I think it's a great series because it's actually incorporated the seven deadly sins, which I don't think anyones really done sucessfully. Plus, Edward is rather adorable and he doesn't like milk like me. w00t. ^_^;

it's a great series but i don't think it deserves the title best anime series of all time...
in my opinion, there's too much talking and thinking compared to action. therefore, it is kinda boring.. if it's in manga and there's talking then it's ok but in an anime, nah.. not really.. it's sorta like death note... manga is nice but when it's turned into an anime, it ain't.

its a great anime, the plot is great, the characters fit. good amount of action. and i think when people say too much talking they love constant action, i like it when the plot is well thought out and its gets deep and you fall in love with the characters and get sad when one of there love ones die. and i think fma did that. like when um the little girl goes BOOM into scars hand yeah. well i was like omg. and like everything else. its not the best but its still a great anime and should be watched.

Hagane No Renkinjutsushi is a really great anime show. I mean, it might not be long seeing there is only 51 eps. but i think if it would have dragged on any longer the story would just keep on goin with no end. And the creators are makin a movie to finish it off which i think is totally awesome. FMA would have to be my favorite anime by far

Full Metal Alchemist was a pretty good anime...even though it was only 51 eps long...(some consider it 52 cause one of the eps was actually 2....uh..the one where they try to get a date for Armstrong's sister and the one where they go to that haunted shed or something...it's been awhile since I watched it...but anyways those 2 episodes were still only 30 minutes together.)

Still waiting for the movie. It's gonna be pretty sweet.

yeh, i suggest u download it... its really good (fullmetal alchemist is one of my favourite anime! =D)
its about 2 brothers who are quite talented at alchemy so with the death of their mother both brothers study the forbidden part of alchemy which is human transmutation to bring back their mother... but with alchemy, u must lose something in order to gain something of equal value... but the brothers fail to bring back their mother and the older brother loses his leg and the younger brother his body, ed, the older brother sacrifices his arm and transmutes his brother's soul into a suit of armour... years later ed, the older brother has now 1 metal arm and 1 metal leg and the younger brother is stuck inside a suit of armour... ed, the more talented of the two is also known everywhere as the "fullmetal alchemist" and is the youngest state alchemist, who are part of the military... both brothers now search for the philosopher's stone, an object that ignores the rules of alchemy, hoping it will bring themselves back to normal, the brothers soon find out that they are not the only ones searching for the philosopher's stone (51 eps and a movie coming out soon, so cool! =D)

i think that the ending for the movie is actually not much needed
destroying the gate, i personally think that what they meant was destroy the transmutation circle, since i don't think there is a way to destroy the gate. therefore, if someone were to study on the gate more they can get to "our world" again. and perharps, there was already someone who had already came to "our world" before and then if there was a 2nd series they show us Ed and Al goes back again and a whole new journey :)

Great series , 2nd favourite.

The relationship that many of the characters share is touching. Armstrong and Hughes really added alot to the series for secondary characters.

if they had extended the series, yes. But i think they didn't want to try to have to fill a third season, as it would have been a strech to make up THAT much more material. I was happy that what was produced was fairly fast moving and cohesive. They might have lost that if they tried to go further.

And i was personally unhappy with the anime ending, namely Al losing all memory of the adventure and edward. Might have just been me.

FMA is a very interesting anime if you ask me. i had never heard of alchemy until FMA, then i researched it a little. it turns out Alchmey dated back to the 1800s, etc., etc., but the storyline is very involving to me and they all seem to have their own personal goals and such. i didnt like that it only had around 50 episodes, but im loooking forward to the movie.

Well, I liked the bit where Edward and Al's father came back to town. Of course, Edward was pissed and went over him and hit him. The father acted calm and asked Edward he still doesn't like milk. Of course, we all know that Edward hates being referred as "short" so he kicks him in full rage, though the father didn't refer to him as a shorty, but made a slight reference due to a lack of calcium that Edward is short.

Yeah the eye-patch was a bit oversized. It didn't look to good. :/ And u got to admit the movie ending made more sense then the anime's ending, it was essential in finishing the series. The original ending was too confusing and incomplete.

I meant to say that in many cases that if they are sticking some movie behind a Succesfull Animeit mostly is some crappy movie that doesn't make any sense at all, but that didn't happen in the FMA's case it all made perfect sense to the series...

Oh yeah, episode 37 was kinda funny. Though that episode had nothing to do with the main plot, pretty much a filler. Yeah, it was funny when Havoc pictured the Armstrong sister as Alex Lois Armstrong, a femine version of him. I just cracked up. FMA needs more comedy like that.

Yeah the funeral of Maes was so sad. What you said was just sad to watch. The sad music playing in the background made it more emotional.

Another sad scene was were Ed and Al find Nina decomposed with alchemy, finding her blood on the wall was also sad as well.

I prefer the manga much more than the anime. The anime was good, and then it went insane. I'm much more of a manga fan than anime, so I suppose maybe that's why I like it more. And I will say that the anime did well in making up new stuff because the manga wasn't out too far when they started. :)

Well I have the whole think the anime and the movie and it rocks. The movie kind of gets very serious but is okay for the end of the series.
I read in Newtype Magazine that they based the anime series in only three volumes of the manga, so it means the stories are going to be very different. I have the manga and it's true there are some details about it that you noticed are way too different.

That's 'Conqueror of Shambala' the FMA movie. It's meant for the "ending" of the series. Most people either hate it or love it. IMO it wraps up the series better than episode 51.

FMA is the bomb! First anime I watched all of straight to the end. It opened up my mind a lot, and it was the first anime to have a strangely complex story line that I watched. I love those...lol.
