Starcraft: Ghost - dead

Well its been dead for quite a while now...
Blizzard abandoned the Starcraft: Ghost project for a reason which i dont know.... and if im gonna find the reason somewhere on blizzard.com then itll give me a headache.

So anyone knows why? :(

There's been no official reason given for its cancellation.

They announed it over 5 years ago and as you probably know, its been delayed a fair few times. Blizzard pulled down the website for it earlier this year and announed it was indefinately suspended. Reasons for them pulling the plug are all specualtion, some people think they had staffing problems or are now concentrating on a new Starcarft. As it was slated for ps2/xbox only I think now would be a bit late to release it anyway.

It's kinda sad... but at the same time, I'm hoping they consider making a new Starcraft RTS instead. That would be way better than some adventure with an unknown heroine. Although... I guess it would have been nice to see what it was like to fight an Ultralisk first hand buuuuut... I'll still take a new RTS over that anyday.

Dang! I was hoping for this game to come out... it looked like fun... But I guess one of the reasons it got cancelled was that their 5 year delay. Like if they do release it now, the graphics would be 5 years back, now that wouldn't be very intresting, would it?

Yeah, all of your speculations are as what the rumour said. The game was made for ps2/xbox, but then ps3/xbox 360 is coming out so itll be so far behind.. And i also think that they were having a hard time doing ghost along with word of warcraft...

There is only one reason for their cancellation/delay of Starcraft Ghost.

SC Ghost was annouce about the same time WoW was released. WoW became huge as hell and had wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more subscribers than initially planned. They also had to hire more staff to monitor the servers and provide constant updates and what nots.

Also, they must be focusing all their resources currently on finishing the WoW: Burning Crusade to be release I think in November. I mean if they delay that then they got about 5 MILLION unhappy gamers + probably about 10 millions more that have retired and are coming back when expansion release.

So it all came down to money, focus more resource on WoW which generating them more money than any other games they had previously release OR finish a game that could potentially end in a flop.

Well, to today's standard in graphics it's pretty bad. I mean it's still 2D.

It's a lot like Age of Empires, however, it is truly one of the best games ever. It's a classic, and I still enjoy playing it sometimes.

For LAN, it's great. One of the best RTS ever.

Starcraft still pawns today... I like it better than some new RTS games that have good graphics but has terrible gameplay :p

Yeah, one the best game ive played so far.

OH and SC has a really good story line as well as really awesome characters and even more awesome cinematics :D
