It really can get tense... but that's some of the fun of it... hence why this show and manga series grabbed my interest... that and wonderful amounts of action... I've discovered that is probably the only reason I don't watch soaps... no action...

you should start reading the manga - there's so much more to it.

as for why Alucard is working for the Hellsing family - i think he does it for kicks. after being around for so long he's probably bored and does it just for the hell of it. i know he has binding spells on him but i think he's powerful enough to break them.

and i think he's as powerful as he is because the Hellsing family did experiments on him to make him that way. Alucard is Dracula (obviously) and dracula was never that ass kicking....so i think he's been modified.

Surprisingly a lot of people interested in Suzuka... Personally... I think Asahina looks better in anime than in the manga... its manga has more side stories than in the anime which is more straight forward... (most of the animes have more side stories than manga)... It's a damn good anime + good quality... though I don't really like the opening song of it... sound kinda like some old style anime... ^^

I still watch Naruto. I've collected over 150 episodes, I don't see any need to stop now.

I don't like the filler series, and the idea of a whole new season completely filled with fillers is horrible. I have lost a lot of respect for the series due to these fillers. It went from my #1 anime (before I discovered the wonderful world of Bleach) down below in the trenches of my "O.K." anime series. It is a shame the fillers are going to last so long. They are ruining my interest in the series.

Well 2 seasons, each consisted of 24-26 episodes is the same thing basicly. Having 20-24 episodes might be better sometimes.
30+ means filler paradise, few examples, Saiyuki, Rurouni Kenshin, GetBackers, Naruto.
Fullmetal Alchemist almost had no fillers eventough it was 51 episodes. (If you don't compare it with the manga ofcourse)

Hmm, seems that people like to bash things when they're really popular. I started off liking Inuyasha from Adult Swim, then all this hype happened and I was like "hmmm maybe it's a tad overrated?" Then I borrowed the subs from my friend, watched 72 epsiodes in like three days and now I'm hooked on it again. I've continued watching it for these reasons in no order:

Inuyasha: I love him. His ears, his voice, and his bad-boy attitude. I like everything about his character.

Bankotsu: This guy is the SMEX. He's totally awesome. <3

Miroku: He cracks me up. Ecchi! XD

Sango: She is cool. Sango+Miroku=even better

Kirara: Mascots don't come much cuter than this. She can't talk and she's USEFUL. Take some advice, Shippo!

The relationships: You're talking to a shoujo FREAK here. I love mush. *points to signature* Give me cavity-inducing sugar sweetness any day. Just don't have 4+ characters falling for the girl and 4+ falling for the boy. Big mistake, it just gets annoying *cough marmalade boy anime*cough ranma 1/2 (WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT UGLY, STUPID, VIOLENT AKANE!?) . Glad Inu doesn't do this.

The comedy: OH THE COMEDY! How can you not laugh at the comedy!? You don't find funny when Miroku grabs an ass or when Kagome smacks Inuyasha with a trashcan when he runs NAKED into her room!? I do. :redbiggri

Sesshomaru and Rin's little...thing: Rin is cute. The fact that he actually cares is cute. This is just cute. I enjoy seeing Fluffy lose his cool when she's in danger. HAHA Pedophile! (joke)

The music: Okay, want it straight? THE MUSIC ROCKS. I mean, come on.

The animation: You can't say it's bad, can you? It's good! I love when they do the pulsing thing-so cool and never been used before. <3

The seiyuu: Yamaguchi Kappei-sama! Kuwashima Houko-sama! <3 No one, I mean NO ONE can say "ba~ka~!" better than Kappei-sama :biggrinlo

The swords: Swords are cool. =D

The extreme Japanese-ness: I love Japan and anything that reminds me of it. (yes I was there and watched Inuyasha 106 on TV in Hakone about three years before it came out on DVD here. Oh the sweetness.)

All right the plot.....yeah the plot could use some wrapping up. Naraku needs to die and so does Kikyou. (again) BUT MY GAWD WTF ARE YOU PEOPLE WHINING ABOUT!? Couldn't it be MUCH worse!? This series is a hell of a lot shorter (with a GOOD plot) than others that should've ended WAY earlier (DBZ and Pokemon come to mind! What are they, like 500 episodes of "wagh you beat me, me pwn you over and over again" CRAP!? I mean give Inuyasha a break already, geeze! :sad:

Stuff I definitely don't appreciate Inuyasha for:

Kouga: You're annoying. Kagome doesn't love you. Stop pissing everyone off and go with the cute lil wolfgirl who's ten times prettier than Kagome. Baka.

Jakken: Sessh should've left you dead. And no, he doesn't want to be gay with you.

Shippo: He was okay at first, but the more I watch of him, the more I think that he's becoming an extremely useless little brat who can't do a damn thing except call smarter and stronger people "idiots". How ironic.

Demons and Flashbacks: There are indeed too many of both. But try to remember: this show originally aired once a week. It probably wasn't so bad that way. A lot happened and some flashbacks are useful.

Okaay, 13 and a half good reasons to watch this verses 4 bad ones.
Yeah Inuyasha does NOT suck, imho. =P

I finished watching the series today... Very short in terms of episodes, 8 in total.

So it features spikey clubs slicing people's heads off, 9-year old sisters with a pretty dangerous whip, and angels from the future trying to dismantle an 8th grade adolescent. It's all pure comedy, and sorta resembles FLCL in terms of randomness.

