Depths of Reality

Reality
Choose your illusion
Its still there calling out
Ever so faintly

When you look into that lake
See the face of illusion staring at you
A droplet hits the water
Shimmering you see the hidden depths of reality

As fast as it comes it goes
Curiosity fills you
Do you take that dip
You might drown

Surface is so sweet
So pure and glittering
The depths so dark
And empty

Before you realize it
Something is pushing you towards that lake
Towards the dark depths of reality
To a fate unforeseen

You knew this would come
But not this quickly
Not now, your not ready
To sink or swim

In the depths of reality many drown
But in the illusion you’ll never see
The true light of this world
The true colours behind the darkness

5th Stanza is the best very graphic description and use of metaphors..

I also like the last stanza a lot. I find it quite creepy, but it has a weird futuristic beauty. This poem is very full of imagery for one that is describing a concept as opposed to an object or emotion, but I think it works. Another great poem :)
