if ichigo is 15 years old in the anime.. then i'd say hitsugaya is around 12 or 13 years old based on his appearance though he may be older because shinigamis and people in SS age slower than people do in the normal world. ;)

I believe that Hitsugaya is slightly more than a 100 years old. He has definitely grown alot since Momo was still at the academy, and since that Shinigami age very slowly, then Hitsugaya must be quite old.

Ok, Hitsugaya and all people in Soul Society have two different age.

1. Their appearance age.
2. Their actual age.

Hitusgaya's appearance age seems to be 10-13 years old. However, his actually age may well be over 100 years old because 1 year in normal world is about 10 years in Soul Society according to Rukia.

Rukia is (human years) apparently 2-3 years older then Hitsugaya. At least that's what it looks like to me!

Yeah, I agree with everyone who uses the Rukia example. Rukia is 150 years old (she told Ichigo that the first time they met). Hitsugaya looks... maybe 12? Cuz he still looks like a boy, but he already had a voice change. As a guy, I remembered that when I was 12, I still looked like a kid but my voice was as deep as a teenager's.

Yeah, you see him when he looks about 8 when Hinamori leaves for SS. You then she what her, Renji, Rukia and Kira look like at that time. They all look marginally younger than they do now. When you see Aizen and Gin at around that time, they look exactly the same.

So, that means that it was probably about 4 or so "Soul Society years" ago. That is, since Shinigami age slower, the characters that looked about 13 or 14 now look around the 17 or 18 mark (given that Ichigo is meant to be 15) and the characters who had already matured (Gin and Aizen) didn't change, just like a man wouldn't really change between 28-32.

Going off that, Hitsu looked about 8 or so when Momo left, so now that would mean he looks about 12, which I think fits.

Also, given that Rukia tells Ichigo that she's "almost 10 times older" than he is, that means she is almost 150. So, in a very loose way, we could imagine that there's about 10 shingami years to a human one in terms of physical maturation. Maybe once you get mature there's thousands of years left... I don't know.

Anyway, that means that Hitsu would be about 120 or so. To be honest, it's hard to see why he should be so much of a child prodigy. There are people not that much older than him (in SS years) who are also meant to be of captain level.

In that Rukongai flashback of Renji and Rukia, they aged progressively in a 10-year skip. Basically from children to adults.

I reckon Hitsugaya looks more of a mid-teen; ~15 years, and could probably around 150+ (When Rukia made that estimation of her tenfold age over Ichigo, she would have gone solely on appearance, as she didn't know him at all then).

I wasn't referring to the Rukongai bit, but the bit when you first seem them join SS, and Renji screws up his fireball thing. They seem to be about 4 or 5 younger visually than they are now.

Though, as you say, it would be hard to tell the age of Bleach characters because of the way that KT draws them.
