Hey newbie ^_^ Ok, so you may want to go rewatch those episodes. We never do see Aizen's bankai, but the explaination is quite clear as to what his Zanpakutou's absolute Hypnosis does. Check it out ;)

I created a thread to discuss whether this is the case or not, am not sure whether it has been binned, most likely by Undying...
The thng is, I dont think anyone has seen his real power yet... once a person is entranced in the ceremony (what Aizen calls "this is my Shikai" while hypnosysing them), they can never get out of it, hence why Ichigo and Co. and Tousen should not be effected...

@fredsapien,

Complete Hypnosis is the Ability of Aizen's Shikai, it is a PASSIVE skill, meaning it happens without him having to call it or order it to do so, complete hypnosis is the ability to Hypnotize anyone who sees the Zanpakuto into believing anything that Aizen wishes, Ex: Aizen in one place while he is in another ( While Fighting Komamura ).

Bankai we have not yet seen.

Clear Enough?

"and how did he become so powerful, maybe even surpassing Yamamoto taicho????"

This one hasn't been answered yet.

Aizen is so strong because he has achieved his limits as a shinigami. How? He trained vigorously. :p
