From the anim statements i understood that the clothes that deathgods wear
are used by normal people when going to a funeral.I wana know if this is confirmed.

Not exactly sure what the funeral tradition is like in Japan. But in China the color white is associated with Death. I am guessing that it's pretty much the same in Japan as well. Kubo probably used black on the Shinigami Kimono to associate with the western culture. In US, Black is associated with Death.
That is why Rukia dressed in White Kimono when she was death sentenced in soul society.
Feel free to correct me on this.

I don't remember anyone saying anything like that in the anime. Although it doesn't really sound to me like that would be the case. Shinigami are the warriors of SS. I'm sure shinigami robes are only for shinigami. While people might wear something similar, I highly doubt they are the same thing.

Anyway, while black might be the colour of death in the west, shinigami are more like angels than anything, and angels traditionally wear white.

in vietnam, funeral and death is also associated with white. the white is to purify the soul and shoo it away to the afterlife. when ppl dont get a proper funeral, thats when ghosts appear. OooOooOo

Well, from what I see, they wear like the same thing except it's all white. Then they also tie a white cloth around their head.

you would find a very interesting answer to that question...
i dont know... but here in Thailand, its accepatble to wear both white or balck...
but in Naruto, wen the Sandaime Hokage died, everyone wore black... so... i suppose it is black...
also take note of the inside layer of kimono is white, undecorated.. and how the Captain's cloak is only black and white... maybe this is to show the clear divide between real world, ss and hollow world..
another interesting thng is, wen Aizen left SS, the background was purple... a cross between white and black?

I have no idea about Japanese funeral clothing. Though, in Nyonya tradition, it's normally black, though on several occasions it can be white. Red is normally the colour of marriage for Chinese, isn't it?

you are indeed right...
for Chinese, red is the colour of luck, hence use in major festivities such as marriage or New Year...
