If I go into the movie thinking "hey this is going to be great" then my dreams could be crushed when/if it sucks. But if I go into the movie thinking its going to suck then my expectations for the film will be significantly lower and I might return pleasantly surprised.
I had a ritual burning of all my Star Wars collection after seeing episode 1. It took me about 7 months to get over that.

I have reserved tickets for the 19th of May, hope it will be as great as the other episodes. (I have no doubt, after all it's the last.)

The first one was good, but the second one really didn't do too much for me. Let's hope that this one will the best out of them all ;).

Yeah the story for the new movie should be awesome! so long as they don’t start talking bollocks about midiclorians again.

I was gonna go at the premiere, at 00:01, on the 19th, but i have school on that day, and it's an exam, so i can't go.... i'll have to go see it during the week-end.

I remember that when the first one came out, a lot of people missed school for it (at the time, I was in 5th grade or something...I think).

since i'm in hk now, it isn't so big a thing *shakes head*... i remember when phantom came out, i was still in canberra, australia, i still could remember clearly... me and my friend pre-ordered the tix for the premiere... and we arrived at the cinema, after early dinner (about 8.30pm), we were about no. 16-20 in the line... everyone was in a high mood i.e. we wack each other with lightsabers, read movie mags, play cards etc til midnite...
now (in hk), i can't even find a cinema that are pre-saling the tix yet, so i don't know whether i could go to the premiere for this...

Movie looks very good. I know someone with exclusive tickets for the opening of the show in London... I'm so envious.

meh...the new ones suck. the original was cool - and the second one was ok. the ewoks in the third one were annoying as hell and then these new movies are poorly acted. Lucas has gotten laaaaaazy. (as in he relys on special effects and not quality scripts and actors)
but, of course, i'll go see it because i am a lemming.

I was expecting it to be at least as good as the originals...not necessarly better. But helz....that kid that played Anakin - they could have put in a sock puppet and it would have been a better actor.

Did you ritually burn Star Wars collection as well. After many years of suffering an epiphany struck me and I discovered that I actually hate the ewoks more than jar jar. This was a major break through.

Nope I didn't burn anything, because I still enjoy watching the old school stuff...plus since it is a "collectors item," I'm just hopping that all this stuff that I saved will be worth something in the next 50 years or so...^-^"
Oh and that lego clip is just freaky...>_>"

OK i will level with you I have seen the MOVIE!!
It is not great having said that though it is better than 1 & 2 but not as good as 4,5,6. Why? Because of the shock factor basically and I already knew what was going to happen...due to basic deductive ability...and the fact that i read the leaked script on the web!
To be Honest save your money and wait for BATMAN, as that is going to rule!!!! Plus BATMAN could beat up anyone who wields a lightsaber!

Hmm... most of the theatres near me don't sell out on the premiere. I think it was ep. II, but I showed up at the theatre at like 11:35pm and wound up buying like the 3rd ticket. But the theatre eventually got packed, but it was wasn't full either.... So, I'm not exactly worried about finding a ticket this time around.

i enjoyed it too. :) but i think there wasn't much depth in anakin's transition to darth vader. Hayden wasn't a very good anakin this time. he seemed to portray anakin as a petulant child, not a jedi at war with himself. and that scene when he turned to the dark side, i think it was too abrupt. there should be some few moments to focus more on the moral dilemma involved.
But i think it made a very good ep III in that it made you want to look forward to watching 4,5 and 6 all over again.

I was disappointed with this one, primarily because of;
1) the emperor's monolgue when anakin turns - what the hell were they thinking when they wrote that in the script/directed it to sound like that
2) Anakin vs Obi fight at end; Why does Obi wan leave him there like that? If he wanted him to live, why did he let him slip down slope until his clothes caught fire? And if he thought he was leaving him to die, what was he thinking? Surely the jedi way would be to put the poor sod out of his misery rather than letting him catch fire, and then presumably let him die from exhaustion/injuries? Poorly conceived..
I agree thief...I can only assume that they were happy with him, but Hayden gave a confused performance...it was a little one dimensional, and as you say didn't give the impression of a man filled with inner turmoil and conflict.

i thought star wars ep3 was pretty good except for the acting
weirdest moment in the movie i found was when darth vader near the end goes "Nooooooooooo" or something like that... didnt expect that from darth vader

I thought that Ep 3 was better than 2. But I still like 4,5,6 more. The scene where Palp say "Noooo No" sounds like "Meow Meow" i laughed when that happened.

it was alright, i laughed through the whole movie. funny sound effects, like when obi-wan is riding thelizard and it makes noises *laughs*

yeah, after watching it the second time, i agree with you guys that i'm slightly not happy with the 'ease' that anakin got convinced by palpatine, he's too gulible for a seemingly smart guy... and also the 'ease' of killing the rest of the jedi by those clones carrying out the directive 66, too easy and too quick...

Saw it on the 19th, seen it three times now. I liked it alot, The action scenes were great.
Aw man, guys. You don't get RotS enough credit! I thought it totally ROCKED!!
Oh, except:
1. Natalie Portman really stunk. She's a fantastic actress, but she stinks in Star Wars. "Anakin, you're breaking my heart," is in fact, the funniest line in the whole film. Go Nat.
2. At the end of the Anakin x Obi-Wan scene, I was so let down! If they show my facial expressions through theatre "night-vision", then you can see me silently screaming "THAT'S IT?!" in disgust. Seriously. Makes me sad inside. :3
3. Anakin/Darth Vader's "NOOOO!" was hilarious. And sure, Anakin's jumped on the Sith bandwagon as soon as he could, but really, a "Jedi's got to do what a Jedi's got to do".
So, anyway. I hated the Phantom Menace. That sucked. The second one was "cute".. I can't help loving Hayden <3 and the Revenge of the Sith rocked. My favorite is Return of the Jedi, hands down.
But, yeah, Phantom Meance sucks more than A New Hope. =(
Go Star Wars *waves flag*

I didn't like this one. The only highlights for me were the fight scenes. Everything else was average or below. I also didn't get how the jedis got beat by the storm troopers when they take on like 30 robots at the same time single handedly and don't even get a scratch. Plus they killed off the coolest jedi ever (Mace Windu) in the lamest way possible. You deserved better Mace... You deserved better.
