Sometimes I really wonder about Kidz Bop.....

But yeah the Fall Out Boys are pretty good. Not my favorite by they're still cool.

I personally can't stand the lead's whiny voice, with the subpar beats in the background :rolleyes:

I much perfer other artists, like Panic At The Disco!, while they also have a lead with a whiny voice, the background is filled with entertaining beats.

The lead singer actually was gonna try out as drummer for fall out boy , but they put him as lead singer...

I liked two songs on old CD.
Grand theft autumn and Homesick at Spacecamp.
Don't like them now, and it is because I don't like their music now, not because of the publicity and radio plays and stuff... if that was the case, I would have stopped liking P!atD a while ago.

Despite the fact that my usual bands are Megadeth, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Gojira & the like, I do have a soft spot for Fall Out Boy. Sure, they aren't the most talent musicians, but they're better than all that pop music out there. I'd take them over Good Charlotte any day. (No offense to any Good Charlotte fans out there.

You're Crashing, But You're No Wave - I absolutely love it. Really, I do.

The Take Over, The Break's Over - Odd intro, but yeah, the line 'We do it in the dark, with smiles on our faces' is pure genius.

Let me clarify lol, what I meant was that they value money more than making music. I stepped over the edge saying that they "dont care about music", its just that they dont hold it has high has money, which is a big problem for me ( not that its wrong to make money, its just that music>money for musicians, not the other way around). Yes, they give money to different organizations, but so do alot of other bands that make next to NO money, and ANYONE that makes has much money as FOB should donate a good portion to charity.

Not surprised since most bands now a days aren't that famous because todays world is based around hip hop, rap, etc. Have you seen most popular bands today? Popular as in popular by teens and they are not on like TRL or anything. They look like bums and most of them dropped out of high school. It sucks knowing that great bands die when they reach around age 24 because they never got big because most people are into hip hop, rap, etc. If they do get big they eventually disappear and go back to playing tours and Warped Tours to try and get big again. And example would be Sugarcult when their song "Memory" and "She's a Blade" got released they got so big and it was all over MTV, but soon it became old and they pretty much disappeared. Same goes to Yellowcard with "Ocean Avenue" and "Only One". The only way rock bands can get famous for a day is making a catchy song and it sounds mainstream that's about it. I'm not trying to bash rock bands since I listen mainly to rock, but it's the truth.

Lots of bands use hip-hop influence... and they took no risks lol. They are sell outs and posers, they are in the business for the fame and money. Therefore they will not do anything very risky (musically speaking).

As for linkin park doing the same thing, in a way its true. Linkin park is also in a different genre of music than fallout, and really can't be compared. For the genre/style they are in, they are doing something different.

Its a rather popular opinion also. You can tell that they are in it for the money/fame when they do nothing musically risky because they may loose there fan base, and they change their sound next to none. Yes, some bands find that sound and keep it, and there is nothing wrong with it, but these dudes chose the one that would make me tons of cash.
If they were true musicians, they would want to play other music, because there stuff is SOOOOOO easy, because they would want to progress musically. I lol'd when I saw there drummer do a solo (http://youtube.com/watch?v=zEiS_MpB01Y).
this dude isnt even in a band (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4ZuwY_DREoQ) and he pwns andy hurly, and theres not a solo in that song...
I didn't find a guitar solo by them (only covers), so that must tell you something about them... but heres one, yet again, by someone who isn't even in a (serious) band (http://youtube.com/watch?v=owNBEShKFqs&mode=related&search=) and he pwns FOB's guitarists...
My point: FOB are sell outs because they will not progress musically (by there own choice). Thy stay were the money is. Posers wasn't the right word, scene boys is. They are scene boys because they are getting rich off of the scene of little 12-14 (mainly) yr old girls and emo kids.
I'm not attacking anyone on this forum, just stating my opinion.

I think the new album is very different from the first. They tried a few things that I really didn't expect, and I'm pretty sure a lot of fans were turned off to them because of it. "This Ain't A Scene" was a big hit, sure, but a lot of their fans really didn't like the "hip-hop" feel of it. Thats a risk they took, if you ask me.

I'm not saying that any of them are amazing musicians, or are anywhere close to the best out there right now. I'm just saying that they are good at what they do and are fun to listen to. Not groundbreaking, but fun nonetheless.

lol, do you have a "rock" station near your house? all that is played is FOB, Panic!, staind, breaking benjamin, and nickleback (on my stations). People do find there songs catchy and fun ( I find them horrible and they fill me with rage), and the majority of them are the crowd I mentioned earlier, hence why they are sell outs. Nothing is wrong with catchy songs, but catchy songs can have guitar (real) guitar solos. His voice is another thing... he sounds like he has a cold 24/7.

There exists a fine line between emo and goth in my opinion.

Fallout Boy = emo = I despise!

Cradle of Filth = goth/metal = Few good songs!

Well maybe it's just that I don't like punk rock and pseudo-political emo hogwash (not that Fallout Boy is exactly like those, but I lump it in the same category). It goes in my crap category along with: Greenday, My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, and about 90 other bands!

As a musician I tend to prefer artists who, of course, can play their instruments. Not just jam on the same three power chords and whine incoherent lyrics. So naturally, I despise Fall Out Boy. But oh well...

Yes, I acknowledge that I am hating on this band, and for good reason. They have produced nothing that contributes to music, other than the way not to do it. Yes, they may have thousands of fans, but a great majority are 12-14yr old girls (no offense to 12-14 year old girls on this forum) drooling over some dudes that can play a few chords on their guitar and "have a dreamy voice", which is hilarious. His voice is ALMOST has bad as Davy Havok (but AFI has better music by about, .000008%). In other words, this band caters to whatever the crowd wants, which is despicable.
