Bleach episode 90 discussion

Wow this looks like a really good episode, anyways heres the short summary ive found from all the screencaps

This episode is mainly about the fight agaisnt ugaki(SP?) and renji, renji goes bankai and finally beats the bountou and his doll. The team makes it to the heart of the cave were jin and his bountou crew are waiting. After what looks to be lots of talking ichigo squares off agaisnt jin and loses at the end of the episode. The episode preview for next week shows ichigo in his sub-conscience world with zangetsu, it shows ichigo fighting jin in his bankai, and it shows ishida showing up with his bow/quincy outfit.(His bow seems to look a lot differant btw)

If anyone can find a better summary please post it and ill update.

This episode looks quite entertaining, its been a eon since we've seen Renji's Bankai. Plus Renji's loosing streak appears to come to a end although his first victory isn't suppossed to come yet. The preview gets me excited cuase of three simple yet beautiful words: TENSA ZANGETSU RETURNS!!! Ishida also looks pimp with revived powers, hopefully they'll do the RIGHT thing and take away his powers once more so the manga won't be ruined. The fillers are still gonna last for a few episodes, probably ending at 100 or somewhat over. If you read the upcoming titles for 91-95 at animenewsnetwork.com then you'll understand why I say that.

And the thing with aizen i think is just a flashback ichigo or someone was having, if you notice in the picture its the same scene from when he was floating up to HM.

I'm still curious, do you think that invader in SS is a whole new bountou?

An okay episode meant to be a setup episode. Renji's bankai did not dissapoint and introduced a new move from Renji. I'm just wondering about the last line Kariya said. He said that Soul Society brought the bountou to life. Were they a failed experiment or an accident or was the translation incorrect? It looks like Ichigo will pwn next episode or at least put up a fight unlike this one and I find Ishida's outfit weird and boxy. The Shingami Cup was funny considering that Ganju is considered to be ugly.

Actually it seemed like the Bounto were saying they were going to try and destroy Soul Society. So, I guess well see fights between captains and bounto, that'll be interesting I guess. Ichigo got creamed without releasing his bankai or even using his shikai ability, how sad:LOL: . Now they get to stretch the filler arc out longer.

This episode was decent mainly because the doll that bounto used wasnt so cheesy. Not like friggin water or a whale or something, but a big alien-esque monster. Least thats how I feel. I'm betting well see fights with Byakuya, Zaraki, and Ishida soon.

Yep...when he became a shinigami, Renji,Hinamori,and Kira was in the 5th divison since Aizen thought they had potential. Hinamori and Kira were loyal while Renji was rebelious so he was moved to the 11th division where he met Ikkaku and Ikkaku taught Renji how to fight....later on Renji was upgraded to VC of 6th division under Byakuya Kuchiki


This episode was off the chain. Arguably the best filler episode ever. They do a really decent job with the fillers.

Nope :( i did the same thing. Ichigo rolling on the ground in slo-mo for about 15 seconds was way overdone, and the fight with jin seemed like it was animated very poorly. But over all a good episode.

I think the bountou are going to turn out to be some twisted experiment mayuri has done, perhaps something that was developed when he studied the quincy. Also since the bountou are going to SS, it looks like we might see a zaraki vs ichinose fight, even though i think it will be like half an episode long.

Anyway, Kayira reminds of Aizen, he was able to stop Ichigo's soul slayer with his arm and finger, just like what Aizen did back then. I wonder if Aizen and Kayira are in cahoots together, that would explain something.

anyhow if kariya is dead, the leftover bountous are meant to die. they are stupid to go to ss.in ss,the reaitsu is said to be a lot 100 or more higher than real world could obtain. so its easier to go bankai. and own lol. bountous should learn to obey.

wow i bet most of u are anticpated to say why zangetsu himself din appear in manga. tats wat anime + manga of bleach did. the clever way.its a fact that he'll appear anyhow. since ichigo and zangetsu have a lot to talk about and seeks zangetsu's power. i bet we can see zangetsu healing him like the battle with kenpachi.such punches from kariya is big damage so... the bankai ichigo shud be getting high powered(injured and pwning kariya mayb3).based on my opinion,kariya will get owned at ss.coz he might juz say "very well,ur stronger... kariya gets hit i guess and then retreats to ss" or "say nice match" kariya prob get owned in ss. its a guaranteed or ichigo owning him and the other bountous are going to risk their lifes at ss.

Geselle is by far my favorite Doll at the moment. The whole control system using cards is strange though. It looks like you can only use it with some prep-time. Does anyone else notice the similarities between them and the avatars of Zanpakutous? I guess Bounto really are a shinigami creation.

The next episode should be very good. It'll be interesting to see Ichigo as anything but a puss after so long. I'm thinking he'll give Kariya a run for his money and then he'll make his retreat for Soul Society, which doesn't make too much sense. You're suppose to withdraw to escape danger. Yamamoto would crush all of the Bounto without breaking a sweat.

