Any word about any of these (ie...will shikai+bankai have a level of customizability, will jobs exist IE: division memberships)?
Yep - shikai and bankai currently have about fifty different possible abilities (with more being currently added) that you can mix and match to create millions of possible shikais. You can also add your own descriptions to your shikais to make them completely original.
Yep - each division has a specific job. When you join a division, as well as doing main story quests and side quests, you also do quests for your division to earn you gold and exp. e.g. if you join the 2nd division you do missions that involve stealth, such as assasination missions.

If you join 3rd Division, you are in charge of internal security and intelligence. Think of 3rd Division as MI5, and 2nd Division as MI6.

yea that made me think of a new question what can hollows and renegades do to equal the shinigami divisons?

Well, I think the hollow and Renegade hordes are somewhat less organised than the Shinigami, not organised enough to have jobs perhaps. This isn't a bad thing though :p I'm still going to play as a hollow :)

Where can I find info on shikai/bankai/jobs?
I seem to be daft =/

They are not available for player viewing yet. They need to be updated and you have to be lv. 5 to gain Shikai. Pleanty of time 'till then.

I just really hope that the Shikai rules wont be all Elemental, cause even with millions of possibilities, its still a rock paper siccors game.
They definitely won't all be elemental - only six or seven are elemental abilities, and even so, I doubt we will actually be having elemental weaknesses - it would be too complicated with shikais/bankais being released/not being released and having to introduce different levels of weakness for shikai/bankai etc.

That will be sweet, then since the shinigami gain shikai and bankai, what do the hollows gain AS their power?
We presume a very similar system for hollows - it definitely won't be any more or less powerful than the shinigami shikai/bankai system. We realise that this isn't entirely true to the anime, but the races really do have to be balanced.

OH shit.
XD
And I didn't see this anywhere, but what's the verdict on creating a shikai? Can you actually "design" your own and then submit it to see if it's too powerful or not? Or is that too complicated?
Er...I saw the part about "you can add your own descriptions to make it original". But some part of me wants to make something really straight-up different.

What about elemental affinity? For example, I'm planning on having my bankai form (if not shikai) use fire energy to surround my blades while attacking. Or another example would be somebody affiliated with wind to have greater shunpo and jumping abilities.

@ Shinmori. If you can't create something by combining the rules then PM a GM to see if it is acceptable etc.
@ Reon. That has already been created. Though it has a different 'general' name. :-)
@ Evryone: Please stop posting questions about Shikai and Bankai rules. Wait for the rules to be released then you can ask/create anything you want. I can guarantee that the system is VERY flexible.
Thanks,

We are allowed to name our own zanpakuto, release phrase and the name of bankai right??
Sure - you can write whatever descriptions and names you like for anything =D.

You might want to wait for them to release information about the shikai/bankai, or you might make a Zanpaktou whose abilities don't really line up with the parameters of the game

Question: we all got the reply that holds our info about Gold and Exp. But it also has a list of equipment. That lists a nameless zanpaktou. Are we not going to be aloud to name our own zanpaktou. I can understand not having bankai at level 1 and I like all the tech's that we have and the idea of combining them to get our speacil attacks. But it seems to me that finding the name of your zanpaktou for most shinigami was fairly easy.

When the academy starts no one truly has a Zanpakuto yet, not their personal one atleast, they start out with a basic nameless one, forget what its called. But after so many levels that one will be replaced with your true personal Zanpakuto, then yuo will gain shikai bankai etc etc as yuo level. Least thats what the system was talked about being way back when.

I believe I remember the positions of starting Shingami characters being changed since that stage of development, though. I believe we start as unseated members of the Gotei 13. I'm still not sure if we recieve - or, more appropriately to me, manifest - our personal zanpakuto at 1st level, or if we are given an asauchi to start.

Guys... We probably just dont know the names yet. These arent pathetic "nameless blades". They're Zanpakuto that havent yet been contacted. Their nameless because we havent asked em yet!

exactly. you get asauchi but don't get to name them or request powers for them until you reach level 5 or so (it doesn't look like they changed the level requirement, but rising phoenix might still be working on it so i'm not 100% sure). you'll get to make bankai power requests around level 15. most likely when players start getting towards that level someone will release the shikai/bankai rules. i don't think the rules are finalized yet.

I have a question about the unnamed zanpakutō we recieve (or, as I've said I believe is more accurate, manifest) when we start: Will they be in their true sealed form, or will they be in the form of a simple katana?
For example, in it's sealed form, Gin's zanpakutō, Shinsō, is a wakizashi, and the sealed form of Shunsui's Katen Kyōkotsu is either a pair of katana or a daishō pair (i.e., a katana-wakizashi pair).
The reason I want to know, is because I wished the sealed form of Kai's zanpakutō to be a pair of kodachi, which he typically wields in a reverse grip, held almost parallel to his forearms.
Of course, I'm willing to use just one if a pair is not workable, since, in the anime, it is stated that Shunsui & Ukitake are the only shinigami in all Soul Society history to possess dual-bladed zanpakutō.

@Riggermantis: As long as you don't ask for bonuses/penalties to attack rolls/actions/damage etc( You can ,of course, say that you alternate attacks between the 2, or you could say that you use both at the same time but remember that you won't get any bonuses penalties for doing so. The effect is purely a visual one). I don't think that there will be a prob. (how your weapon looks has no effect on how much damage/number of attacks it does in this rpg).
2-weapon fighting rules have yet to be created and I dout that they will be created any time soon.
Cheers!
