I searched and I couldn't find a thread on this. >.>
Close this if there is.
A friend and I were debating about this.
I think the Nintendo DS is better than the PSP.
Why?
+ Because you can still play previous Gameboy games whereas on the PSP, you have to buy new ones rather than just being able to use your own Playstation games.
+ PSP was recalled 8 times in Japan. Meaning, they had problems with the PSP.
+ DS has a touchscreen! <3
+ And, I myself am a Nintendo girl.
Please don't just state which one you like better, support your answers? :]

i would say DS is better. DS has much more games for its system and they are much more enjoyable to me, as the DS mostly has RPG and puzzle games. The only thing the PSP has going for it is the graphocs and internet, but the DS will soon be getting internet anyways.

As a total Nintendo fanboy, I obviously prefer the DS. Not only is the PSP more expensive, but the only game it has that appeals to me is the megaman X port. And since I own the original SNES game and the X Collection, I see no point in buying it.
Meanwhile the DS has Metroid, Castlevania, Mario Kart, Kirby, Mario Bros. and Warioware, with Zelda, Final Fantasy and another Castlevania on the way.
Is there even a comparison?

dam fan b!tchs . . naw jk i own both an ill say that DS has more an better game than the PSP, DS control is definitely innovative (though im not really into the innovative games myself) the PSP looks great very sexy an i all ways gave it to the psp for when it comes to looks but since the lite came out i got to say looking good, looking good. but for all the DS have going for it the psp still hands down a better handheld. tons of feature! homebrew, psxxx, mp3, powerful, movies, etc. . yes the control sucks, the game are at all moderate but the potential of the PSP is what makes it great. PSP . . . FTW.

I would say psp because it has better games and better rpg's and tittles coming out for it soon such as crisis core,A MGS game,Killzone liberation,Rachet and clank, valkrye profile lenneth.Just to name a few.though the ds is coming out with some good games and rpg's soon to I just don't think they will match up with the psp current and future line up.

As of now, I like the PSP way more than the DS, it has much more variety to me. The games I thought looked good for DS ended up really simple or really junk to play.

Neither is better than the other, it's all about personal choice.
But Point Blank on the DS? *drool* all the fun with a gun only swapped for a stylus. Genius!

I prefer the DS. Jump Superstars itself is worth it. There's loads of pwnage titles as well plus it's a way more innovative device.

I prefer the DS more, but the PSP is now shaping up into a great portable on it's own. They both have great games coming out in the future as well, so I'm sure they both will continue to do well everywhere (except in Japan where the DS is clearly ahead).

I've always like playstation more than Nintendo. So i'm going to have to go with the PSP.
I don't own any of them, but if I where to buy one, the choice would be obvous. From what I've seen/heard, the PSP has better graphics, you can store both pictures and music in it.
And I've heard the UMD's are quite good.
As for the DS, i find it too childish:rolleye09

Ok The PSP is the next Generation of what Handheld games will be like. If they could make a better version of the PSP, cheaper more durable, then The PSP would own, but for the average family that has average of 2.5 kids depending wether they got the top or the bottem half of the .5 kid they would need 2-3 PSPs and they would most likily get broken, so for the average family Ds is right for them, But for teens and adults, PSP PWNS!

The DS i reckon because it is more origonal than the PSP and the PSP is just a ploy for Sony to try to destroy Nintendo.
the ds seems better cuz the games are more fun

The DS is the obvious winner. Wi-fi is amazing. The games have a broader horizon. Sonys handheld isn’t bad. Though in the end the PSP isn’t really a 'core' gaming system. Its more like an Ipod. Which brings me to the SD card reader I got in the mail yesterday actually for my DS. Making the PSPs features, seem kind of pointless. PSP has a few good games. Like Ratchet and Socom. But the DS is not only innovative itself, but it acts on that innovation very strong. Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart (Arguably the best racing game ever), Metriod Prime Hunters. PSP does have its own little classics on the PSP. (mostly bad playsation ports) Too bad the camera is very hard too control, and that nubby thing is annoying. PSP has a few good features I cant do with my SD card reader. But those are things that I wouldn’t buy a PSP for. Sony failed with its handheld, Nintendo focused on the one thing that matters, good games and how too make those games better. Looking at the future of the PSP and the future of the DS .
Star Fox ds
Yoshi Island 2 DS
Donkey Kong DS
need I say more?
UMDs failed because not only does the PSP battery suck with out some sort of enhancer, but UMDs are expensive and you’d never really watch them. DS has a ton good games. The PSP has a few okay ones. In the end a true gamer, buys a system for the games. Nintendo’s demographic isn’t just for children ethier. It appeals too all ages. Just because a game has colors doesn’t mean its for children. Just because it has an 'E' rating doesn’t mean its for children. Sony has been ripping off Nintendo for years. This time Nintendo took a huge risk Sony wasn’t willing too take. And it worked.
Nintendo DS wins hands down

DS IMO.
the PSP has some nice features, but i dont want to look at a movie on such a tiny screen, the games are just looking like rehashes of old classic(medi-evil still pwns though),and UMD seems to be going the way of beetamax recorders.
ds has great innovation, with games like trauma centre utlizing the touch screen to produce a great gaming experiance.
and about ninty being for kids, that excuse is so old,its ridiculous.true it is aimed at the more kid friendly market, but im 20,and have loved nintys games, like monkeybal, harvest moon, and mario.
as yugi said in yugioh:a true gamer does not let age distract him from enjoying games.
also,to be honest,im not a fan of GTA,id rather play zelda:OOT,then play that.GTA does not appeal to me.
back on track,IMO DS>PSP.
but to each their own is a statement i believe in,so anyone who wants a PSP more,go for it,and enjoy it.

Why are there always soo many threads like this?!
Anyways I vote PSP. It has better graphics, games and can play movies [In UMD format only though]. Plus you can put on your digital photos and music. It's great value for such a great thing.
On the plus side for a DS it has Wi-Fi capabilities. But so does PSP. It has duel screens, lots of games. And has picto chat where you can draw ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING and send it to your friends on their DS's.
