I almost forgot Mother's Day, but not quite. I bought a large box of the strawberry Pocky, a small "Hybrid Lily" in a pot (it looks like a smaller Tiger Lily), and I'm going to use my "get something for $10 or less free at JCPenny" coupon too. It's not exactly going to be the most expesive Mother's Day, but I can tell that she is going to love it. What have you all done?

my mom just likes it when we help out around the house, you know, let her relax, and we do stuff for her, she likes that a whole lot better than gifts.

My mom's the same, but I like going all out. She really does a lot for us, and I want her to know that I care a lot ;).

Mother’s day was way back in March over here. I presume you celebrate mothers day on the 4th Sunday in lent?

Anyway I took the family out for a meal, she didn’t enjoy it. She just sat there complaining that eating is a waste of time... she’s a very bitter woman, don’t think I’ll bother next year.

May seems awfully late for mothers day!?! Do you still connect mothers day to the Christian calendar?

Mother's Day has nothing to do with Christians...or at least that is what I've thought all my life. Ah, my whole life has been a lie! (No, but seriously...it is just a day to honor your mom ;).)

Mother’s day has nothing to do with Christianity as such, no. However, it is always celebrated on the 4th Sunday of lent... that was my point/question/thing... at least it is in this country... I think anyway? I will go check.

Ah, I am going to kill the sprinkler people! (not really) Anyway, my mom was going to bring me to the mall so that I could "buy a cd", and I was going to get her something...right? Well, these people came to work on this leak in my backyard, and now we can't go until they do. Leave sprinkler men! Leave!

*sigh* i gotta talk my dad into taking me to go get something for mother's day...i already have it all planned out...get her a giftcard to her favorite store, then get her a nice candle from yankee candle cause we have a praying room and she meditates in there and lights candles badda bing badda boom.

I am giving my mom Flowers and Jewelry for Mother's Day. I already help her so i can't just do that. I spent around $100 or so dollars around her but she deserves it.

What cumulatively over the last 18 years... that’s fairly cheep of you.. Are you one of those people who go "I give you the gift of friendship, followed by a hug" and your friends just sat there thinking where’s my Love Hina box set you cheap bastard!

I always design a simple e-card for my mom and then buy her gifts to bring back home~ (since im abroad rite now but have a break soon.)

my sister, who's also abroad, usually sends presents and makes sure to call~ I say it's the thought that counts ^_^

Correction, 17 years. Yes I admit it is rather cheap. And yes when in trouble of having anything to give for a present during a special occasion I always use the power of friendship to bail me out!

Every 11 years my birthday falls on Mother's day. This is one of those years. I get to share my special day with my Mum's special day. This year neither of us are getting each other anything becuase we're going to Vegas this summer in celebration of both since I'm finally 21 and can go without having to get run out of the casinos.

Unholygodn mused today at bleachportal, about whether or not mothers watch Bleach...

*grin*...well, this one does...and a Bleach DVD would actually be quite welcome! Actually, what i'm getting is music (including the Chrono Cross OST)and an invite from husband to go on a date to see Hitchhiker's Guide...

I'm 49, have 5 kids from 18 to 5, have watched anime for 26 years, and even do text-based roleplay...see you folks around Club Bleach!

If I were to do something it would only make her worry. It would mean that something is wrong and I needed something. We're not the typical family. All that mushy stuff went right out the window.

oh well thats a pity. last week we went to the zoo (her for work, me for re-training) and she saw a necklace in the main gift show that she thought was cool, so i bought it for her.

But anyways, i got my mom a mug with a cute lil teddy inside it.i was gonna get her a handbag but she has too many of 'em. but anyways, the whole day on sunday, i never did said anything to do with mothers' day to her... NOT A WORD, NOT EVEN A GREETING! she was complaining over the dinner table over me spending tons for my friends gifts and not even bother coming out a single cent for her! not even a hug or anything...

then until 'round midnite, i gave her the present and she was like: this is not for me! it's for your friend rite? don't lie... then i was persuading her to open it...
then finally, she starts unwrapping it, she was like OMG!!!!! ok.. since you bought me a present, i will forgive your inconciderate behaviour this time.. now run along..

i was like... if you like it say thank you....

You sir are a crazy b@stard. >_<" I don't ever spend over 100 dollars on a gift.

I think Moms like it when they are pampered and feel appreciated. That's the best gift!!!

Next year get her a gift certificate to a spa or something...where she can relax. While you bust your @ss and clean up the house. And cook a meal or order out whatever. >_<" Yeah that's my idea of what a good Mother's day should be like.
