This series is...too wierd for me. It's too much like naruto.
I liked the theme song, as well as Yashamaru, Okoi, and that dude witht he metal band thing over his nose (character design-wise)
The rest of the cast, as well as the overall plot, seems really dorky. I dunno I saw eps 1 and 2 fully, and skipped ahead to ep 6 to see Okoi (*sigh*) and I wasn't too impressed.
When will they make a ninja anime in which Ninja can use ki/chi/whatever, but not be tottaly off the wall ridiculous and have nice designs? (Yashamaru's ability was nice, cause it relied on the hair, and his master even said that if it misses he's screwed. However the spider dude...the fat guy...the old dude with stretchy limbs. those all seemed so ridiculous)
Sorry for the rant XD

Samurai Champloo > Ninja ??? :redbiggri

Yatsuha was a pretty awesome anime ninja, I'd say (the girl from Champloo whom Mugen kept going after)
Anyways, I was thinking that this show had a Samurai Deeper Kyo syndrome. Ya know, the anime is wierd and just....wierd and the manga is actually better. Nah, the manga is just as bad, in fact it's worse in a sense that four or so characters are already dead by chapter 6 (and it's 50 some chapters)
The show gets some props from me for one particular character, that guy from the intro with the metal band over his nose. He's got no arms or legs, and relies entirely on a frog-like tongue. Crawls around like a snake and his speciality is reading stars. I thought that was pretty nifty.
Other than that, I prefer my ninja like Rikimaru & Ayame from Tenchu, or like...I dunno, Ryu Hayabusa of Ninja Gaiden. I don't mind if they're all asskicking in your face, so long as they're all legitimate. I mean, a lot of Ninjutsu was nothing more than using tools and claiming it was magic, not mutations :/
Samurai Champloo > Ninja ??? :redbiggri
well kinda! i guess they arnt really ay, samurai and ninja all the same to me :P my point is the fighting in samurai champloo with only somewhat possible 'techniques' that dont involve balls of energy and summoning giant frogs, i thought i would get bored of it but all the fighting was still cool - although their was that ep against that freak guy :o

Yeah, I agree. I'm all for traditional ninja "magic" Like Kage Bunshin (before Naruto tottaly bastardized it >.<) or Kawarimi (Same), or even the invisible slash (forgot it's actual name, throwing a shuriken at a foe or ricocheting it off something so it slashes them, and you trick them into thinking they were cut by an invisible foe, or you moved so fast that you cut them and returned to your original position)
But the whole ki balls, summoning, and all that junk belongs in dragonball z or something else :/

So anyone seen the latest episode? That Yashamaru punk got pwned so easily, I was dissapointed.

After Juubei died in ep 3, i pretty much lost interest, as he was the only cool chara, aside from yashamaru in my opinion.
Okoi started cool, but that whole blood power stuff was retarded :/

Indeed, and If I'm not mistaken she has pwned 2 of them ?!

No, killed just one from what I've been told. And she herself died, killed by that fruitcake who fights with his hair.
So she served no purpose other than to be some useless fanservicey character, which pissed me off :/

Characters die too fast in this anime which is a lil' disappointing&annoying.
Basilisk is dropped.
Per request of Funimation, Basilisk has been dropped as an Anime-Kraze project. If you have an fserv in #anime-kraze, please make sure you remove any Basilisk episodes. The Basilisk torrents will be going down and the files will be removed from the bots shortly.
Sh*t. Ani-Kraze's subs owned IY4ever's.

This anime was really predictable but I really liked it. the ending was pretty sad ;_;
4 year old thread, rae. :eek13:
lol, i liked this cuz it was darker than usual ninja shows. plus it actually followed the manga.

There were quite a few boob shots in the anime too. Well... at least one :P

there were? I don't remember them really showing them
there were a LOT more in the manga, then.
not that that's important.

It is very important! xD
Even though the manga and anime were pretty much the same, I liked the manga better. I'm not sure why
art looked better compared to most other mangas?
while the anime was average in that department.

I get what you mean. Although I've never read the manga, I do think that Basilisk put on 2D paper is more appealing than its 3D anime counterpart. The reason I think is the darker atmosphere that the manga would give off over the anime.
