jasmine road

waking up to the smell of you
felt like sunshine on a winter morning-
only to realize it was the jasmine i left
on the bedside drawer last night.

i saw you in a dream
picking flowers in the fields of elysium;
they yearned for you like you were the sun;
absorbing every drop of your radiance.

i cannot escape my memories
littered across my house as jasmine petals-
the remnants of our history.

it was her favourite;
i love the scent she said,
it's like i'm touching heaven...
and i couldnt agree more.

she only left me with these flowers,
reminiscent of our lifetimes spent.
each night i sleep i dream of her in paradise,
where we will walk together hand in hand

along jasmine road.

i enjoyed reading this although it was tainted by the memory of the first time i smelled fresh jasmine. i am typicaly one for fresh floral sents but, ugh, jasmin has to be the most jagged, displeasing oder most people seem to like. it was star jasmin, not 'real' jasmine but, i still think about it whenever i think jasmine.
but back to the point, i enjoyed reading this. very sentimental and im still seeing jasmine petals strown everywhere.
