ok, then i will start by dancing tips and you guys who have more experince,
well, in order to be able to dance, first look at yourself if you have rythme, its the most imprtant thing in dancing,
what it means?
it means that when you move your bodyparts, thay have to be coherent and they have to move smoothly together,
so if you do not have that, all you have to do is that you start to train your body and stretch your legs more and arms too
GOOD LUCK

I can only waltz and do a little bit of the tango. To be more exact I was forced to learn how to waltz and tango =/. My mom forced me to take dancing classes when I was 8. It was either that or learn the violin =/. Can't really say I put that skill into any good use except on prom night :P.
In waltz I guess the most important thing to take notice of is that your dance partner has to be a little shorter (if you're the guy, opposite if you're a she :P) than you are, try to relax, don't be too close but not too far apart from him/her. Careful with the turns else you might get a flying elbow right to your face ;). The number of steps you take depends on the beat so always pay attention to the music. Typically you'd have a maximum of 33 beats per minute so that would mean a step every two seconds or so. Don't rush it else you might trip on your partner and don't be too slow else you'd be dragged along instead :P. Have fun ;).

Ah, we had to do waltz at our graduation last year, along with some other styles that I totally forgot now. >.>
I used to do classical ballet o_o and did hip hop, but that was AGES ago. 3-4 years back.

anybody FREAK!?....you know bumpin and grindin
I can only waltz and do a little bit of the tango.Omg, ONLY? Minty, that's freakin' AWESOME. I wish I knew how to WALTZ. The best I got is the hand jive, a little bit of "Jump on it" (also known as the Carlton Banks/Fresh Prince dance), the electric slide, Emo Dancing, and my personal favorite: The Macarena.
My Emo Experience
And though it's name may sound a little intimidating, Emo Dancing also known as The Emo, Emo Trotting, or The Emoette, Emo Dancing is often enjoyed by angsty teenagers of the indie/emo pursuasion.
Unlike some dances, The Emo is more about connecting with your partner(s) than technique, although with more experience, you will be able to fine tune your style.
The steps
In a group of any size (I reccomend 5+ people), first find the mood of the music. Find your center. Feel the music. Feel.
Then, as the music begins to pick up, lift yourself in the air. As you rise, extend your arms allow your hand to point foward. Then, float back down. Repeat this action, and lift yourself again aiming a little higher. This step is to be repeated throughout the song.
I like to call this step The Emo-sautE. Some may refer to it as "a jetE." You may call it whatever you want. :3

the steps that i know? er.. i can't exactly name all of them because i never cared about the names of the steps that my PE teachers taught me so most of the time i just forget them.. but i'm sure about waltz, tango, and samba(the one i'm currently learning for our field demonstration).

ok, the second advice am giving,........
always try new things and i mean new moves. Ok if we are saying that you have just started learning, you have to watch people very carfully, and then you have to try these moves, the most important thing is to practice those moves, at the first you would look at yourself and see omg what am i doing?
but you have to try it, and you are not going to be good at it,
then you must have someone to watch you and you must have amorrior, its really important, when this person watches you, they know better if you are doing it right or not,
also you have to try the easy things first cuz the complicated moves cuz they are really dangerous and you may hurt your self
do not choose asong with fast beat or tone, choose one that has agood beat but not that fast that you can not handle, GOOD LUCK:Domo
next time am going to teach the first dance and am going to give you all the steps and also the music and if you have an spceial request to learn any type of dance just tell me:winking56

Erm..I am not good at describing the way I dance to teach people,I can only do it face to face.
But I dance HipHop and belly .
I 've learned them mostly from watching Movies or video clips and then practicing infront of my mirror. For HipHop I suggest the movie"you get served" or "Save the last dance" xD

i have never danced before. I really want to learn how to dance but actually I don't have time
My school's hosting the 72nd SASC conference this weekend, and yesterday one of the workshops was Ballroom dancing! Some of the state guides and I totally participated!
I learned basic swing, the Merengue, and T-A-NGO. And since there weren't enough girls, I learned the guy's part--I mean, I was a "leader."
But no, seriously, it was bad ass. I was a better "gentleman" than most of the dudes there. XD
But then, when we switched partners and I had to dance with a guy, I was totally lost. I didn't learn the girl's part :<

