How will Asuma manage?

Okay, he faces the quite fearsome enemy, Hidan (greatest character in Naruto). What do you think will happen? Will Asuma and Hidan die? Will someone come to their aid and if that's the case, who will that be?

Perhaps we could really see Asuma die. There has been a lot of focus on his in the recent chapters...such as showing him at Third's grave, saying tnx dad (why introduce this now?) then comments by Shikamaru on how he stopped smoking...meaning he is sad or something is troubling him...then discovering that he was one of 10 guards for the feudal lord...or images of Kurenai sitting alone in a room, looking very worried. Also, he is also the wind type so Naruto interacts with him more. If he dies that could push Naruto's rage even further. Oh and...he mentioned something interesting like...now he knows who's the real king in Konoha (using the chess analogy...most important figure).

It's possible that this is all a build up so the moment he dies is much more emotional...since ppl wouldn't care as much for a char that was not very well portrated and had very little "screen time" and focus.

Actually...I will be very surprised if he survives:D

Either that or the author just wanted to develop the char a bit more...but that doesn't make alot of sence since it seems that he was preparing the terain for this fight in the last few chapters.
Or to make the fight more dramatic...or...

But what Im more interested in right now is Hidan. i want to know about his technique. I want to know whether its granted to him because of his religion. Or if it is the religion in itself.

i think asuma will die there seem toi have been a lot of hints to it like him saying he is a sacrificail piece etc. i think that if he does die he will take the other charecter with him or at east do somthing that stopped him bieng immortal a lot like when the 4th fought orochimaru. which will be a shame as i like asuma
i think this fight though will be really useful to allow us to see a wind chakara user fight as it must be able to do more the cut and this would gives us ideas as to what naruto may achive when he uses his wind chakara

And only Sandaime and the Yondaime can use that techinque I think...although I think Jirayia may also be able to perform the jutsu..since the 4th was his student. Much like rasengan. But there are no indications of this.

That whole talk about chess and how you sometimes need to scarific a piece or two to protect the king is some heavy forshadowing that something may happen to him.

I don't want Asuma to die but with all of the foreshadowing it's hard to believe he'll be around for much longer.

One question about Konohamaru. Is Asuma his dad or is he his uncle? They've not really clarified Sarutobi's current family tree.

There is no way they can survive the battle without someone like Jiraiya rescuing them. Asuma and the others might sacrificed themselves for Shikamaru to escape. When he returns to Konoha, Naruto will learn of the news of Asuma's death to protect Konoha and he'll be more determined than ever to complete his jutsu.

Hidan probably has a weak spot that will instantly kill him like Sasori.

Well, we haven't seen all of Asuma's, Shika's, and the other two's ability, I'm saying with Shikamaru on the team, they might have a chance of escaping or defeating Hidan and Kakuzu or whatever. Or, someone comes and save them.. Another team or something.

Asuma, with the little time he has had in the manga or the show, is still such a mystery that we know hardly anything about his techniques. We know he's a wind type, and all we've ever really seen him use are his daggers. Let's just not forget that he is the son of Sandaime Hokage. That's got to mean something. I think he has a few tricks up his sleeves. Right now, it is just a matter of him and the squad gaining an understanding of Hidan's abilities before they die. If they can get an insight into what he is able to do, they've heavily increased their chances of coming out ahead in this battle. Remember, you've got the Leaf's lazy genius Shikamaru, and Asuma plays shouji against him regularly. They've got intelligence and strategy on their side.

And 2 Akatsuki against them. Asuma is pretty messed up already...and Hidan is not even injured.
The second Akatsuki member still hasn't entered the battle...if they don't get some help soon (AT LEAST someone of Gai's level) they will have to find a way to immobilize them and run like hell.
Even Asuma, one of the better Konoha Jounin doesn't stand a chance 1on1...and there are 2 of them.
I doubt that 3 chounnin can make a big difference in this situation, despite Shikas intelligence. Akatsuki is sheer power.

Perhaps they can injure Hidan so heavily that the other Akatsuki has to retreat...or maybe they can really overcome all the odds but how things are looking now, that's Sci-Fi.

We are leaving a factor out of this though. Who knows how powerful Tsunade's 2 assistants are. They seem pretty cool so I wouldnt be suprised if theyve got some moves. Throw them into the mix and itll get interesting.

Also Shikamaru is still very useful. His shadowbind jutsu actually did work and if he can get the other akatsuki under his control it would be a big step towards victory.

yeah those to other team members have appeared all though the series so it is time we got to see them and they must be pretty stong to have survived.
like i said though i don't think all of them will survive shikamru has tactics but they don't always allow you to win and the best tactic may result in some1's death.

*sigh* They left this weeks' chapter on a cliffhanger again... But it seems that Shikamaru thought of something. I doubt that Shikamaru and co. can defeat Hidan or the other Kisame lookalike dude, but they probably will survive until backup comes...

They are gonn need backup fast. Even if Shikamaru's plan works, Kakuzu can jump in and save his teammate at any time. 4 Konoha Chunin/Jounin does not 2 Akatsuki make.

Jiraiya needs to bust in there and start whoopin asses.

I doubt that Asuma would die. If he did, it would leave many things unanswered. For example, Konohamaru is the grandson of the 3rd, and he is the son of the third, are they father and son? Who is the mother?

Also, he needs to teach Naruto how to use the wind element. The Akatsuki or Konoha members would probably retreat. Also, I think that Hidan is stronger than all the Akatsuki members shown, except perhaps Itachi, because of his 'reflecting' type jutsu.

Why Kishimoto.......... Anyway Id say the chances of Asuma dying are about 50/50. Hes got alot of back up, but it is akatsuki and there have been hints. Anyway well just have to wait and see though it annoys me so.

yeah i want ot know who is sent as backup maybe some anubu members or just other members of the ninja's sent to track down those two in the first place.
as much as i don't want asuma to die i think he should to add some fear of the akatsuki. he is probably as hard as kakashi and if he loses then that means that the akatsuki are to be feared which they should be, not just jounin level ninja's.
an akatsuki losing should be a rare very thing
