I saw the movie and I thought it was a pretty good representation of the book. Any thoughts post here.

Yet another British comedy rape victim. It was an awful adaptation which has tainted the original BBC series for me forever. I cried, I cried, I slept for a bit, I cried, I cried, I wished for my own death, then the movie ended and I went home. Well I guess it was ok... I did manage to steel all the cursed fliers again. I have hundreds of tiny pictures of Christina Ricci… I keep one of them in the photo window of my wallet
Not to steel the thread but did anyone watch Shaun of the Dead last year? Any thoughts?

Yeah I watched Shaun of the Dead 8 times at the cinema. Within the space of a week. If you like Shaun of the Dead you should watch the TV comedy series it’s based on called spaced. It really is the funniest comedy of all time.

I thought the second book was pretty cool I mean the entire problems in the book was caused by a stupid cup of coffee.

Yes I saq HHGttG and it was pretty close to the book. But they forgot the Towel entry! That was one of my favorite parts of the book! Now whenever I go somewhere I bring a towel!

I liked the movie and I have read all the books. When I saw the previews for it I didn't expect it to be an exact adaptation of the books but even though it wasn't it was still a funny and good moive. I really liked the singing dolphins at the beginning.
I think the best bit of this movie was the dolphins at the start then it goes down hill after that.
As soon as I saw the new version of Zaphod I was really disappointed. He didn't seem to have the charisma needed, he was just acting more like a jerk. He seemed to be acting far too macho and ape like about his claim on Trillian.
Plus I thought the Hitchhicker book could have been featured more, as it did in the original series. You don't understand how dire the poetry is, without the example being shown in the Hitchhickers book on screen.

I liked the movie, but some of the huomour was more suitable for a book. I think I need to watch again to get them. I loved it whenever the narrator talked, so funny.

iv heard it was a dissapointment to people who read the books, but then i took it at face value and thought it was a rather good film in its own right.
Just not if youv seen the series or read the book :/
