Tone down the ocean ripple layer everywhere, and I'd say try a simple font.

How about I just a ripple rather than an ocean ripple? Would that work better?

EDIT: With a ripple, some graphic pen and a lot of soft erasing.....oh and a text change....

IMO, you'll be advanced if you keep up your progress. Hinata will be a cutting pro if she sticks with .Faith. for a little while and consequently she'll easily give you lots of good renders, just like CHC in [one].

And I am this *measures 1 cm* close to want to make a new tag again. So many talented GFX artists are rising in skills it makes me want to do the same.

Yeah your current tags. The style kinda reminds me of Maxi's tags not so long ago. When he was on a FSN craze himself. Your level of contrast, negative space, effects, composition are all great. Your even starting to get lighting down well. My only slight dissapointment is Kootje a bit. About half a month ago, I thought he would end up being #1 on this team, but then he kinda stalled. When he started a few 3d renders, things started getting overcontrasted =x *sigh* I hope he gets back into his groove soon.

Make about another 10 challenging tags for yourself, pick the best ones and get yourself reclassed. There's some mighty good inspiration now in cb.

Its good to have pro gfxrs like seto in our graphics team. I must say that he really is good in commenting and critisizing. He really deserves his position as a class crew. Anyway, Hinata my advice is that you add your own style when you create your works, be unique but in the same time be sure that your viewers would be amazed with your work. Keep in mind the principles of deisgn, balance, rythm, gradiation, etc. etc. no matter how i try i still dont get them (pinciples).


@koot: the outline to the left is too obvious try blending it to create more depth. try fixing your lighting and make it compatible with the lighting of your stock. You can also probably re-edit your text. But good job on the effects, I really like it. i'll rate it a EXPERIENCED :)

Much better may I suggest a stronger light/dark difference? Throw a levels and curves on it, try and get the lights lighter and the darks darker, there is hardly and difference.

Photofilter is teh same as a color layer set to 25% opacity at a sepcific layer mode (not sure which one). Biggest disadvantage with 7 is that it doesn't have scatter smudge. BEsides that evreything can be manipulated. Like a levels layer, you can just make a black or white layer and lower the opacity... the effect. Levels = Curves = X options... so many ways to get the same thing.

@kichi's tag: you overdid the filters. Lower the opacity of the filter layers so it doesn't look too filter whored.

@Rev: I think both your sigs are too busy with all the small-font text. I prefer your current purple sig, since it has larger, but less, text to make it seem not so busy.

...bah this damn dry cough...

@trev: Left side grungy effects are good, but the right side is flat as a tack. I don't like the scanline circles. Try a solid colour instead for those circles.

Not your best work by a landslide. But overall, the tag feels too monotone and it lacks depth. The effects don't flow very well (the effects are in the shape of a circle). This sig is just 'meh' to me.

@kichi I like the effect and overall style your going for but i just cant see any real depth in the BG, and the stock could just do with a touch of blending... to be honest you've done better...a LOT better sigs then this one. Kinda reminds me of your first sigs really.....