Rofl, let me tell you one of my great stories of a 13 year old living in england who used to dance for everyone in the school at lunchtimes and quickly became one of the most popluar students ever, for a short period of time.
Of course, it's not me, so there... >_> *cough*
Anyway, this RANDOM student who is defiantly not me used to dance like Micheal Jackson. People started watching him dance during breaks from lessons and more came.. and more.. and more..
This boy, not me, then became one of the most popluar people in the school, because litarlly everyone in the school knew his name. After a while, people used to beat this random boy up, when he refused to dance for them.
'Course, as I said, this is not me in anyway, so SUCKS TO YOU.

I love dancing, its the one thing I look forward to doing, even if I'm fasting. If you ask any of my friends, I am the one most likely to start dancing anywhere, be it just stupidly dancing around or really getting into it.
I've tried many types of dances, such as traditional malay dance, hip hop, freestyle, break dancing, funk, line dance, MTV dance and latin. They're all fun to do so I'll really encourage you all to try. I've done dance examinations and even competitions. You might think this is all over the top but there are so many dancers better then me. I guess what you really need is just confidence with yourself and your body.
Dance sneakers are funky as and they fun, just dont try to do other sports with them or else, you will feel pain, utter pain (there isnt any support in the middle in order for you to be able to point your feet). A dance I really want to try is either ballroom or belly dancing.
Some great dance movies to watch:
*Dirty Dancing
*Take The Lead
*You Got Served
*Honey
Nobody has two left feet. Anybody can dance if they wanted to. A famous quote from the movie Take the Lead, Antonio Banderas' character said "Do you like to dance? If you do, then you can dance". Everybody starts small so you shouldnt be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, take baby steps. No one expects you to get it right the first time, just keep trying and you'll get there eventually. A problem with me is that I have very tight hamstrings which sometimes prove difficult for me to dance with but I still try my best, so should you :winking56.
Ooh ohh, guess what? On friday, am going to Overdrive; its the finals of a dance competition in Singapore where dancers will battle it out to dance with Wade Robson. He's gonna be there and I'll get to see him yay. He's such a cool dancer.:headbang

Meh. I would love to dance. But i dont really know how to dance, so i wouldnt call myself a pro dancer. And i dont exactly have the time to go for dance class. So instead, i prefer to stay at home and try to learn how to dance through music videos and movies.
Anyway, that's not just it. The point is, dancing's more than just learning how to groove. You dont have to be 6 ft tall, weighed 35 kilos with lots of abs just to dance. Anyone can dance, as long as you wanted to.
Now....hmm...let's see. What makes me enjoy dancing? It doesnt just keep me fit (it's an exercise too), it makes my body and soul feel free. When you dance, you get to express your body in any way you want to. And that's what dancing really is-a form of art. Or at least that's what i believe it is.

you are exactly right and i totally agree with you, dancing is about doing what you feel thats what i say when i teach others how to dance, well, you have to feel the song thats all you can do, just feel the song let it go inside you and then you start dancing, you just do what you feel like to do, thats the key,
yeah, letting your spirtit our, but at the same time if you really like dancing, it is not nesscerry to be so thin and tall, some great dancers i know they are full bodied people and some of the are better than me,
so if you really like dancing just try your best and start learning cuz its not going to come like that,
and yah shere if you wanna learn anew dance am going to post steps of dances by two weeks and then they are going to be easy steps, hopfully and i hope you like those dances:winking56

Because it's all about letting the record play and ride the rhythm.

I love any type of dance really, they're all great and fascinating, too bad I can't do all of them. The one thing I really want to learn is the argentine tango...hot! Just need to find a partner. Basically the ones I want to give a go are the ones that need two people.
