I thini it is fake. Have you seen it? They smash each other with chair and after 2 years they can still fight. Who the hell can do that. Also my friend saw a part where tehy where completely stupped because they didn't do as they planed and they just stood there before one of them punched the other guy.

LOL, i heard its already been proven that they're all actors and when they fall etc, they whisper into each others ears what their next move is gonna be if they're improvising. Cos the fact they smash each others noses to dust and yet still don't bleed...
Yeah it was proven to be fake awhile ago... well not sure if they changed it.. after knowing it i stopped watching wrestling, they plan it before they actually fight. All the damage/ bleeding etc, etc .. are real though.

I KNOW it's fake... there's a documentary that's all about how pro wrestling is fake- where they get they're ideas and persona's as well as what happens when injuries occur...
A search on torrentspy.com in the documentary section should have it.
Besides, an easier way to tell that's it's fake... instead of downloading the whole documentary from 2 seeds- is just watch it closely. Exactly how do clear skinned people obtain injuries from punches and kicks without bruises? Why does the unsuspecting victim hop when he's picked up? Why do people wait to be punched/kicked/thrown as if it were a coreographed fight scene from a b-movie? AND don't you think if it was real it would resemble mixed martial arts such as UFC and NHB fights?

OMG, ridiculous thread... Of course its fake... if theres a question in your brain whether or not its fake you need to take a hard look at reality and fantasy...
A Mod should close this...

Erm, well the fights are fake as in the winner is decided beforehand. Some important events within the fights may have been choreographed. But in all actuallity, they are actors who act out a fight. To do so, they actually fight. In some moves, they really get hurt. No matter how strongly you believe they are fake (which they are) they are not invincible and it's not uncommon that every fight someone gets a major beating and it hurts them the next day.
Go look up McFoley aka Man Kind. The person who took the most beatings ever. Talling from 15 feet into a table DOES hurt. And not only that he used to wrestle in Japan I think where you fight with barbed wires as the ropes and you can use any weapons to your disposal.
Let's just say, all that blood would have better been donated, but he lost it fighting.

Why is this a debate? It's already been proven that's fake and rigged. Infact, alot of pro wrestlers have said so. Read the Brett Heart biography, it'll talk about how he's slated to lose or win in some places, and the reason why there was such a big stink about him leaving the WWF is that Vince McMahon essentially went back on his word as Brett wasn't supposed to lose the title until the next night on WWF RAW since he was infront of his home audience in Canada that night. Regardless of those circumstances, that should tell you that it's rigged.
You'll occasionally run about "real hardcore pro wrestling" but generally that's just back yard stuff that gets video taped, and also generally speaking the "Wrestlers" are idiots who hurt themselves.
That ofcourse doesn't mean that the stuff doesn't require alot of training or athleticism though or that it isn't dangerous. Alot of people get hurt during those matches and it's even riskier in some places like Japan where they have exciting matches such as the "piranhas tank of death" match or the "dynamite in a cage" match. So that aspect of wrestling is DEFINETLY real.

Actually, its long been known that its fake.. everything is scripted, they plan who wins, and what stories they portray and stuff, and they practice the moves, choreograph the actions and make sure they can land safely and stuff... with all the violent stuff they've been doing, one of them should have had spinal cord injury, or broken ribcage, broken neck, fractures, head trauma, CVA.. but of course, as you've noticed, they're as healthy as we are..
the actors/wrestlers however, do at some point, manifest true pain..and yeah, true blood at times...
another thing you would notice is that, pro wrestling couldnt be found in the SPORTS section of the newspaper, rather it is found in the Entertainment section.. so that would pretty much say much :D

It's fake in the way that it's completely scripted. A lot of the moves in there are real though like a vertical suplex. You can't exactly fake a suplex. You can make it land so that it doesn't hurt your oppenent since that's what the art of pro wrestling is about. I have to admit sometimes the punches are so feeble it makes me laugh though. It's like a poofter punch.