Anyone watch the series?

Hai? x.x You guys haven't heard of Yami No Matsuei!? It's been around for a while. Yeah, it's licensed, both anime and manga. It is NOTHING like Bleach-for one thing it's shoujo, for another it's YAOI genre (guy+guy relationships)
However, it's not hardcore, in fact there's not even a tame little kiss is shown.
The style itself is very beautiful and dark, although the anime cannot compare to the manga, it's still fun to see everyone animated and hear their seiyuu.

So fangirls of hot bishounen, knock yourselves out, but anyone who cannot stand yaoi-ish stuff, you might want to stay FAR away from this one. It is not impossible for guys to enjoy it though (there is fighting and blood and murder and good stuff like that :redbiggri ). My fellow fangirls and I showed one of our friends in our anime "clique" and even though he hates yaoi, he said Yami was good.

The Naruto manga is still kicking so much ass though, I just read 277-281, awesome shit. I'm glad Gaara is still alive. This whole Akatsuki saga has been incredible, awesome fights, so many questions to be answered still(how did Kakashi get the Mangekyou Sharingan? What will the Akatsuki team do next? Who is the spy who will be placed in Naruto's squad?) I think the manga is at its best right now and when the anime picks up on the story it will be some of the greatest shit Ive ever witnessed.

Yes, the name IS the same (Kurosaki Hisoka/Kurosaki Ichigo) even right down to the kanji BUT the fact remains that this series is about six years OLDER than Bleach and a COMPLETELY different genre.

Therefore, Yami No Matsuei came BEFORE Bleach, people. Get it?

Inuyasha was kinda like my gateway drug to anime so it is one of my favorites but I did catch my self getting bored around the end of the series. It is still one of my top 15 animes. to think about it I probably wouldn't have know about bleach or any of the good anime out there if it wasn't for Inuyasha

There is a video game called Battle Arena Toshinden. Quite anime-atic it is, fitting to have an Anime based on it. In the video game however, the plot is shallow and useless, but the fighting was fun. If the Anime will be anything like the video game, you can expect awesome swordfights (swords of all styles) and also some pretty crazy weapons and moves.

The slow tempo makes the mood n atmosphere. I think ep17 was a little to hasty. To many things happend, I think it lost a little character. But maybe it was because it was a little too japanese, with all the karaoke and songs and baseball n idol stuff. I didn't realy get it. Believe it or not, but there are TONS of shinigam-related series out there. Well, the first one that comes to mind for me is Full Moon wo Sagashite.

Of course, it's completely different from Bleach--it's a shoujo, comedic, dramatic, romantic, light-hearted, and fantastic. There isn't any violence.

Battle Arena Toshinden is a pair of OAVs sold together as one "movie." Yet another scrappy group of video game characters saves the world from a street fightin' bad guy. In this particular adventure, it just so happens that the bad guy (Gaia) has teamed up with another villain to put together the know how to rebuild people into super-powerful cyborgs. But, these cyborgs have an advantage over just strength--they can copy all those cool special moves you have to push a bunch of buttons to do in video games, and all they have to do is watch the original in action. One of these cyborgs (who looks too much like Sho, Eiji's borther, for comfort) starts attacking good guys and using their own moves against them (starting, of course, with the less popular characters). It isn't too long before our hero and his amnesiac friend, Sofia, find out that this isn't the original, and deal with him. This wouldn't be so bad, except he was just the prototype, and there are more like him on the way. Behind everyone is this mysterious villain and the vengeful (and now cybernetic) Chaos. It's going to take a lot of fighters and a lot of fighting to save the world.

I'm not sure if it's old or new because I just heard of it and it's really good and it doesn't generalize the whole "I'm a vampire I suck blood and you can kill me with garlic" no it's way better then that.

I know he's been incarnated about a million times or so can't remember but do we get to find out what he looks like as a child and as an adult. ((there's a lota stuff I wanna know but I'd rather it that people who know it come here to chat about i)) I have the first and second, getting the 3rd soon and I have the first volume of the manga.The manga is way better if I have to say and it shows more detail then he anime. Like the way Arc was killed by Shiki, in the anime we didn't really get to see her body that clearly but in the anime we get a sort of low bird's eye view of it.

Of course, this thread is for FLCL discussion. If you don't know what the series is, it's a mini-series of 6 episodes which happen to be centralized around baseball and a coming-of-age theme. You can catch it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (Saturday).

One aspect that makes the show so noteworthy is it's wide variety of different animation techniques in every episode. During episode 5, Gainax even used "South Park" animation in one of the scenes.

lol, read the spoilers before i watched it so it was silly, i thought he was doing ok, i think even going with suzuka to get the present was a good idea, but someone please let me gag him! going on about suzuka that bit too much was annoying, he really got that wrong.

I think honoka aint that much better in the end, if you think about it she started going out with him but then as soon as that happend she went completely insecure! Yeah she had a fairly good reason, but dont go out with someone if you are gonna doubt every move they make! i think she might have gone a tad overboard at the end, girls normally do though >_> all yamato needed was a wee kick up the arse, as he was explaining to her what had happend. Yes he did it very badly and we all could see where it was going, but she should have handled it differently.

People keep saying they hate yamato, but he is this guy who everyone wants to be the perfect boyfriend at the first try! Its his first girlfriend remember and he is completely confused by his feelings and his friend is giving him really weird/bad advice :p cut the wee laddie a bit of slack, he will learn
