use. Elimiating blood and cussing. Cutting over 50 episodes of content including a arc very important to the story causing plot holes. Hidious voices, and overall downplaying its comedic, action, and emotional impact. (Spikes = Poision Suction cups; Whale = Iceburg; Cigarette = Lollypop)

So really One Piece was kinda screwed for good in the West. If a good dubbing company had gotten it and put it on adult swim or toonami with understandable edits then it would probably be popular.

For everyone els, he's right about the Arabasta arc. That is heavy with emotian and is a realy gripping edge-of-your-seat arc. Plus the ending is quite emotional aswell. As Luffy and his Nakama sail away from vivi, with the first opening theam "We Are", when Vive shouts "If you return, can I still be your Nakama?" was so emotionaly beutifull I realy shed a tear at that moment.

My friend once watched an apparantly very good anime, but cannot remember it's name, wondering if anyone can identify it. This is the plot:

A group of girls (a fighter, a mage, one of them looks like a monkey cosplay crossover) finds a prince looking for help getting rid of an insanely powerful (can deflect the protagonist mage's spell and cast spells with no incantation) evil mage who took over his kingdom. They travel/adventure etc. Turns out the mage was once an archbishop who felt sorry for the poor of the kingdom and thought he could help by taking over the country, already a powerful mage he uses forbidden powers to upgrade himself, but it took over and instead he devistated the entire continent.

Ergo Proxy falls into the philosophical category. While guns are a part of the series, it by no means holds importance. What it reminded me of was a blend between "Minority Report" and "I Robot". There weren't any series gun involved action and weren't many great scenes either. Don't watch it if you just wanna see guns, watch it for its philosophical point of view.

I read a Chapter of Eyeshield 21. The one chapter where Eyeshield breaks through the barrier and grapples onto the Shuttle Pass guy's arm and makes him fumble.

That was an awesome Chapter. In like one split second, BAM Eyeshield is right in his face.

I think if I had the time and resources and bandwidth, I'd watch and read Eyeshield 21. It's totally worth it.

I have most of the Eyeshield manga downloaded, at least until www.deimonhigh.com went down a few months back. I also watched most of the episodes on youtube. It's a good manga the anime is pretty decent as well, but it's really toned down.

It is pretty unrealistic, but it's all about the entertainment value. So far I'm at the Seiyu Wild Gunman vs Deimon, I'll have to get back to the manga sooner or later.

Everone likes Haruhi. I can't fuckin stand it. Every character grates my nervs in ways you can't imagine.

Everyone just LOVES Gundam SEED and Destiny. I can't stand either. The art is terrible, the characters are shitty, and the mechs are assanine. Which brings up another point.

So many people seem to hate the original Gundam because it's "ugly art" and "it's old" and "It doesn't have bishies/lasers" I think they're missing out. And besides, if it wasn't for the original, you wouldn't have your Wing and SEED fagfests.

I used to love Bleach, now I can do without it. It's gone from a rather stylish, interesting series to cookie cutter shounen.

Heh I didn't know there were people that hated Naruto. I don't care much for it, and hate it being refered to as the brother of Bleach. I guess thats either due to being Shounen Jump or just because of the "zomg martial arts" side of both. Gintama > Naruto, yet no one watches/reads it :sad: I also don't see the obsession with One Piece, the comedy parts aren't really funny to me.

I remember watching some old anime when I was little but Speed Racer was teh first real anime I ever watched.

Maybe back when I was 5 or 6, then Transformers, Thunder Cats (american but Japanese Drawn) I even caught a glimpse at Dragon Ball Z when it was on it's first American run, when it was on FOX at 5AM.

The first manga I ever got to read was of Dragon Ball Z, it was actually a Shonen Jump that my sister got from her Japanese teacher. But just recently I started getting into manga. I picked up a lot of Trigun Maximum and Saiyuki.
