Void

Stars are all that surround you here,
A void where only you remain,
Where the bad can't touch you,
And the good kept within that void.

"Do not be afraid to stay here",
A voice so speaks in your mind,
"Yet do not be afraid to step out",
Contradicting the very thoughts in your head.

Its beautiful here, calm,
Peaceful, silent,
Lonely, abandoned,
Lost, by yourself.

Out there its harsh,
Dangerous, scary,
Adventure, company,
Accepted, by others.

This void is open,
Accessed whenever you need it,
However, don't stay here for too long,
For it becomes harder to go back.

Reality, though complicated it may be,
Is where we stand,
However, don't be afraid to enter that void,
For it protects your sanity.
