Does America have a similar type of comedy? I just want to know what’s available over the pond because the only stuff we get off you guys is, group of people in a house, flat etc, input a week, basic storylines with little in the way of creative scripting to appeal to everybody in the world, but only just enough no to switch it off.... with hilarious consequences.

Monty Python is hilarious. I've only seen Holy Grail and the Meaning of Life, though.

That's the Flying Circus isn't it? I haven't heard anything about it, it's not very big here in the states. Actually Monty Python is sorta only known in the computer geek realm of things... at least to my understanding of it.... that's how I found out about it.

yep, that's it. i guess it's sort of underground or cultish in a way. i am sure you could probably rent some of it from a video store or something.

Nah, not really; Monty Python tends to be regarded as a sort of national treasure over here. BTW, those of you who haven't seen it, you need to watch Life of Brian; far and away the best of the films they did.

I love Monty Python! The spam skit is one of my faves...along with the ministry of silly walks.

Haven't seen life of Brian in ages...but recently rewatched holy grail. *snicker* build us...a shrubbery!

hmmm thats very intresting...

you need to watch the shows to get that.. they go:
"and now for something completely different..."

and then they follow it up with whatever the next skit is. one of em is...
"and now for something completely different... a man with three buttocks."

they dont always say it for the next skit tho... and then they change it up..
"and now for something completely the same..."
"and now, for something for which i have no idea whats going on..."
