its not about that, im a gamer, i play a LOT of videogames, hell, I passed Resident Evil 4 in one day, but i have a beatufil girlfriend, who i wholeheartedly love, and she's not a gamer, she's the kind of woman everyone wants. What i think that is really important is how you deal in your relationship, to know that when you're with her, YOU'RE WITH HER. If she comes to my home, maybe she'd like to play for a while, we play, but just for a while, Then we go out, or just fall asleep together watching a dumb movie. What matters is being yourself, and to have a life outside your room.

I went out with a guy for like, 4 years who was HUGE into his puter which is real prob for me when he spends ALL day on it. major pain in arse.
Also he HATED anime which pissed me off. after that long- whould rather go out with a guy who loved anime but didnt play round on computer all day.

Well, I have some friends who dont care for gamer guys, but some of my friends can look past that. I myself am a gamer guy, but not to the "stay up all night until I kick the boss's ass" extent. I do other things like working out at home and practicing my boxing moves, so I'm not a complete lazyass sitting around my room in my apartment. I know plenty of girls, all of which I get along pretty well with, some of which know I'm a gamer. My ex-girlfriend (she wasn't geeky, mind you) already knew that I was a gamer before we started going out, since we had some of the same friends, some of my friends of which were avid gamers. Glasses can be a do or die thing; it's dependant on many aspects.

Some guys/girls, find people who wear glasses attractive, some do not - regardless I fail to see how it relates to gamer guys and girls in the representation of; would someone, "go for" a gamer guy or girl?

As it happens I am a big console gamer. My passion of late has been Guitar Hero on PS2. Expert is the only difficulty that actually challenges me.

Now to tie all these things together, I do wear glasses, however most people who do not know me, assume without taking a moment to query, that I wear sunglasses 24/7 due to the lenses of my specs being a dark shade of blue.

As it happens my girlfriend should, but does not wear glasses, and the only thing we find annoying about my glasses is that I would rather look at her without them on, since my short sight is perfect, whereas my visual impairment is only at a distance.

To link the final strand together; she is a serious gamer, which I was actually unaware of when we got together. I knew she played a few games here and there, but I wasn't aware she's almost as hardcore a gamer as I am. ^_^

So it's all dependant, some guys might like gamer girls, some girls might like gamer guys.

But in all honesty it should never come down to that. It should just be a factor that one or the other has to deal with if one or the other is not a gamer, since relationships should be devout to the person, not their preferrence of entertainment. ~_~

An example is a friend of mine, he's a pure gamer, through and through, so much so that he could quite literally lay claim to being unbeatable on practically anything given 1-2 days on a game he is challenged at.

I think it depends on the amount of time spent gaming/ watching anime. If that is all a guy does and doesn't have any outside interests/social skills, then I'll definitely not be interested. That goes with pretty much everything, though. If a guy is only interested in one thing and can't even make conversation outside of that topic, then who would even want to talk to that person?

My boyfriend is pretty big into anime and games (he runs his own successful Lineage 2 server) and though he spends time doing those things, it doesn't completely run his life. If we are hanging out and I don't feel like playing games, then we won't. It is pretty simple.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I'm neither attracted nor not attracted to someone based solely on their status as a "gamer" or an "anime nerd." What matters is their personality and a if they are interested in other things.

Its not really a question whether or not a girl likes gamers or not. I don't think any girl would mind if her boyfriend is a gamer. My last girlfriend hated videogames and anime but didn't really care if I was into them because i didn't let them occupy all of my free time. I didn't mind that she wasn't to those things because not everybody is but as long as you can balance out your time between your hobbies and her then it should never be a problem... But as soon as you start choosing playing videogames over hanging out with her THEN... she will probably change her mind about dating a gamer. Gamer girls like gamer guys, the way that people usually tend to like other people with same hobbies. To me, my boyfriend being a gamer is definitely a good thing, but...

If the girl isn't a gamer herself, I suppose she wouldn't want her man to be a hc-gamer, but same goes for almost any other hobby, too much is too much if both don't enjoy it. I don't think being or not being a gamer has been a problem, relationship-wise, to any of my male friends. Watching anime is much the same.

