What do you think the best game console will be once the PS3 & Wii come out

I think PS3 will beat every console

Speaking Overall, Probably SNES.

Of recent systems, I like my Xbox because I dont have to deal with memory cards, but its generally a matter of opinion.

No judgements on the "next gen" systems, because judging what isnt out yet is moronic, but the Wii is the only one of any real interest to me, the others seem like their predecessors with a new graphics card and a few hundered bucks tacked on.

I'll wait until they've all been out long enough to have a decent game library, and then make my judgement after I play them.

I know that everyone says PS3 but I have a feeling that the Wii might be the best next gen console. All of the negative rumours about the PS3 really make me doubt how sony is going to get the PS3 to sell. Also i don't believe the 360 will win the next console war either. It seems many consumers are waiting for the other two consoles now. The Wii has innovation on it's side and is appealing to many people now. The games coming out for it ( including a bleach one) seem promising enough. Well that's my opinion on the all the next gens. For best ever i would say SNES most likely and for current i would say PS2

PS3 or 360 and Wii for me next generation. Not sure if I'll get PS3 or 360, but I'm sure I'll get at least one of them. I'll definitely get a 360 is MS steps up the X-Box games support since I only had a PS2 and GCN this generation.

i think Wii will have a great advance since it has turned out so unique. people often like what stands out from the crowd (or sumthing like that)

But Wii won't have as good graphics as the Ps3, right?... there are graphic hunters out there that only choose the one with the best graphics.. Still as long as the graphics are decent it's good enough for me.

Yeah thats true... its really a shame that people want games for graphics, not for gameplay...
I dont really care about the graphics as long as i get the idea whats going on. And the graphics they have on Gc,ps2 and xbox are more than fine with me but people allways want more and better.

I pretty much agree here, you will probably want a PS3 if the next Nintendo lacks a wide range of RPGs/Fighters like the Gamecube. 360 is good et al, but theres not really any games out for it that interest me.

Best System: Genesis, Dreamcast (so, so underrated)
Current: PS2, DS
Future: who knows?

I think overall SNES was the best console ever. Sega Genesis would be number 2 for me. I haven't like any of the consoles after those 2 that much, but I'm looking forward to the Nintendo Wii.

past-the mega drive or the game boy colour both classics with good games.
present-x-box had my favorite games the best graphics, live etc
future- dunno at the moment the 360 and the wii but if the ps3 pulls it's finger out and get some decent games it may make it a 3 way battle.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the PS3, mainly for the games it has. The special features are going to be cool, but the games are what I like and with stuff like DMC and Final Fantasy, I'm willing to sacrifice stuff on the Wii and the 360.

The special features are almost identical to the 360, only the 360 was first to do it, Personally there is no "best console" I hold each one in high regard and on equal terms simply because of the different titles/experiences/Innovations they each bring to the table, I find anyone who has time to be a fanboy retarded, simply because they miss out on so much, fanboys shouldn't be allowed to be called gamers.

This is the perfect topic for some serious flamewars. Just imagine a scenario where we have the graphic whores on one side, and the fanboys on the other.. Can you say carnage?

Since we're prior to the launch of the two last entries in the next-gen war, I'm not entirely sure if I even want to comment on which one I think will be the winner. There's too much of a difference between PS3/X-Box360 and the Wii to really decide on which one is the best. I bought a GameCube at the last turnpoint (but that was more or less because of Zelda), and never really wanted another consoll.

I think the "winner" of the next "war" will be the ones who manage to get out to the public, since Nintendo SUCKED at promoting their GC, they basically lost the interest from the hobby-gamers, which turned to the PS2 because they know way more about it. Another mistake Nintendo made with their current system is the lack of variety when it comes to different ages. It's not that the GC lacked games a 20 guy would like to play, but we all know racing and horror/fps-games sells better in that age-group. Mario Party and Pokémon won't win the people at that age over to Nintendo!

I believe that the change of names from Revolution to Wii was a great move. Just as yourselves this: Which consoll has recieved more time in the media since that announcement? Answer: The Wii! Everyone in the gaming-communities talked about Nintendo's bold choice of name. Even if some whiners say "I wonnt bai teh wii cuz it sonds leik someting I do at teh toilet", more people noticed the Wii and got interested. The graphic whores are another problem, but they shouldn't call themselves gamers anyway. The Wii will still have better graphics than the original X-Brick, so there's no reason for any of us to despair. Just look at how well they managed to squeeze the power of the GC at the end of it's life! Resident Evil 4 looked beautiful beyond belief (ok, I'm getting to like this shit now).

I will buy the Wii, because that's the consoll which has peaked my interest the most since everyone started to talk about the next-gen. I just hope they have learned from their past mistakes, and get's better PR even after launch. They do have the support from loads of third party developers as well, which is very important for the success.

Eventually, I will probably shell out for a PS3 as well, but I won't do so before they have the price at a reasonable level (and perhaps release a PS3-lite?).

Oh, almost forgot my list as well:

Best Console EVER: A tie between the SNES and the Game Boy (-franchize).
Best Current one: they all have their good's and bad's, so NONE (MWAHAHA)
Most interesting next-gen: The Wii (with the PS3 at a close second).
Most interesting n-g game: One Piece: Unlimited Adventure

I agree with you. I did not mean to sound like a Fan boy or anything like that, but what I should rephrase it as is that I will be buying the PS3 first. If i can get lucky enough to get money for the Wii later. While I do like the 360, I don't think I'll be buying one.

i am bored with every game thats out these days. i need a new experience, so ill go for the wii. ps3 is too expensive and with that amount of money i might as well buy a new PC, or buy a wii with a dozen games to boot lol.
graphics are of no consequence for me, i mean, i still have fun playing bomberman on the snes. as long as gameplay and/or story is good, i will play it.

:eek13: There are a lot of things we don't know about it? I'm pretty sure its entire specs have been announced now. I don't fully understand you on the HDD side of things (are you saying 60 is a lot? because its not, especially with online games taking 6/7 gigs to fully install) when PC's have upwards of 200 now (I've had 360 gig for over a year).

I'll probably buy the games you mentioned too but its super-fanboyism to claim them as the best games in the world when you've never even played them, just because the prequels were good. I undertsand many people supporting one console (when you're young youy can usually only afford one) but the truth is you inevitabley get good games come out on all systems.
