Uh, its TV, original source of where the fansubbers are getting the video... they have to compress the quality so you dont need to d/l gigs worth of video.

Fansubs/Raw Providers have a compressed quality of video and is modified to put in subtitles, therefor lowering the quality.

and they usually do a heavy cleaning before having it up on TV otherwise there'd be mass complaints about production quality

Recording a single tv episode to dvd quality mpeg 2 on a dvd-r takes up about 700mb to 900mb of space depending on your recorder. (and consitering its set on standard quality)

Your still going to even get at least a 5% quality loss using that method (even greater if you dont have digital hook ups).

So they compress it to avi, which uses far less space and still manages to keep the quality reasonable.

I find some Bleach episodes on youtube extremely crappy, but some are actually pretty clear and nice.

well its just the matter of videos uploaded little to big. and mine of coz has its quality lowered down thru conversion. but for me im ok with my videos uploaded =) i do upload anime preview episodes/songs of chinese/english songs/game videos

well some have good qualities.anyway im uploading fast enuff with the little mb around 1.5-3.0mb to make a fast look over the vids. tats all

As everyone already stated, its due to the fact inorder to be reasonable the quality on fansubs and raws are lowered to that of TV broadcast.

Um... no??? Graphics card are mainly used to play video games or doing editing and stuff. To watch regular videos the standard integrated graphics card is already good enough.

A graphic card doesn't improve a low quality video to high quality. It reminds the same.

Somewhat Incorrect, you do need a decent video card to have all the good pixels/colors :p. The main reason for a powerful videocard is for videos at HDTV quality, 1080p especially. Man playing a 1080p video brought my cpu to it knees, only playing around 10 FPS.

And video technologies, such as PureVideo, do make the image look better using a bunch of effects (spacial temporal de-interlacing, inverse telecine, etc), as well as the hardware acceleration DragonBlade mentioned. :P

First of all. Youtube compresses the videos making it bad in quality. Secondly you probally download RMVB format so you think it better.