But be your hobby gaming or anime or whatever, if you happen to live in an area where other people interested in same things are hard to find, it could lessen your changes of getting into a relationship, yeah.

Edit: Wearing a batman suit in bed IS ridiculous. However, I could allow my companion a bit of ridiculousness if he were otherwise a great guy. Also, depends on how cool that suit would look. ^^

Well I personally think of it like this, there is always the possibilty that you'll end up marrying your GF/BF so, that means you'll spend your entire life with them. I'd personally find it annoying If I'm playing an online match for a few hours (2-4) And later my Wife tries to divorce me for it. Hell I'm marrying someone with common interests, screw pretending I Don't like what I like to make her happy, that's why you start exploring early, look for someone who is Beautiful (Come on people you're not going to go out with an ugly mo fo are you?) and likes what you like.

Plus majority of girls these days are shallow "Profilers" as someone said (This is coming from where I live may not be the same where you guys are) who overuse the word "like". That's why I've decided to start dating when I'm in my Junior/Senior years in High School since I favor maturity in a partner.

@Slagbag: I am at least considerate of who is present...i wont play for long, if i have someone waiting on me and i know that games aren't their thing. most games i play require that i get to a save spot, so the first chance i get at saving, i cut it off.

its not necessarily that they're interested in it....they know i like it, so they make an effort to share in my interest....just like i do theirs.
but i wont force it upon them, and they dont force theirs upon me...we engage in each others activities to show that we care about each other and respect the differences and what makes us each happy.

i really dont care about who is going to be america's next top model....but i'll sit and watch and ask questions because i know she likes it, and it makes her happy...really its all about wanting to spend time with the other person if they make you happy.

Ah, and i think it's unfair to ask questions like that >_>; I for one, can be classified as a jock, gamer, anime freak, nerd, or book worm -_-; i kinda go through cycles~ i think every guy has a few other "generic" categories they fall into besides "gamer". Just my opinion though.

I don't have a problem with gamer/anime guys. I've dated both (guys who did both and what not). I will admit that I do prefer gamer/anime guys as it does give me something in common with them but it's not required to have.

Really you shouldn't care about the other persons personal hobbies, unless it's murder or something. Do stuff you both like together, do stuff you like to do away from him/her, but before hand ask her if she is interested. I brought my PSP to school one day and was playing the DDR Simulator PSP Revolution, then this shallow looking girl asks what I'm playing, turns out her hobby is gaming also! And she is a nice person, and not shallow in the very least. But then there are the haters, basically the table composed of 5 Juniors/Seniors complaining non-stop about how Halo 3 is tearing apart their relationships. I kind of agree with them though, they said they play for 8-10 hours a day, when in the weekends. That's an obsession and you should let go before you get to far in the relationship to the point that it'll kill the other person to say you want to stop dating.

I'm still in my daily habits xD, DDR, Beatmania, DJmax, and now Guitar Hero 3, rock on!

We gamers/anime guys aren't really classified for that activity, because for the vast majority of us, gaming is 2-3 hours daily (on average). And that's done when nothing more interesting is happening in our lives. A lot of guy's, practically all you'd meet, play games, yet girls never know, since we keep it down low. It depends, I mean the "fat/ugly/unfit/nerdy" profile is outdated, There's now a far more vast gaming community, and many have no trouble socially, (Girlfriends, mid-social status). I'm a guy, I spend 1-2 hours on games daily, I have a life, job, girl, and never think of games, unless the controller is in plain sight. I don't think girls have problems with gamer/anime guys, but there are those who talk about it constantly, that never get a second-look. Not that they notice anyway. If there's guys who're actually aware of being gamers and the fact girls may not talk to them, then they're normal. If we admit to it, and know about it, we probably don't openly discuss it, probably have 'lives' outside gaming, and are pretty chill. If it's anything, life is making me obsess and gaming's taken a back-seat, damn exams...