It's about time Zangetsu made an appearance! Before I read all of the current manga I was waiting for Ichigo to talk with Zangetsu, via materialization or going to his inner world, about his inner hollow and why he can't use bankai (which must be a psychological issue). But it looks like Zangetsu will have to step in right when Ichigo is on the brink of death again and set him straight. Oh, and speaking of straight, the Shinigami Zukon was hilarious!

Anyways, with Abarai's bankai release (even though it was 1/5th it's true size and strength), the most complete humiliation and ownage of Ichigo since his first fight with Zaraki/Byakuya (whichever you think was more humiliating), and the awesome preview this is definitely the best episode of the Bountou/filler-arc yet, until next week that is...
(Plz let the Arrancar arc start by episode 100!)

actually yes he was before his promotion to vc he was the 11th division 6th seat, i believe it was stated in the manga somewhere and even in the anime

Episode 90 wasn't very good, and sometimes really boring. Animation quality was the worst I've ever seen in fillers <damn>. But finally we saw Renji's Bankai again and I hope in next ep we'll see Ichigo's. I wonder about Kariya words. Does it mean that Bounts were created by freaks like Mayuri? Then I could understand Bount's feelings and I'd take revenge.

I liked this episode a little.I would have liked if they would have featured Ishida.The next episode preview was hillarious.I didn't know the Store Manager swung that way XD.

The things I do not like:

- The bounto who opened the portal used german and used it with a completly false gramatical order. If the evil ones have to be german again then they should at least put enough effort into it and make a complete and correct sentence ...

- The part where Renji used that move with his bankai was ... umm ... was this atk ever in the manga ? I cant remember it. I have the feeling it was made-up for this episode and we will never see it again. Anyway I might be wrong here, but I want to know in which chapter he used it ...

- Renji beeing part of the 11th division. It fits him ofc, but I want to know in which chapter this was stated as well.

- The animation. It looked really strange in the first half of the episode and in the second part when Ichigo whirled around after Karias hit.

- The preview for the next chapter was just crazy if you ask me...
They will probably mess something up with showing Zangetsus avatar after Ichigo archieved bankai.

Things I liked:
- Renji showing his bankai.

- They finally put some action into these fillers.

- That tarot-card bastard died a painfull death.

- We will finally see Ichigos bankai again...

This is the first decent filler episode, but it still had a lot of cons. I liked the fact that finally the good guys are starting to kick some ass. Unfortunately, in the end, Ichigo is still getting owned. This means that the Bountos can concur SS because Ichigo can defeat most of the Shinigamis there.

i couldn't stand the fact that Ichigo couldn't do jack. hell, if renji is capable of activating Bankai (although it does defy the notion that VC rank and higher have their reiatsu purposely lowered), then it shouldn't be a problem for ichigo. at the least i was hoping for an appearance from Hichigo. in any case, the next episode is hopefully a lot better.

Blech. Flashbacks from the canon episodes = bad. The bad animation of the fillers looks so much worse when there's an accessible basis for comparison like that. I guess it was ok... storywise, but the whole "bad guys standing in a row" bit was so cheesy. I dunno if it's just me, but the next episode's animation seems to be considerably better.

What will really piss of a lot of fans is if they rush to end the fillers and then have another filler? That would be the kiss of death for this anime and the first step into becoming Naruto. I'd rather they take the fillers slowly rather than rush to finish a filler and realize they need another filler.

As for this episode, I have to confess I have been lying low on this board since defending the recent emo OrihimexRukia episode and subsequently being subjected to a few filler episodes that were so terrible I stopped even paying attention. However, they finally seem to have gotten a little more interesting again. The bountou now make at least a little bit of sense following Kariya's reveal, and don't seem quite so lame, and Ichigo doesn't seem quite so lame for not being able to beat people who aspire to beat all of Soul Society (a significant portion of which Ichigo still wouldn't stand a chance against).

I actually thought it was a kinda cool moment when, after leaving behind various friends in the confusion of trying to fight through to the bountou, Ichigo stumbles into the main chamber, and finds himself very much alone, and facing several somewhat scary people, inasmuch as several of them have personally handed his ass to him already. And with a bigger budget for the fillers, it wouldn't have been just "kinda" cool.

the has only been 54 chapters of the manga since the soul society arc ended so i doubt fillers will end soon, 182 chapters gave us what was the first 63 episodes of Bleach so think about it, (you can do the math)

I actually thought it was a kinda cool moment when, after leaving behind various friends in the confusion of trying to fight through to the bountou, Ichigo stumbles into the main chamber, and finds himself very much alone, and facing several somewhat scary people, inasmuch as several of them have personally handed his ass to him already. And with a bigger budget for the fillers, it wouldn't have been just "kinda" cool.

To be fair, Aizen didn't stop Ichigo's attack at all. He made Ichigo *believe* that he had been stopped.

