...Im posting this from my school as a rather large turn of events have come up. My parents are currently getting a divorce, so I have no internet from my home, as neither one of them wishes to pay the bill. However, I am moving soon (within the next few days) and will have full time internet again. However, I am planning on putting the results ona disk and transporting them to school. I apoligize, as I have had the result, but have put off posting them.

Expect the results WITHIN THE NEXT 2-3 DAYS. This is the final deadline for me to get em up. I won't let you guys down again.

One idea has been using shape poetry:
Shape Poetry
-Shape Poetry is also associated with Concrete Poetry-
Shape is one of the main things that separate prose and poetry. Poetry can take on many formats,
but one of the most inventive forms is for the poem to take on the shape of its subject. Therefore,
if the subject of your poem were of a flower, then the poem would be shaped like a flower. If it
were of a fish, then the poem would take on the shape of a fish. ><<<*>
Shape and Concrete Poetry go hand-in-hand; however, Concrete or Visual Poetry don’t have to
take on the particular shape of the poem’s subject, but rather the wording in the poem can enhance
the effect of the words such as in this line:

Designing your own shape poem can be simple and fun, but try not to pick anything that would be
too difficult. We suggest mapping out or drawing your shape first, and then importing the text of
your poem into your shape.


Go ahead and post ideas you have on the type of poetry style as well as any themes.

We (maxi and I) will just find another judge for Contest #4 if MWS still stays inactive. Don't worry, I'm sure he'll post the results for #3 as soon as he can.

Neither would I, but if the judge hands out a list of books, there's probably gonna be one that you've already read.

Having the poem based on a specific book sounds like a good idea, although I don't know the genres you guys read. If you want go ahead and list some books you would like to use and/or specific genres. The contest could concentrate on a specific genre of books i.e. Sci-Fi/Fantasy, non-fiction, etc. (I'm a fan of fantasy personally :p) and each person can give a mini summary of the book. I'd ask for a summary just to make sure you'd be sticking to the book.
