Umm...Great Anime. Great Manga. Prefer the Anime though. I think most people do.

Actually I like the Manga more then the anime.

Probably because the movie/anime ending could have been better. And the manga is going into more detail about many things the anime didnt explain to well. Giving it a bit more back-story. However, the anime itself made more sence. Full Metal Alchemist is a must watch subbed or dubbed. Great anime, and a great manga.

I think its around episode 9... I seriously almost cried. I love/hate series like that. Extremely sad happenings, then extremely happy ones. Then funny ones, then serious ones.

I enjoyed watching the FMA anime series, though I have only read up to volume 11 of the manga, which is still ongoing. I've been wanting to check out the movie for a while now, but never actually got the chance to do so... Anyway, unlike most people here (I assume), I actually prefer the FMA anime over the manga...

hey, i make my friends dl anime for me too, unless it's single episodes.
I downloaded the FMA movie myself, though. Took me 3 days, but that's because torrents are gay. Direct downloads are really swift for me.

I got first class cuz i applied early.
And the applicatuon takes 2 minutes. And class 1 just finished so you might be able to join right before class 2 starts, minimizing the wait.

If you've read the FMA anime character profiles, then you'll know that they referred to Envy as a "She".

Re: Envy's Gender: Well, I'm pretty sure that Envy's male. See his true form. However, I suppose that the palm tree form could be female. Gender isn't really clear with a shapeshifter. :p

The anime ending was very open-ended IMO, it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. But I suppose it's better than having a happy ending where everything is resolved leaving no room for further speculation... Those types of endings are sadder IMO, the fact that everything's over and done with.

I don't think that open-ended endings (like the FMA anime one) are sad because they are like the end of one thing, but the beginning of another. Whereas happy endings feels more like the definite ending of all endings.

Having things open ended could end up in an upset like .//hack roots where the ending awnsered nuthing but to me fma ended with all the import things answered. I thought it was pretty happy ending for ed and al cause al is normal and there togther once again. THey cant use alchemy and that sucks but still everyone turned out okay. Cept for winry shes stupid

I also think the seriesending is great, but the movie-ending is really bad, IMO. The mood in the movie is completely different and therefore I think the movie is unnecessary in order to aquire the overall impression of FMA.
IMO the producers schould have just keep the perfekt series without movie.

depends on the series really. for anime like bleach and samurai champloo, i would prefer subs. Hellsing (except for Seras's dub) had some great dubs, imo FMA does too

Trust me when I say this-The manga is way better then the anime, and I'm definatly not saying that the anime was bad!
From episode 26 onward's, is all anime created. the manga still is going strong. Lust does not go all soft on the good guy's and side's with them. She get's her ass incinerated by Roy mustang! fuhrer king bradley isn't pride, but actually wrath, as izumi's child is not mentioned in the overall storyline as of yet. we still don't know who pride is, other then a face which is covered up by shadow's. Sloth is not Trisha elric, but actually a big guy kinda like a muscley taller version of envy. Dante does not even exsist in the manga, the humonculi's boss is called 'Father' And he look's insicably like hoenhiem, who's a seperate character.

I don't think so, cause Ed was holding a piece of metal on his automail-arm, I even believe a gun. The basics of alchemy are : understanding - decompose - construct, so if he understands how the gun works, he can transmutate one.

In the mnaga, he has no connection with hoenhiem whatsoever, as far as we know.

he's described as (in his preferd form) as being 'An effeminate figure' and 'young androgynous human'. This mean's that it's impossible to tell his gender, and since we can't tell whether or not his voice is male/female, it is basically a case of We don't know the answer.

Also, I've read all the manga up to chap 65(there's 67 released so far) and nothing in there point's to any one specific gender from envy, but most refer to him as a male for his look.

I've only seen the dubbed version and I must say, it was really good. This is one of the few anime that are actually worth watching dubbed.