Aizen isn't Superman; he technically (going from the Anime alone) doesn't even know Shunpo. He has a good mastery of demon magic (using the #99 Black Coffin Attack w/o an incantation), and he's got his complete hypnosis.

Beyond that, he could be a pushover. All we know is that he is good at demon magic and using his shikai; who knows if he can actually FIGHT or not?

Ichigo managed to stop the Soukyoku, which supposedly had the power of 1,000 bankais (???), so at that moment, he had a higher reiatsu than not only anyone in SS...but most likely more reiatsu than everyone *combined* in SS. And even that wouldn't be enough to defeat Aizen, because his ability ignores things like strength and speed, affecting the senses directly.

So i dont think Aizen could straight up block Ichigo's attack unless he used his Complete Hypnosis to make Ichigo believe he had been blocked

Notice how after he blocked the attack, Ichigo got *randomly* sliced up for no apparent reason?

a few things:1. i agree with the whole aizen thing. maybe he's not as powerful as he's making himself out to be but making everybody believe that he's countering all their moves and being so strong.(about his sword attacks doing so much damage. A direct attack from any captains sword would be brutal if you weren't ready for it. which is the case since you're almost always paying attention to his illusion.and he is a master of kidou.) 2. Bounto going to SS equals death cause all the captains and vice captain are ten times stronger plus all the shinigami that are already there (no way they can win) 3. i believe that episode pretty much confirmed the extension of the fillers beyond episode 100, because at the end ichigo still wasn't ready to beat Kariya, or any of the other remaining five!!! plus they just revealed another plot twist (the whole soul society thing), which means we have to hear the whole story behind bountos and SS. i will bet my money the fights are only going to be after some deep 2 episode explanation of the history. plus each bounto is going to tell his story before they fight, which means 2 episode per remaing bounto except for kariya, which i assume will be longer since he is "the final boss". that being said i dont mind the filler that much and some bleach is better than no bleach.

Yeah, the drawing quality of Bleach has been going down hill a little ever since episode 1.
If you compare the quality of episode 1~10 with like 50~ you'll be able to see how great the quality loss is.
And since fillers, it's just gone uber-down-the-hill..
I don't know if they changed the drawing studio that does Bleach or something, but it's like they don't give a damn about details. Not even abit.
And the character drawing sucks too...
(God.. Once you start to compain about fillers, it's hard to stop :D )

Anyways, I think the fillers will last for a good deal longer, perhaps even a year, as some ppl mentioned. Since, let's take Naruto for example, I don't know if they are doing so many fillers because they want more episodes to sell to the US (or something), or it's really that they need the manga almost a year ahead..
And if we assume that the manga needs to be so many chapters ahead of the anime, before the arc can begin.. Well... Then we're screwd...

I had a theory once that an anime does not start, until the manga finishes that spesific Arc...
And since I don't follow the manga (not past the anime anyway...) I can't really say how far we can guess we are from being finished with the whole Aizen thing...

I thought this filler was pretty decent. Renji going bankai was too sudden for me. I don't recall seeing a reason why Renji can all of sudden go bankai. Unless this has to do with the meeting between yama-jin and byakuya to release the seal on earth for shinigami.

It was nice to see Renji finally win on fight. :) I wish they could of made it more dramatic like Ichigo's first bankai moment.

Anyway, next week's episode looks awesome. Zangetsu has returned and we get to finally see Ichigo bankai in filler. I guess the current filler arc may be wrapping up soon. Don't know if they will start a new filler arc or return to manga. If they return to manga, they are going to air a filler in between because it's still close to manga.

Well, the first bit where they were spying on Sound was a bit stupid, but after that the bug catching, bounty hunting, and "curry of life" seemed fairly high quality and engaging, for filler. In fact I could have seen the bounty hunting thing going on for quite a bit more than two episodes. It was fun. Naruto taking Konohamaru & Co. on that survival exercise was decent as well. And, unlike Bleach, the ability of the animators to draw the characters hasn't been deteriorating exponentially.

The only "bad" episode of Naruto filler I've seen would have to be where two guys impersonated Gai and Lee. But even that was kinda funny for the first ten minutes. So in the choice between more episodic material with consistent animation and characters that act like themselves, and a long rambling arc that doesn't seem to know where it's headed accompanied by terrible animation and overall production quality, not to mention rather screwed up interpretations of the characters and feel of the story, I'll tend to lean toward the former.

Have you guys seen the "Shinigami cup Golden!" at the end of epi. 90, Is ganju's, (or whatever his name is...) boss in that 24 hour thing gay, because what i got from that SCG, was that Ganju likes women and his boss finds out and is sad about that!!! I'm 13, so i'm not the best on what adults think!!!

Strangely, I hardly noticed anything in the preview (goes to rewatch). I thought that Zangetsu might have taught Ichigo how to go all Vizored, but real world Bankai is just as nice =D Also, props for finally seeing a BanKai in the real world, and it being Renji for that matter:doindadom :winking56 I'm still waiting to see that one vice-captain's shikai...