It's fake. It has to be. Though I can imagine that it still hurts. But yeah, they're all acting. I mean, why else would they go through all that drama crap anyway? Unlike something like UFC or boxing where all you see is the people fight...

And pro wrestling wouldn't be considered as such? Believe it or not, grappling is an important element in fighting and it's taught to pretty much anyone who wants to be a well rounded and competent fighter.

Er.. wrestling in smack down and shit like that is totally fake. It shouldn't even be called wrestling.
Real wrestling is totally different.

I guess back in the day, it was real, but I guess now wrestling is made for profit.
To me now, wrestling is just another excuse for men to feel each other. J/K, lol.

It's not belief or disbelief in it's real, you watch it because it's entertainment. Also - just because it's fake doesn't mean that no athleticism is involved. Wrestlers work real hard to put on a good show.

09-24-2006, 10:24 AM
Yeah, it's true. These guys do work hard and it's good entertainment if you like that sort of thing (personally, I don't but that doesn't matter.)
I can't believe someone actually asked "is it real?" though. I mean, even when I was little and people of my age liked it, it was still known to be fake. It's actually a sort of a legend that Americans frequently still believe it. Outside of the US, if you said "is WWF etc real?" then people would just think you were making an ironic joke, or that you were a total idiot. It would be treated exactly the same as if you said "Do they speak French in France?"
There's actually an English comedian and documentary maker called Louis Theroux who basically acts like this stereotypical English gent and goes around interviewing people in this way, and all the time they think he's some quirky, naive and gullible guy, but really he's just mocking them and making a fool of them. Well, in one of his programmes he went to one of the wrestling studios and pretended to think it was real. It was basically centred around the way that many Americans still think it's real, or at least aren't sure.
All the staff there were all very nice to him and obviously let him think that it was indeed real, all the while sort of thinking he was very simple as they patronised him and mocked him.
Then, he went back to them after a while and said "Sorry to, er, sorry to bother you chaps.. But I've heard tales that this wrestling lark isn't...well, isn't 100% real!" with the joke being, as always with Louis Theroux's naive act, "poor Louis is so naive and innocent!"... The thing is it went further than he probably intended it, and the management actually kicked him off the grounds and told him to never come back... They must really want the Americans to still believe in it..

Pro wrestling is 100% fake there is no doupt about it.
Wolfman Walt
09-25-2006, 02:47 AM
Well I wouldn't say 100% fake, maybe like 90% fake. Alot of the techniques wrestlers use have real life application and could really hurt someone if done wrong and have done so many times in the past. If it was 100% fake - then incidents like Owen Hart dying, Steve Austins nigh crippling neck Injury which breifly left him paralyzed and is really the main cause of his retirement, and Darren Drozdov (Droz) becoming paralyzed wouldn't have happened if it was 100% fake.

People talk about wrestling being fake as if other forms of entertainment isn't. Movies are fake and so are TV series.
The training part and some of the bumps that the wrestlers take and the injuries that occur as a result are obviously real, but the majority such as blade jobs, punches & kicks and "storyline segments" are fake. The performance (acting) is real (as in acting is a real thing that you perform), but the product is not. It's just make-belief.

One thing that's obviousily real and something that I think makes wrestling harder then some sports is the crowd reactions. You can be the best wrestler in the world, however, if you can't be a charasmatic personality that the crowd wants to see, you're out of the job. Compare this to something like basketball where it doesn't matter how much people hate your guts. It's hard to be a good athlete, it's even harder to get people to like you because you're a good athlete.

Yes WWE, TNA, ect is all fake. McMahonn himself doesnt call it a sport, he calls it sports entertainment. I'm sure though that a lot of it is improv, like the basis of the match is coreographed with a little bit of improv...however its still all fake.
The blood is real, tho I assure you. So even though the matches are already decided, they still do get a lil battered up :P

Even if they train at the gym more than 4 hours per day and take so many anabolics that their arms are triple than a normal humans!!!!it is proven that they are REAL actors and whatever move they do is prearranged!!!!Noone could ever do the tricks that they are doing(like falling of a ladder 3 feet tall and yet to get up and start fighting again)
