For those who are wondering which one i mean is badly worded, that would be #36. It could be either 21 or 42, depending on how you read it.

LOL, the ASVAB was pretty easy. I got an 89 when i was a Sophmore in high school, and they made everyone take it.

Then a couple yaers later as a senior, I was talking to the Army recruiter and he asked me to retake it. Got a 99. Then i went and joined the Air Force just to show those army guys.

Well, despite what they may say your "minimum" is, it doesn't hold much water. In the air force, there is a 65 minimum ASVAB req. but it is easy to get a waiver and join up with a 30 or somethin. Just you get stuck with a job like Security Forces.

I would guess both. I personally am very smart about most subject, besides anything language based. But if it has to do with grammar, speaking, or writing a language, i suck at it. I don't know why, but I always score better on those standardized tests than I do in actual class and everyday life. I guess I'm just one of those people who test really well. It's possible that you're the opposite, who test at a lower leven than what they really are. I personally know people like that.... it's just all in where our academic strengths lie.

From everything I've heard about IQ tests, age isn't supposed to matter too much. As someone else said, it tests the ability to process information, not wisdom. Also, they're timed, which means that IQ's generally go down as people age, with the peaks in the teenage and 20 years. People process information slower when they get older, even though they know more information and have more experience. This makes the test inaccurate in testing what people would normally think of as an intelligence quotient. When people age, they certainly do not get less "intelligent". It's the other way around. Anyway, people in those teen and 20 years should be around where the people posting on the forum are (like 110-140), even though 100 is generally considered the average and is supposed to be. I took one online once, but I can't remember exactly what I got, and, like someone else said, I don't trust them even more than official ones, and I don't care. Honestly, it doesn't matter, and I hate IQ tests.

By the way, the lower scores (like, anything less than probably an 80 or 75—I can't remember) are supposed to mean that someone has problems, like developmental or mental problems. There are different ranges that supposedly mean different things, like different levels of mental retardation, or whatever.

By the way, I learned this from my psychology teacher, who has a mentally retarded son. I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

Guys don't take IQ test. It questions your intelligence and will hinder you. It will make you start thinking, "Wow, I'm pretty dumb" or "Wow, I'm pretty smart"

Also, there is no definate IQ test that test all areas of knowledge. The standard IQ test that are often given out are based on mathematic and languistic skills. This is why you take all those tests in school for the state that you never really knew why you were taking. It's to measure your IQ. You can find out your IQ when you turn 18 and ask your school.

However, everyone IMO excel in one area and the IQ test is bias against people that are not great in mathematic and languistic skills. Some people excel in spatial or auditory ability. A person that is a musical genius may well bomb on the IQ test.

I'm going to omit my IQ score because frankly it is a very flawed system. Intelligence isn't something you can measure on a piece of paper.

However, if you are wondering, I scored pretty high =P

IQ is at a constant level I belive. Your age should have no MAJOR influence on how high your IQ is. Inteligence Quoient is not a mesure of how much you know or how smart you are per se, its more of your ability to conprehend and understand, and how fast you do it. At least, thats my interpretation of it.

I don't think age should have a major influence either. However, in my opinion, experience does have at least some influence. For example, when you go from junior high school, then to high school, then to university, your experiences in those environments help in some way to mold the way you think (at least that's what I believe).

BTW, I got 124 on that online IQ test that was posted on the first page of this thread, but I tend to be a little skeptical about these kinds of tests.

You guys are wrong. Here's how IQ works.

It's mental age divided by actual age multipled by 100.

So the average 17 years old would be 17/17 X 100 = 100 which is average IQ.

Mental age is determined by how well you do on the test. This a major flaw in the system because a 1 year old could be a puzzle genius (that's how they do IQ for toddlers) and have the mental age of a 2 years old.

So then it comes out that he is 2/1 X 100 = 200. This would means he's a super genius.

They should just take IQ away because I study psychology and when someone or something tells you what you are, you tend to follow it to the extremes which is bad. People with low IQ will tend to be like: "I'm not going to ever be smart as they are" therefore, they will always not even bother trying. While people scoring extremely high they'll get cocky and condescending.

My teacher was against IQ and he showed the class that we should not be bounded by these "expectations" as it will hinder our goals.

Einstein's IQ was 157 and far from being classified as the "ulimate genius". Clearly I would not try to claim I was the ultimate genius either, However a persons IQ refers directly to their mental capacity. That being the difficulty level which they experience while trying to decipher different equations as well as how much information they can retain at once. There have been many documented cases of people having IQ's well over 280.

Having a high or low IQ does not solidify your position in society. It is just a measure of potential, However what you do with that potential is entirely up to you. Its entirely possible for someone with a low IQ to have more useful information and therefore be more successful than someone with a higher IQ simply because of hard of work and determination. Hypothetically speaking a person with an IQ of 90 could be much better off than a person with an IQ of 200 even though the person with the higher IQ has much more potential. Because while person with the IQ of 90 was studying and determined to better himself. The person with the higher IQ's mental capacity is devoted to Bleach and Naruto trivia.


Having a high IQ is nice but it all depends on what you do with it, And having a low IQ would suck I suppose but with enough determination you can learn the same things as anyone else.

The underlined part: Didn't actually know that. I guess these intelligence stats are often confused for an IQ tests, since I've seen a bunch of them labeled that way.

actually your IQ is dependant on your age, with different scores being acheived with the same marks with different ages...

mine was 127 or 129 last time i did it, takes too long to do it again :/
