Question about: Kaname T?sen

Im confused...really really really confused...
Is he black or not? I mean its obvious what the man looks like but wikipedia tells me its not 100 % clear if he is black or not.
T?sen has dark skin and (from the anime) dark purple hair. Because of his skin tone and his hair is twisted in very small dreadlocks or single braids, many assume he is of African descent, although there is no official information confirming this.
Im thinking he might just have the same thing as Uncle Ruckus ( the boondocks)

Yeah Tousen is definately black. So is Don Kanoji. Although I do think it is kind of strange that those are the only two black people. You would think there would be more. Or at least there should be.

I'm brazilian and I'm not taking anything personal but just a little FYI: Brazil has people from snow white to pitch black so whatever stereotypes you're thinking of is wrong. ;)

Kanonji, I always thought, was black. He has the same sort of hair as Tosen. But Yoruichi is generally taken to be Indian, or one of the nearby countries. Some people even think she may be Brazilian, it seems...

My opinion? when you become a Shinigami you adapt a Japanese name. It's only logical, as a JAPANESE GOD OF DEATH would not be named Frank, etc etc

EDIT: Just like Yoruichi. I'd say she's Indian or Arabic. Dark skin, and the way she fights is like assassins from that region. Just give her a pair of Jamadhar or something and bammo.

Race and nationality aren't linked, though they can often coincide. Ever since humans started roaming about, race has had less and less to do with where you live.

Black, you don't need to have african origin to be black, he is completely black, if it was a tan and with the timespan moving so slowly with Soul Society, it would have gone off a long time ago...
